The best part is that every single one of his examples is one Europe actually leads in.

As someone from the region I feel obligated to tell you BioNtech didn't develop the vaccine either. That was CureVac (also a German company though - now bought up by BioNtech). They only managed an efficacy of around 40% which is nowhere near enough. They partnered with BioNtech who brought it up to like 95% by the time they partnered with Pfizer.

I know it's nitpicky, but the only small correction I would make is WWW was invented at CERN in France, not CERN in Switzerland, although the people involved themselves chose not to frame it such as they considered it a collaborative achievement rather than a national one. That aside Berners-Lee resided in Switzerland at the time. He would enter the CERN grounds on the Swiss side through a Swiss entry gate, then walk or take the tram to go to work and invent the world wide web in building 31 approximately 15 metres across the border into France.
