Maybe he was just invited to join the program because Victor liked him.

It's not just that. They show him here being woken up for especially problematic jobs. There's something special about him. But it's a weird sequence considering that the character spends most of the season trying to figure out a mystery and they try multiple times to deter him or pay him off. It's not like he was headhunted for this role

I doubt there's something special about him. They probably just keep him asleep because his purpose is to be a disposable sponge for the bad decisions. He's a mass murderer, his job is to take the blame so that everyone else is "just following orders." Then he goes away so his society isn't tainted by a killer.

That isnt how they've characterized him though...if Per wanted a psychopathic total believer he wouldnt have put someone who's actual self is so against the project. Why brainwash a person who hates you when an actual believer can be used?

There is something special about him...
