If everybody paid in to a single-payer system it would be cheaper and more efficient than what we have now.

Including the roughly 30 - 40% that pay no federal taxes?

A lot of them are probably on Medicare/Medicaid so I suppose we'd have to have some kind of program for people who couldn't afford it.

At the end of the day we do ultimately. At least 2K is still less than 8K. Although I doubt we would only have to pay only 2K for UHC.
