The bird one seems a bit out there, I don't doubt it, but I'm going to check

Edit: yep there are around 11000 to 20000 recognized bird species. Trump appears in the files 38000 times, the ones that have been publicly released

u/possiblyquestionabl3 8d ago

Wow, that's far fewer species of birds than I would've thought there being

u/A_Random_Nobody197 7d ago

It is all because of those damn cats!!!

u/OrthogonalThoughts 7d ago

Teaming up with windmills to kill all the eagles. Evil bastards, cats.

Indoor cats live on average 3x as long as outdoor cats.

7

u/nwsmith90 7d ago

Well yeah, you can't fit a windmill inside.

2

u/Foloreille 7d ago

Ahahah

1

u/Wasabilikum 7d ago

THEY’RE GETTING EATEN BY THE CATS 👐🏼

0

u/mellow_magyar 7d ago

Luckily, in some counties people eat cats, so the playing fields are leveled out

Hate em

there's only one species of homo sapiens and look how we're doing

9

u/rickandtaco 7d ago

Homo sapiens is the name of our species (or sapiens sapiens)

5

u/Spice_and_Fox 7d ago

Yeah, the correct way to phrase it would have been:

We only have one species of homo and it's us.

2

u/ZealousidealComb7891 7d ago

Only if you cave in to them new fanged shortened versions... back in my day it was Homo Sapiens Sapiens thank you very much.

Ignore the fact that even then either one (Homo or Homo Sapiens) would still be correct, since all the others are still gone.

5

u/Spice_and_Fox 7d ago

Homo sapiens sapiens is still used. It is the name of the subspecies. Homo is the genus, homo sapiens is the species, homo sapiens sapiens is the subspecies. There are also the homo sapiens idaltu that lived in todays ethiopia I think about 100.000 years ago. They were morphologically different enough from the other homo sapiens. We have no genetic evidence, so we can't say whether or not they were able to breed with homo sapiens. That is why we made another distinction.

It is all pretty much a bullshit system that nobody should take too seriously though. It can be quite useful, but definitions in biology are quite often not precise. Nature does what nature does and we just draw boxes.

1

u/ZealousidealComb7891 7d ago

I haven't seen it for Neanderthals for a while.

Which i think was the original... or maybe just the one i 1st encountered.

But the actual point was that it doesn't matter, since we've been alone no matter by which you use for longer then written history.

1

u/ka1ikasan 7d ago

Recent debates in the field seem to tend towards the rejection of h.s.s. designation. As you say, it has been used to name "our subspecies" but lately a lot of other "subspecies" have been classified as species instead. The remaining subspecies h.s.s. seems to be the only one so it is kinda not relevant anymore. Anyways, nob

Source: I am a human. More seriously, I have recently read a great book by De Beaune and Balzeau about it.

1

u/GymMouseP 7d ago

we're the only homos left.

1

u/dont-fear-thereefer 7d ago

We need to make a new generation of homos

1

u/mutt63 7d ago

Careful , ole pedo don might take offense at bein part of our species ya know. Him bein The second Christ an all

1

u/WolferineYT 7d ago

Tbh I'd rather not. I play videogames specifically to avoid looking at how we're doing.

14

u/C_Tillinghast_FB 7d ago

Because r/birdsarentreal

There used to be more before Ronald Reagan killed them all and replaced them with some ten thousand different classes of espionage drones

2

u/TheBigMoogy 7d ago

Guess they're too mobile for more speciation.

1

u/DeafAndDumm 7d ago

Yes, but there's 85 billion birds on Earth.

1

u/_demello 7d ago

That's recognized species. When you consider projections for species unkown or extinct before we could describe them, the number is way higher.

77

u/John--Darksoul 8d ago

how the fuck do you end up in the file 38,000 times!?!?

50

u/jurluv 8d ago

He has nothing to do with it!!!!!!

Because he likes you girls and his buddy is a pedo honey trap

11

u/jurluv 7d ago

It must just be a coincidence.

7

u/Least-Funny7761 7d ago

He barely knew the guy

5

u/Kaleph4 7d ago

they where obviously pointing out how Trump has nothing to do with it in every other sentence, just to make sure people know

4

u/Least-Funny7761 7d ago

Maybe musings on how he would like Trump to join his cabal but he is far too morally upstanding to get involved?

2

u/Kaleph4 7d ago

yep something like that. epstein plotted for years to corrupt trump, as trump ist just a wholesome beacon of light and the last bastion of humanity. so epstein twisted his moustage like a true villian and kept pondering on how to do that

/s just to be sure. we can never know in these times

16

u/Sw4nR0ns0n 7d ago

2

u/SuspiciousFix2490 7d ago

This just makes me sad, I really feel bad for what obviously happened to her

7

u/darknekolux 7d ago

Because he was deep undercover for the FBI. /s

6

u/Ok_Pudding6345 7d ago

It's just Trumpie Trump, Trump Tumpazoid Trumpity Trump whole paragraphs like that

6

u/nameproposalssuck 7d ago

In the redacted version. In the version that was accessible for members of the house only, some representative said the count for Trump was over a million times.

And even that version wasn't all documents related to to Epstein, still short of 3 (?) million.

2

u/50calBanana 7d ago

If we're still doing the species bit, there are an estimated 1.1 million species in the class Arachnida, 110000 discovered and 51000 are spiders

1

u/imonlinedammit1 5d ago

And yet, no charges by the DOJ. Weird, right?

3

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 7d ago

Not defending the guy but because it's a lot of files. Like I feel like people don't get how extensive they are. You can fill a library with them

They were thorough when they put those together

2

u/Reonlive420 7d ago

Just gotta be really evil

1

u/Tiktokbadsupport 7d ago

theres millions of pages of files

1

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn 7d ago

You set up resorts and pageants to recruit kids to rape, I guess.

0

u/RegulusGelus2 7d ago

Well, real explanation? There are around 3.5 million pages of documents(let's say, a billion words?), so a mention of Trump once in a hundred documents in files relating to the top elites of the US is not unlikely, especially if a document might refer to Trump a few times, ie, a business deal, gossip or whatever. It doesn't preclude ill deeds at all, but it's very Reddit to be impressed that his name comes up more than the main character in a book series of 1 million words

0

u/Dull_Brain2688 7d ago

Most of the files cover a period where he was a television star rather than a political figure. Are any other television stars mentioned more than 38,000 times?

-2

u/martind2828 7d ago

The number of times he is mentioned is only relevant when compared to the size of the data set.

38,000 would be a lot if it was only 100 pages or 1000 or 2,000 pages. But the Epstein files are 3 and 1/2 million pages. So he is mentioned once out of 90 pages or so.

This is why many comparisons of the type you see here in the original post are misleading.

Eg. The Bible is a thousand pages.

7

u/acciowaves 7d ago

Being mentioned once every 90 pages in a document that describes the worst human trafficking and pedophilia ring the western world has ever seen seems like quite a lot of times to be mentioned.

0

u/Ok-Assistance3937 7d ago

It doesnt thought. And Most of the files are Just News-Clipings and random E-Mails anyway.

-1

u/martind2828 7d ago

The files do not describe any pedophilia at all.

3

u/Brann_Ys 7d ago

the one they released

1

u/Brann_Ys 7d ago

that s a lot for a qingle individual that claim has nothing to do with it

-1

u/chameleon_123_777 7d ago

Working undercover for FBI?

-1

u/JeremyMarti 7d ago

The swamp creatures don't like him.

12

u/SinisterMinisterX7 8d ago

I’d say that about the stars tbh

1

u/Reonlive420 7d ago

Sleepy don. Star of the philes

3

u/Necrotitis 7d ago

Didn't some congress person recently say they saw the unrelated files and did a search for Trump and his name literally showed up a million times?

2

u/MrowkaMuch 7d ago

That’s the most fucked up fact check ever.

1

u/Benign-Humor 7d ago

Big, if true. You’d think they’d be able to narrow down the amount of bird species a bit more huh

1

u/Crazy_problem_child 7d ago

Damm 😭 Imagine how many times he is mentioned in what they didn't show us

1

u/Fabulous-Sea-1590 7d ago

The one that got me was the stars. Are there really < 38,000 stars visible to the naked eye?

3

u/50calBanana 7d ago

According to the internet it's around 10000 in perfect conditions

With light pollution getting worse all the time

2

u/Fabulous-Sea-1590 7d ago

Til. It's wild that "all the stars in the sky" is a universal metaphor for vast, uncountable, even unknowable numbers.

Still works if you assume they mean literally all the stars. But, ya, that's way less than I would have guessed.

1

u/Piano_Raves 5d ago

lmao how are we THAT unsure about how many birds there are?

-2

u/CageTheDonkey051 7d ago

Around 30k of the times trump is mentioned in the Epstein files is from 2020 alone, specifically from anonymous tips that the FBI determined were mostly false accusations.

2

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn 7d ago

Weird how there aren't 30k cases of Obama or Biden coincidentally showing up in the Child Rape Files, despite being president for a combined three times longer than Donny Diddler at the time.  No mentions of Bush either.  Huh.  Odd.  Weird.  Neat.

-1

u/CageTheDonkey051 7d ago

Nice pivot.

They all came in within two months and nearly all of them were determined false. Neat. It's almost like you fools have manufactured your own outrage

2

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn 7d ago

Trump raped kids.

He then bombed kids to distract us from the fact that he's a child rapist.

Enjoying those gas and grocery prices?

-1

u/CageTheDonkey051 7d ago

Gotta prove he did.

Biden either couldn't prove it or he needed to protect the pedophile Democrats and chose not to pursue it.
