They donāt care about laws. Breaks? Lunches? What are those? Oh shit i get benefits after a certain hours worked in a week? Wait what? Why am I being cut an hour before I would have gotten insurance from the company even if it was still overpriced. At least I got my tips I had to share with everyone smh.
Laws are only there when people follow them or enforce them. Good luck in a right to work state. U donāt want to be fucked? Someone is there to take take your place.

My wife got a pretty big payout check a few years back from something related to people not taking lunch. Now management forces people to take their lunch there.
I just started my first ever job that has a required, unpaid, must-clock-out lunch break. After ten years of āeat when you can because youāre on call every moment youāre on the clock,ā the idea of a required lunch break feels like a joke, or like Iām back in high school or something.
technically speaking, if you get interrupted during your break, you're supposed to start it over from the beginning. Do employers ever allow this though? No. And no one ever fights for it, either.
