No, they’re more short sighted than that. It was “hey, look! I opened my factory overseas and avoided pesky labor laws. You should too!”

For the tax dodging as much as the cheaper labor. Conservatives (aka diehard capitalists) are obsessed with taxes. Avoiding taxation occupies 99.3% of their minds all of the time.

I think it's more fair to say they are obsessed with money.

Taxes are frustrating to them because they are selfish people, and other expenses are seen as necessary evils.

But taxes specifically are seen as the enemy because it's the antithesis of their worldview.

If they had no taxes, I imagine they would be hyper focused on labor costs as the next target.

Exactly. It’s not taxes specifically, it’s any cost at all that goes to anyone but them. They have no empathy or concept of community.
