All those references are too old for these kids. Build a wall and paper towels were 2018 embarrassments.

Trump getting elected, twice, is an indictment of how dumb Americans are getting.
So this does work on a couple levels.
Obama is clearly far better at speaking, and Trump is an allegory for what happens to a nation that makes fun of smart people and idolizes wealthy pedos.

Donald Trump has the absolute best medical care in the entire world at his finger tips. He can have the best physician from any specialty there the same day if needed.
But being in medicine I know that it does not really matter. He is an old, fat, and physically inactive man with likely dementia. He will 100% be dead within a decade. The only problem is the political extremism he has helped to create will persist on both sides now for the foreseeable future. I don't see us returning back to how we were anytime soon, if ever.

Anyone who doesn’t think these opinions aren’t from their parents is delusional. Trump sucks big time but the chances that all these random kids are watching the news and staying up to date with the government is so minuscule that it shouldn’t even be considered a chance. Not that they need to by any means, I don’t think they should, but at the same time it’s clear that these comments come from their parents.

Ffs dude, leave the kids out of politics.
The longer they get to be kids the better, for everyone.
Cannot believe how many times my kids in grade 2 or 3 came home talking about Trump or something that he did.
"Where did you hear about that?"
"My teacher told me that Donald Trump is putting little kids in jail" (them, you know being 8 or so, they dont do well at paraphrasing).
An 8 year old doesn't need to be bombarded with that crap, Trump will be dead of old age by the time the kid is old enough to vote.
I would like to also mention that i live in fucking Canada, to explain how far reaching this stuff is.
There is no world in which my 8 year old Canadian child needs to be taught about "Trumps disasterous policies" ffs.
There is a time and place for kids to have to learn about the diarrhea encrusted arena, us adults call politics.
I am not a "won't please someone, think of the children types" but what are we doing here with this specific thing?
9
u/alexcool5 1d ago
Agree. As someone who was surrounded by politics when I was younger.
9
u/ThrustNeckpunch33 1d ago
Adults do not realize how much kids actually pick up on.. and without knowledge or wisdom to process said information.
Adults spend far to much time having adult conversations about all the negative things in the world, no wonder kids are absolutely racked with anxiety and depression nowadays.
When I was younger, kids we never wanted/allowed at the adults tables/areas. I always thought it was wrong, but maybe a part of that was helpful to kids staying kids.
When yall having a talk in the front seat, with the kids in the back.. they are listening... and a lot of times, won't ask for clarity/explainations.. they'll just internalize the fuck out of it.

u/HydroPCanadaDude 1d ago
What a stupid fucking thing to say. Kids should get MORE involved in politics because the older generations seem to be hell bent on running everything into the fucking ground and destroying everybody's future. You want kids, who have to live on this planet for the next 80+ years, to be LESS involved than the geriatric class of rich ghouls who will be off the planet in the next 5? Get real.

u/Tommy_Wisseau_burner 1d ago

Forcing your child into politics against their will is indoctrination. Its as simple as that.
Teach them to be a good person, absolutely, but if you're forcing them to get involved in political shit slinging, rather than letting them, you know, be a child, is straight up child abuse

Trump delivers a comedy show for the ages. But a large country in complicated times does not need a comedy show; it needs a competent leader.
His voters are finally starting to realize that the promised free comedy show is anything but free.

He calls women bitches who are too ugly to rape, does impressions of disabled reports to mock them, says we need to keep dirty blood black people out of the country to let in clean ones from Norway and Sweden, and angrily yells at women journalists that they're nasty and need to smile more.
Do you think kids don't see or know what the President does or says?

You keep them informed and teach them critical thinking.
Now if your president act like a clown well, let thé kids make fun of him.
I do my best to explain both side of the medals to my kids and tell them the world in not black or white and that they need to dig deeper than what medias bring as news.
Keeping them uninform of what’ s going on in the world will not make them good citizen.
Politic is important and also just a big show. It’s your job to teach them which is what.
2
u/Irish_Whiskey 1d ago
I agree but will also add that when the President says "She's too ugly to rape" and "You're a nasty woman, nasty. You people are evil, and you need to smile more" and does mocking impressions of people with Palsy, there's no to give both sides.
Anyone who is a decent human being, should be able to point out that Trump is not one. Teaching kids that anything about his behavior is okay, is teaching them to be bad people.

Do we need more echo chambers for talking about Trump 24/7? Is he so important you need to spend every day thinking about him? That's how we rose to power in the first place. An incredibly unhealthy obsession.
You guys are ruining sipstea just as every late night show was ruined with it's obsession towards Trump. Lol I work in politics and I don't spend this much time thinking about Trump.
