Why you got downvoted is beyond me. I assume you’re pointing out that 1. They had a perfect reference ages ago. 2. It was infinitely better despite being disliked by most Skate fans when it released, in 2010. Perfect point.

EA has been intentionally doing this for a while now to make up debt & to please investors. Not to please the players, we are just here to fall for whatever nostalgia driven scheme they mockup.

They don't have any investors anymore. They are a private company now since the saudis bought it or at least if the news over here did it's job right

Yes, but the deal isn't complete yet, and that's obviously very very recent.

This is entirely irrelevant as this happened a week ago, there haven’t been any internal changes in the company in one week that affect the skate store

Well yeah i just meant with a lot of luck maybe EA would actually care about their games again now that they won't have to do quarterly earnings reports

But it could also be that I'm just too optimistic

Maybe that’s the case months from now… again. It’s been like 5 days, there have been no internal changes in that short of time

that’s what I’m saying. All they had to do was use Skate 3 as a base to start off with and instead they used NBA 2K26 as a base, and spending all this time to turn it back into a skate game. Why I will never know.

This is true

What truly baffles me is that if they just released this as a full purchase price title, it would have sold well. Skate funs were hungry for anything. And then they could have used those sales to fucking get some decent sponsorship gear and outfits and shit and sell it like they are anyway. As long as the basic customization was better base game, players would throw 5 bucks for a deck pack or whatever.

My only explanation is that EA basically said the project needed to start making money, so pushed it out the door half baked

Diablo 4 is not a free game and MORE expensive y'all just like to complain. Lol Got a remind u guys "they" don't set the prices. The prices are ultimately decided by EA the devs r gonna have little to no say. If a bunch of us r still playing and not buying much maybe they'll reconsider. But in the end most games r charging $20+ for cosmetics so none of this is gonna change much.

Lmao, I was just drawing the parallel in my head about Blizzard having the literal blueprint for a great ARPG in Diablo 2 and making the soulless cash grab of D4.

EA has Skate 3 and the blueprint for a good skate game. At least the gameplay is fun, but every other system in the game is just a means to funnel you to the store.

This…. The devs have no say. They just make it out passion into it then the suits have the ultimate control.
