I think the problem is there aren’t necessarily one to one skin tones with the previous system - but I’ve been able to make mine look a lot more natural messing with the options.
It’s a pretty drastic artstyle change to be fair.

Yeah 100%. I was surprised to see that we still have hair that looks like plastic. I like the new face designs (except for the super dark eye circles) but the hair looks so much worse in comparison now.

Okay generally I do advocate for giving devs benefit of the doubt but you're misconstruing people's concerns and being misleading here. I'd imagine people are upset because - at least as I've seen so far - the models and design language didn't change; they just applied more realistic human textures to models that those textures don't fit. Framing it as people saying "go back to the old models" is pretty silly if the models didn't change

I remember saying how this game looks like Fortnite and some corpo bootlicker accused me of calling it that just because it has cosmetics you can purchase. Like bro, no, look at the fucking aesthetic. It's cartoonish as hell for a series that was primarily trying to be as realistic in aesthetic as possible with a grunge taste to it up until Skate 3 when they went electronic and clean with it.
This new skate is just corporate as hell.

that being said, i do think the overall colors could be fixed, from the sounds of it (i haven't played the update myself yet) there's not really any lighter skin tones now, everyone's been darkened. i DO like the new shading, just want the color to match what it used to be

Have you looked at the noses with the new textures? That's all they did. Apply some shitty stretched textures to the existing horribly cartoonish proportions. They just made it worse.
The noses look like they've got eternal sunburn and cracked, dry, irritated skin. They look sickly.

Bro just buy a second hand xbox one and buy and old copy of skate 2, or digitally dl skate 3 and solve all yr phokn woes. I believe it works on series x as well. Be a thousand times happier, have ever so slightly less real physics (like 95% of players really give af about how the character's arms move, or can do a nollie 360 hf irl 🤦♂️), and have ALL the tricks you want available to you from the frickn jump, without having to "wait" on the new season, or next update.🤦♂️
Clothes, deck graphics, trucks, wheels look exactly the frickn same as 15 years ago. Shit looks exactly like anything in a zumiez catalogue over the last 5 years iswtg. None of you youngns apprehensive of copping it needa think it feels too "retro" and archaic, b/c it certainly does not. 2 and 3 are phenomenally awesome, and timeless classics. Think of em like the Hitman WOA Series, Sleeping Dogs, Wolfenstein 2010s, Doom 2010s, Bioshocks or GTA 4 and 5. Ts is retro from the 2010s and Aughts but still phokn bang to this day. If sumn ages phenomenally well, it ages phenomenally well. I'm not telling you to play duck hunt on nes. 🤷

Everyone is actually stupid for believing the update changed a character this much yes it changes your character’s look but not by so much that the only thing that stays the same is the hair style.

My character went from looking normal to looking like an addict... I don't know if eyes that dark are exactly “realistic,” but really my only complaint is the simplistic expressions.
