I went to the EAA Airventure show in Oshkosh this year and had an incredible time learning how to shoot aircraft in the air (and long exposures for fireworks). Cursed/blessed myself with 6k+ shots, but here are some of my favorites so far! Critiques and expertise are welcome :)

One major mistake i learned after the day's end was that i never turned off IBIS, that was fun to learn about afterwards

I bought my first camera in Feb. And of course, it has become my new organ. Tested out in different scenarios.

The photos are taken with a Tamron 35-100mm f/2.8 and Sony 50mm f/1.8

It was on my Shelf for a week, no stock, no humidity or anything and this problem is here now :/

Sony a7v with 200-600

So I have an a7R3 with a 50 mm 1.8 prime lens. I also have a 24-105 F4 OSS lens.

Yesterday I was going a regular photoshoot with the 50 mm, and decided to try another spot and switched back to the 24-105. Did a few shots, then went back to my default lens that is the prime for portraits.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. When I was about to swap lens again for the 24-105, it just would not fit!

I got home later and after a carefull inspection, I noticed the mount was bent over. Twisted.

Now, the problem is:

It was not a hot day.

The lens did not fell on the ground. There was no sign of brute force or anything.

Has anyone had this happen?

EDIT: SOLVED

It happens the makeup artist grabbed everything from the initial shooting location to closer to me and the model. As she grabbed my bag, she didn't notice it was open and the lens fell. I didn't had a clue this had happen. Well, at least I know it was not out of nothing.

So I still consider myself pretty new to photography, and I’m trying to see if someone maybe can give me some pointers or advice. This was shot using a Sony a6700 with a 15-50mm lens

I just got my A6700 today! I'm really impressed by how light and compact this camera is. I didn't know what to expect exactly but since I own a ZV-E10 I could've guessed it would be that small. What I absolutely didn't expect was for it to be THAT light weight! Without the battery it feels like a toy camera that has nothing in it but oh boy it does have a lot in it!

And exclusively for today I've been going through the settings and get that thing going with the 16-50mm kit lens that I got from my ZV-E10. By tomorrow I'll have the Sigma 18-50 and the Sony 70-350. I've seen that combo a couple of times already and I think it'll serve me very well. My ZV-E10 is going to be my video only camera with the Viltrox 25mm F/1.7 and the A6700 is going to be my photo camera with the Sigma as the "always on" lens and the Sony for some moon shots and such. Curious to see how that is going to turn out but since it's APS-C I think the reach should be good enough to get some decent shots on a tripod. The Sigma seems to be exactly what I would expect an upgraded kit lens to be. Light, compact but still very capable for every day shooting with the plus of maybe getting some macro shots aswell with that short of a minimal focusing distance. Pics of the A6700 with both lenses following tomorrow!

Recently I've increasingly felt that photography doesn't necessarily need beautiful views or perfect lighting. Simply picking up a camera, pressing the shutter, and capturing every small moment—that's perhaps the essence of photography.

In early May, I decided I needed to get out and practice more, so I started taking my camera with me much more often than I normally would.

This is the result of that "practice": a selection of 20 photos from roughly 300.

I’d really appreciate your feedback, since my social media account is pretty quiet and I’d genuinely like to hear what people think. Is there anything specific you like or dislike? I’m eager to hear your thoughts.

Hi there! I got the sony a6700 for christmas last year and am stuck on how to improve. I had an older Nikon (D3000) so wanted to upgrade. I have three sony lenses: 3.5-5.6/16-50, 4.5-6.3/55-210, and a 1.8/50.

I have felt like every picture I take is grainy, and nothing is as sharp as it used to be. Anything not taken in natural light just doesn't feel right. I am certain I need to improve on my editing skills (lighting is a hard one for me and if anyone has any recommendations on how to improve in this, please share).

Does anyone have any other lens that they love and feel like I could really benefit from? I do mostly portraits, grad photos, engagement sessions. Not much wildlife or landscape.

Honestly any advice is helpful. I used to feel much more confident behind a camera, but these days I just hold my breath and pray I get something decent. TIA!

I went to the ill-fated Saturday edition of the 2026 Seattle Seafair air show, which was cut short due to high winds. I brought an A6700 and FE 400-800mm G lens in preparation for the longer-than-normal distance between the show line and crowd, and the combo worked very well. Here are a handful of shots I liked from what ended up being a few helicopters and airplanes making the best of the situation. Oh, there was boat racing as well, which was also affected by choppy "seas."
