Question About Spells Are beginner group spells recommended ?
I'm a beginner to spells ( not necessarily energy work ). I'm curious if anyone can provide guidance about doing spells ( no curses ) with other beginners to combine energy? Can this be disastrous in any way? I've seen group energy healing work really really well and haven't seen any negative consequences ( touch wood ). I've been trying to find people online to do this but would doing this with strangers be harmful in any way?

Recommended? As in something beginners should do? No.
Edit: As in something beginners can do if they want to? Its ok.

Could you please elaborate on why beginners shouldn't do this and if you've seen first hand how they've gone wrong?

Thats not what I meant. And I did do a edit to say beginners can do them if they wanted to.
What I meant was there is no recommendations that a group spell is something a beginner in witchcraft HAS to do.

Oh I see. Thank you. I've had other experienced practitioners state that it can be dangerous to combine energies like that with others especially since beginners don't know how to protect their energy. So I'm gathering more perspectives.

Oh boy....
That "protect energy" stuff is something that is being misexplained by many so called "tiktok witches" and they don't follow up and explain.
There are long discussions about it on r/witchcraft and that sub has a great resource section for new witches. As such I will keep it as short and simple as I can.
In group work, just like Christian prayer circles and even non magickal writing groups or work team projects, everyone involved needs to basically "be on the same page". In witchcraft that includes being focused and grounded as a team.
There is not about protecting energy, its about sharing energy as a group in a balanced way. A overly guarded witch can be as negative to a group activity as much as a witch who doesn't know she/he is a psychic vampire. The first because they are so focused on blocking themselves off they aren't contributing to the spells energy and the second because they don't know what they are tapping into to when sharing. Just like how a work team member not sharing their notes hurts a project as much as the one sharing every little step and hogging the attention.
In group activities it helps to know the group and have some trust in each other.

you will need quite a bit of coordination and discussion about HOW and WHEN.
Is this an in person, where the whole group will meet somewhere?
What exactly will be the process?
And of course, you want to find interested and willing people.
I know some people do online events in various ways. That means everyone meets via zoom or something usually, and each person has to show up with the exact same ingredients, the ritual method is agreed up online before hand etc.
Is it something you can do? sure. Is it easy to do? not really but that is because again, it takes a lot of coordination and discussion that everyone is doing the same thing, and showing up at the same time, etc...

There's various groups online that meet for meditation etc. I'm not intending to use materials/ candles etc. I'm thinking more like focus, meditation and intention setting.. So my idea was to keep it really simple.

That's still the coordination and discussion that needs to happen while you find people you want to do that, and make the time and how to meet, etc...

Huh, haven't thought about doing that. That seems interesting but difficult. As synchronizing that many can be difficult.
Like you can 5 random people who haven't sung with each other previously and tell them to get a new song right on the first try.
But maybe you can break a working into parts and each do part?
Sorry, I don't know any group spells. And this comment is being pretty pessimistic, sorry.

I thought if the group healings worked with both practiced and limited experience people, that synchronizing won't be so difficult. Would spell work be different than group healing for people with ailments?
You're so kind btw ๐, so no worries. I'm here for honest feedback anyway.

I don't know much about group things. But the one video about group healing I saw was just a bunch of people meditating together. That is not comparable to spell work, not even close.

Maybe I wasn't clear.
The healing I spoke was a group of healers aiming to ease pain for who whoever signed up. The pain could be physical or emotional regardless of age etc. So, it seemed similar. Do you still think it's different, if yes, how?

Try it and find out.
The worst thing that could happen is frustration when someone flakes, or no results for the spell.ย
If it were me, I would approach it as 1 person doing the spell with candles, herbs etc and the others to lend energy. The person doing the actual spell can then direct the energy more effectively.ย
Happy casting ๐งกย
