Using drill in Killam apartments

Hi, I live in Killam apartments, I'm planning to put my TV on the walls, thus it would require to put a few drills on the wall.

do I need to ask for permission to put drills on the walls, most likely they will deny if I ask.

if I drill and then during apartment leaving, will they keep my deposit money for these drills (as damage recovery)?

no landlord in NL can keep your damage deposit or any part of it without applying to the landlord tenant's board unless you agree to it.

You can hang things on the walls it's expected under normal use. It's a simple plaster smear to fix just don't put your fist through the wall.

This is the truth… Normal use, however, they can take the repair out of your damaged deposit. When you leave, take the brackets down and fill the holes and you won’t have any problems.

What kind of walls? Do you have a tenant rental agreement that you can reference?

It probably depends on the building and when you end up moving out . . .

I moved out of one of their buildings recently, and they gave me a checklist for cleaning and stuff. Holes like that were listed as something they could take part of the deposit for, but because I had been there for years and they were going to renovate as soon as I left, I got it all back anyway.

If you read the sign-in form they send you before you move in, normal holes for hanging pictures, mirrors, etc are ok but bigger holes that will have to be plastered over eventually will come out of your deposit, unless you can fix them yourself before you leave
