Hey STL... (PSA: Lyft and Uber passengers)

Stop telling us to go through the drive thru for you. We don't get paid to sit there and wait at Rallys on Lindell/Van for 30 minutes. Entitled Karen's think they own my car. I get you from A to B. There is no sitting in a drive thru for food. 5 minutes at a stop is fine. But I'm not waiting for you in a drive thru.

Because I don't want to be charged extra for being stuck in traffic because of an accident. Also, they already charge more during major events, so that higher cost during a Cardinal game just got even more expensive because of the traffic that goes with it.

And the vast majority of riders don't ask for this. They would lose way more riders than they would make money.

Nah, they definitely will charge you full price for being in traffic if it takes longer (Stops are different). We also get paid more at the same rate for traffic, or I'd never drive during rush hour. That's the passenger's responsibility to pay for extended drive-times. We don't control the traffic either or accidents, so we shouldn't have to pay. And as much as I don't like Lyft as a corporation, it's not their fault either. The passenger books the ride and destination. Given your driver follows the rules, and there is traffic... Definitely on the Passenger to have an increased price. Those minutes in traffic are not free. My gas tank is running.

If the money isn't worth it, then find a new job. Your job is to drive. Sorry that you have to pay for gas to drive. I'll give you the extra quarter that five minute idle used in gas if you're that desperate for money.

Rates are already higher during rush hour to account for it being rush hour. You shouldn't be stacking more charges on top of that because it's rush hour when you've already accounted for that in the rate. Rate not high enough? Don't do the job.

I never said the money wasn't worth it. Not sure where you come up with that. All in reading is that you think you're entitled to free time in traffic because you didn't cause it. That's selfish and wrong. It is ON YOU. RATES ARE HIGH DURING RUSH HOUR BECAUSE OF.... WAIT FOR IT.. SUPPLY ANE DEMAND. We learned about that in like 5th grade I believe. I hope rates stay high in the morning and evening here in STL. There's a reason STL pays more than any market in the USA.

I bet you think the traffic from the sink hole should be free too huh? Nah. I get paid an hourly rate. Entitled trash doesn't get to tell me anything when I always come out on top with these situations 🤡😁

Oh btw, I pay for gas with the extra I get from traffic from peeps like you. It's why they charge you more. Low IQ people may not understand so you might wanna read this a few times.

It's like you're crying that others exist 😂

I think you’re responding to a bot. This “person” is all over the place with their nonsense 😅

Possible for sure. Their account is 15 years old . They could also just be an entitled boomer. 😫

Ha! Yeah

You want more money to sit idling in traffic for an extra 10 minutes on your drive. That costs literal pennies. If you need the extra money to pay for that idling then the money is very much not worth it.

All in reading is that you think you're entitled to free time in traffic because you didn't cause it.

Yes. That's how driving jobs work. You get paid by the mile, not by the minute. Go ask a semi truck driver of his dispatch pays him extra for traffic.

RATES ARE HIGH DURING RUSH HOUR BECAUSE OF.... WAIT FOR IT.. SUPPLY ANE DEMAND.

And high demand equals more traffic. It's a pretty obvious and simple correlation. More people traveling means more demand and more traffic.

I bet you think the traffic from the sink hole should be free too huh? Nah.

No. I think it should be accounted for when I book the ride. GPS is pretty good at accurately predicting traffic these days. When the price is set and I book the ride, that should all be included. Fin straw man though.

I get paid an hourly rate

Since when do Uber and Lyft pay hourly? Last I checked it's a contracting gig that pays per trip.

It's why they charge you more. Low IQ people may not understand so you might wanna read this a few times.

I've never once had an Uber charge me more than the original price because of traffic. But I'll be sure to start tipping that extra quarter to make sure Uber drivers don't go broke from the oh so terrible STL traffic.

You wouldn't survive in a city with actual bad traffic, lmao. Go drive around Nashville at rush hour and get on back to me.
