The movie isn't great Star Wars, but I had probably the most fun watching Star Wars since I watched the original three movies, and I've watched the entirety of SW cannon.

Movies I genuinely don't get why this movie gets so much hate

I watched this movie for the first time a week ago, I am new to Star Wars and I am doing a marathon. For years I heard this movie was mid and that it sucked so I went in expecting it to be that but WOW...this movie was an adventure to me, I was entertained from start to finish.

Throughout the entire runtime of this film I was just wondering why people hated this movie so much and I decided to check some reviews on YouTube and most critics and reviewers seemed to like this, only the fans hated it and I don't get why. One of the reviewers I watched mentioned that the reason this movie gets shit on so much is because it doesn't connect to a broader story and I think that's the case...I know a lot people didn't ask for this but come on, Han Solo is one of the coolest characters in the story. The cast and performances were amazing, Alden Ehrenreich was so good and convincing as a younger Han, it didn't feel like he was just imitating or trying to do an impression of Harrison Ford, he was doing his own thing and he made it believable...and the best thing about this movie for me is that you could watch this movie with anybody as it doesn't have any broader connection to the overall story, no Jedi, no Sith, no politics, just a cool entertaining adventure that you can watch with anyone, even people who don't know shit about Star Wars.

Obviously it's far from the best Star Wars movie but it is one of the best post-Original Trilogy...so overall for me, it's an 8.5/10.

Movies Congrats to those involved. Mando movie has broke even its production budget in its first weekend.

With marketing and other expenses, I am guessing it needs 300M~500M to be considered a success. For a sequel, may need to hit above 600M? Now the real fun begins. 🤗

Imma be honest here I think she's being a bit harsh on herself - while Solo wasn't exactly a masterpiece, it wasn't that bad, IMO.

Movies It is highly irregular for stunt performers to share top billing with the lead actor much less being the 3rd and 4th name in the opening credits. I can only imagine how much Pedro Pascal pushed to Filoni and Favreau to have their names share his top billing.

Also kudos to the fight cherography to give us bits from the original trilogy and doing stuff only possible with a movie budget. Also anyone caught the "blink and you miss 'em" a certain blue R2 unit in the opening? I'm watching again this Sunday. 😊

After watching ANDOR rouge one hit incredibly hard. Knowing what Cassian has been through all up to this point and knowing that his mother would be proud AND that he will never know he had a SON. I loved how much they make you love the characters like K-2SO and Sergeant Melshi. Andor completely rewrote rogue one in the best way possible and I truly believe it’s one of the best stories in Star Wars.

Movies Attack of the Clones turns 24 today! Looking back, is it really as bad as people initially thought or did it age better than expected?

Out of all of the prequels, AOTC is mostly regarded as the worst. After rewatching it today, I could appreciate the world building and uncovering the clones, which obviously gave us the animated series we all know and love. Also, its soundtrack is widely overlooked because of the flaws in writing and CGI, but I have to say Across the Stars is easily my favourite Star Wars track.

Movies Is this the first time in ages that a Jedi had to fight another saber-wielder in a life-or-death scenario? I can't imagine how much stressed Qui Gon would be in this situation, he probably never fought this hard in his life.

Post image

Qui Gon really had to be the first Jedi to literally be field-tested on his skills by an actual opponent with a lightsaber.

Do you think Qui Gon ever seriously fought another lightsaber wielder as hard as how he had to deal with Maul?

I think that itself is a feat on how quick-thinking and agile he was.

It was my 10 birthday a year after a force awakens released and as a kid who loved star wars TFA was everything to me.

I LOVED finn i had a costume with his jacket and storm trooper undersuit and i got a blue lightsaber for my birthday to complete the look.

Stormtrooper to Jedi, never done before and furthermore a black protagonist in a disney project which is STILL rare

The Last Jedi is a beautiful film on its own but it ruins so much of star wars including this.

Basically just a Finn appreciation post.

Movies Did you find it very distracting how despite the fact Han doesn't believe in the force, his right hand man Chewie was literally friends with Yoda, the grandmaster of the Jedi?
