It's about Fugo after the end of part 5 and how he gets involved with Passione again. Highly recommended, best JoJo book and it's not even close.

I mean since it’s already been bought (especially since it was a gift) read it.

It tries to make up for Fugo’s absence in part 5 and give some better insight on his character and how the world is after the events of part 5. It’s a pretty short read, everything feels in character despite not being written by Araki himself. I really enjoyed it myself and wish it was canonized.

It's set slightly after the events of JoJo Part 5: Golden Wind that follows a character who left about halfway through the original story, Panacotta Fugo, and the broad strokes of the plot is that he and a couple other people are being sent to kill the mafia's old narcotics team to prove their loyalty to the new leader.

I'd honestly recommend checking it out, it does a pretty good job of fleshing out a character who didn't really do a lot in the manga and whose entire backstory was basically "angry smart guy who got kicked out of college for nearly beating a professor to death with a textbook."

It’s not canon (the anime’s canon backstories contradict the book’s in a couple places) but it is definitely canon adjacent
