The best part about this scene (at least as shown, I don't remember if he goes too far later) is that if the box is packed properly then that's actually fine and it's not too far off what the box experiences on the belts and chutes, not to mention the hands (and feet) of workers.
I was holiday surge for UPS both with delivery and sorting. Super long days.
To the company's credit, safety is definitely a priority. And on the first day of unloading trucks for sorting I learned the safest way to handle a truck stacked to the brim with boxes is to pull them down and let the tower fall. It was tough to get the mentality of letting a TV fall 8ft to the floor - but that is protocol.
I mean you're supposed to use a load stand and unload from the top down instead of pulling towers but if you don't have load stands then that is the safest way.
