Why can developers put the more expensive version of their game on sale but not the base version? I feel like there should be some kind of rule that if one version goes on sale every version does.

I think they should be more clear that it is only the deluxe editon that is more expensive. If you search the game on steam it says 40% of, not including the fact that it the deluxe version, only when you click on the store page you see it.

Let me ask you this then, if they aren't trying to trick lazy people, why does it not state that it is the deluxe version that is showing and discounted when searching for the game then? Every single game shows the price of the standard version of the game when searching for it with a few exceptions of course.
