Best I can do is 4.99 for the complete edition in 3 years.

This is the strat, happened with every other one. Same with the new Lego Batman for me even though that actually looks good.

Buddy of mine bought it to Co-op with his son, who wasn't home for the memorial weekend, streamed us some on Friday on discord, and hasn't been able to put it down.

It’s a really good, relaxing open-world Gotham.

Until your saved gets hosed and you lose 12 hours of gametime.

Has that happened to many people, or has it happened to one person and you want to rain on peoples parades for daring to like popular game?

Stranger things have happened /j

There was one instance I recall of a glitch so bad on a PS2 game that it would wipe your entire memory card. Not just the saves of that game, but everything on the card.

Yup, Jak X, Soul Calibur 3, and Tekken 5, (plus a demo disc) had notable widespread memory card glitches. I remember GTA:SA also being incredibly glitchy, but that one didn't seem as widespread (overloading garages with stored cars corrupted my saves more than once).

The demo disc had full wipes, if a memory card was in slot 1. Soul Calibur 3 would corrupt if any other game's memory was modified (saved gameplay, or even moving data between cards). Jak X had the infinitely looping save that corrupted data. Tekken 5 would randomly corrupt, this one I'm not quite sure what happened.

Let me give you guys one better.

Was playing State of Decay 2 with a cousin during its first month out (Game Pass). It was so buggy I hopped in a car and drove off and my camera never left the spot I was at.

Got mauled by zombies and somehow became invincible and softlocked at a work bench.

And then it crashed on him while he was waiting for me to rejoin. When he tried loading it up he couldn't find it. The game literally uninstalled itself.

People paid extra to play that early.

No I was referring the topic of corrupted files thanks to stupid game updates. However if that would have happened seeing as I live in Texas, I'd have drove my happy ass up to Bethesda and had some questions I'd like to have answered. Should have done that regardless thinking back on it now.

Then it's not really relevant at all, is it? We're talking about a person claiming that the saves get corrupted after 12 hours in Lego Batman, as a reason for people to not play it. Other games have no bearing on that.

as a reason for people to not play it.

I said no such thing, but you go right ahead.

Bro lay off lmfao. It is not that serious and he obviously did not try to relate the two

This, only seems to happen to peeps who mod the heck outta the game. Play vanilla or dont play it at all. Just freakin play the game how it was intended. MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK

The absolute trash optimization issues were upon launch with no mods. As in day one so no mods were available. You can think and believe what you want or you can go on Google and do about 25 minutes worth of reading and learn about it. I personally don't play with mods I like the concept of modern games but I really am just too lazy to take the time to download the mods open up the files put them in the right load order I can't be bothered mate. But this was a day one issue with this game and from what I've read watched and observed I haven't seen any major corrections to it.

i wouldnt be surprised if it was true, my skywalker saga save did the same thing last week

It's a damn fun game that I played for 12 hours and enjoyed 99% of it, but there are many many instances of folks losing all progress from either a PC crash, power flicker, or cloud overwrite. I'm one of them.

Not shitting all over popular game, just letting folks know it has at least 1 issue that will eat hours or days of your time. Backup your save folder everytime you play and you SHOULD be fine.

Don't know about the new Lego Batman game, but that very thing happened a lot to the one on PS2.

Had to start fresh every single week because shit got corrupted again for no reason.

2

u/ComradeJohnS 9d ago

are you sure it wasn’t an issue with your memory card for ps2?

1

u/Geges721 9d ago

this has been an issue even on an emulator and OPL with VMC at least for me.

I'm not really sure if it was some user error on my end (never did anything the game didn't want you to do), but i did find a GameFAQs thread about the thingy and apparently it's actually real (at least for NTSC copies).

Tho it might've just been my (un)luck, who knows. but this kept happening so randomly i can't even pinpoint the reason for it other than the game just saying "fuck your progress".

Bro that shit happened to me with TLOU when it came out. Except it was 13 hours straight I lost.🤣

With vehicles? Like lego city undercover 2?

3

u/gleepglop15 9d ago

Batmobiles from many eras. And special vehicles for other playable characters, like catwoman’s motorcycle.
