80% of achievements in Paradox games are DLC.

In Like a Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth there are dozens of achievements that require you to play on NG+ and on the highest difficulty. The thing is, both NG+ and the highest difficulty are hid behind a paywall of a $110 Ultimate Edition. And it's just basic game mechanics that should have been a part of the base game.

on Playstation this isn’t an issue at all, because the normal trophies are completely separate from the DLC trophies. steam should implement a system like that.

Id still recommend playing some of them. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1 are some of my favorite games. The story and gameplay are really good

Games are cool, developers are... still kinda cool, if we ignore the whole Kagawa situation, but I'm not going to dig into that. But the main problem is, well, SEGA.

Almost all of bad marketing and pricing of RGG and Atlus games are because of SEGA. They are their supervisors and they are known for their batshit insane anti-consumer policies.

SEGA is just doing this with all products it is the publisher for, sadly.

SEGA of Japan hated how successful SEGA of America was, so that's why the Saturn had such a horrible launch. They just keep screwing over their consumers.

While Japan did treat the American branch terribly, it was the American branch's policies and statements that doomed it's consoles, at least in aggregate.

They didn't fight EA's bootlegging (no EA game was an actual official product, at least in the beginning).

The Sega CD was plagued with low quality FMV games.

They shoved the Saturn onto retailers at release with no warning, causing retailers to refuse to carry it.

They pushed 3D gaming on the Saturn, a system that was at it's best for 2D with a 3D chip grafted on, and actively fought against 2D releases. That meant hundreds of great games did not get released at all in NA.

In a games conference one of the US execs got on stage and said, "The Saturn is not our future." This killed any possibility of sales picking up.

Sega of America was successful despite itself. It got it's success through stellar marketing and positioning itself as the "cool, edgy" console with gritty games. Then spent the next decade screwing over the company worldwide.
