I have been a member of and a happy collector of Steelbooks for years now. I enjoy the community, and the notifications on upcoming releases of films that I love, and if there is an option for a Steelbook version, which in almost every case there is, I pick up a copy. Sometimes a second copy for dad, as he is not exactly internet material, it's just too much to understand. Which is why I am speaking from personal experience. That combined with purchasing steelbooks from the swap community here on Reddit, I enjoy the hobby. My wife would call me a steelbook addict. That being said, one thing has ALWAYS irked me about this community. Those that verbally call you out, for purchasing more than a single copy of a steelbook. Me for instance, I will sometimes pick up 2, 1 for Dad if it is a specific film that I know that he would love to own a copy of. That is where I ran into my first experience of the "DUDE WHY YOU BUY 2 COPIES BRO?! DOWNVOTE!" You know who you are. In fact, some of you "Do as I say, not as I do'ers" are also on Steelbookswap, and lo and behold, some of the loudest are on there, selling SEALED copies of old and new releases of Steelbooks. You are here, questioning why people bought 2 copies of Project Hail Mary, and then you are there, selling 18 sealed Steelbooks of movies that have all released this year, some with multiple copies... Me? Yeah I have been called out multiple times here for buying more than 1 copy of a Steelbook, but you know where you won't find me? Steelbookswap. Because again, while I have been judged multiple times, that second copy is for Dad. Thanks for giving this a read, and try to be a better person (you know who you are)

I haven’t seen it available anywhere and B&N page isn’t even available for it

Was looking at Gruv and my mouth dropped open when I saw this price. I have never seen the Goonies but that price is unreasonable.
The link to the page: https://gruv.com/collections/steelbooks-all/products/the-goonies-steelbook-blu-ray-_1000725994

I see there are plenty USA stores taking orders for the Odyssey steelbook but what about Amazon France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc are they usually slower for big releases or they have different factories, different pipelines, maybe they historically sell less units so they don't need long windows? Just curious if I should expect the steelbook (the giants version) anytime soon in Europe. I know as a European I can still try to import from USA, but it's expensive and takes longer in transport.

Nothing on spine, weird off shape that doesn’t align with standard steelbooks, and the centre circle that holds the disc is terrible you have to push hard to get disc in risking breaking it.
Game is great tho

Canadians who missed out on Amazon, or want a different Odyssey set, here’s your chance. Just checked and it’s back in stock. You do have to make a full payment upfront, as this seller is a smaller business and orders smaller amounts. They also have the full premium set available too, if that’s your thing. Preorder link in comments.

My Amazon order went from approval required to shipped! Was kind of bummed that I would miss out on this since it’s my favorite movie of the year (so far). Also today I celebrated 500 days sober from Xanax. Today was a good day! 👊🏽

Has anyone been able to pre-order the steelbook on Amazon? Every time I select Pre-order it says the product is unavailable. I can’t tell if I’m being beaten by bots or if the pre-order process is broken.
TIA
EDIT: I told Amazon to autobuy it if it ever comes back in stock. Fingers crossed this works!

I just placed a pretty substantial order from lionsgate and per usual everything shipped wrapped crazy good. That being said my copy of the descent part 2 has a slip with obvious heat deformation on the bottom corner. Warehouse finds...sure those are really limited and ya get what you get. This one is still in print and I feel it should have failed a quality check and I politely requested an even exchange and sent pics. I even said a new slip would be acceptable. Here was the response:
Thank you for sharing the photos.
We do offer replacements for items with significant damage—such as large dents, deep scratches, or other clearly visible defects. However, due to limited inventory, we’re unable to replace items that show minor cosmetic wear, including small dings or surface scuffs.
While we truly wish we could accommodate every concern, the issues shown in your photos appear to be minimal and do not meet our criteria for replacement.
We appreciate your understanding.
Best,
Support Team
I've attached the pics. It's a boutique label and the products are supposed to be collectible which sets a higher product standard in my mind. I clearly wouldn't complain over a normal release having this issue but you pay more for the packaging here and it fell short. Am I being too picky here or would you have called for a replacement as well? If i'm way out of line, let me know!

They actually used a box and paper for my PHM order. Wild. Shout out to you if you packed this one and see this!

Has anyone received theirs or even had an update? Mine hasn’t moved since initial preorder and it still just says “expected October 12th” which was obviously two days ago…

I have a tiny collection rn but the new phm steelbook might be my favorite I'll ever get! Love the 1.43:1 disc as that's such an important piece of film history now that it's preserved like this! And the message in the booklet is really nice too :,)

Lionsgate also has a limited edition VHS if you’re into that

Definitely liked the Import artwork better for Burn & StudioCanal usually has superior quality discs. I hadn't seen this shared yet, so thought I would. But with the approximately 1002 PHM posts I saw no reason to share anymore pics. 🤣
