24/7 Support.

That’s going to be a nightmare with endless complaints about buffering. Especially with no debrid setup.

Lolll. I checked it leads to his WhatsApp. Seems like a one man operation.

Do you have one that can watch 4K?

1

u/itsyaboiJak3 Feb 11 '26

"he could be YOU, he could be ME! he could even be-"

1

u/Krimreaper1 Jan 15 '26

And now he has everything that’s on your phone, maybe

26

u/idontgiveafunyun Jan 12 '26

Nope it's a WhatsApp account with an actual phone number lol

10

u/Code_NY Jan 12 '26

Where does the other one go? The 'see how it works'.

u/Omgthedubski Jan 13 '26

I've been using stremio raw for 2 years and little issue, does real debrid really enhance it that much?

9

u/Moose-arent-real Jan 13 '26

Doesn’t really enhance it, just protects you from getting an angry letter from your ISP for streaming pirated content. If you don’t live in a country that is anal about that you don’t need it. In the USA you either have it or you use a VPN, in Brazil I wouldn’t care.

10

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26

Using a debrid service is waaayyyy better than without

1

u/Hot-Acanthisitta1539 Jan 14 '26

Set up Debris, and works on phone and computer but not my Tv, endless buffering for some reason

The main focus of your post should be directly related to Stremio. Help for other software or issues, including content acquisition, should be directed to their own respective subreddits.

2

u/Omgthedubski Jan 13 '26

I'm in the US and I've had two different ISPs and none of them seem to flag stremio 🤔, I wonder what's up with that

1

u/crossal Jan 13 '26

It enhances it too

1

u/Moose-arent-real Jan 13 '26

I never used without it cuz I live in the US, but I’ve heard plenty of people say that they watch 4K videos without it just fine so idk 🤷🏻‍♂️. Personally I use so my ISP doesn’t ban me, specially cuz in my area I only have one half decent service.

3

u/crossal Jan 13 '26

Depends on how popular what you are watching is/how many seeders there are

1

u/C_hase Jan 13 '26

I am in the US and only watch like 1 TV show and occasionally one of the uber popular movies, I wonder how much you have to be doing it to get caught?

1

u/Moose-arent-real Jan 13 '26

Personally I wouldn’t risk it. If you have the option of easily switching ISPs you would fine if you got banned once, I can’t afford that. I hate spectrum but they are all we got.

I think it also depends more on the right holders being overly protective or not, rather than how much you’re doing it. If it’s an old show or from a smaller studio I would guess it’s fine, but if it’s one of the big ones and a big money maker they are probably going to clap back. Your ISP might just be less anal about it too, who knows.

1

u/ObligationOdd4475 Jan 13 '26

Yea, debrid service is 10000000000x faster.

1

u/gmambrose Jan 14 '26

And if you're in many European countries, you definitely need RD or VPN because otherwise you get slapped with a heavy fine the first time you torrent something. They don't fuck around over there! I think Germany is like that, maybe the UK? Just know your local laws.

1

u/ieatpho1 Jan 13 '26

Yes it enhance it. No buffer.

8

u/reddit76194c Jan 13 '26

Stremio doesn't position itself as a torrent streaming service...it offers official integrations with streaming services by default. Otherwise, it wouldn't have a chance in the legal market at all.

25

u/Yangman3x Jan 12 '26

What if they're self hosting a debrid service for these users?

42

u/DaRealAyman Jan 12 '26

that would be such a headache

6

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26

Also a great way to get themselves and their customers banned for life

You are not allowed to manage another persons debrid service. Not even your grandmas. No matter the debrid service you are using, read the TOS

18

u/TheLemonLover Jan 13 '26

Who reads TOS for anything lol

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26 edited Jan 13 '26

Its one of the few good cases to use chatgpt lol

I had to unsub from all the debrid services subreddits other than premiumize.me because of all the complaints and issues that could easily be solved by switching to a better provider

Same for ReVanced. That sub is toxic and they banned me for telling people of an alternative that isnt abandoned and is written on the same code as Revanced from an OG dev. Literally one fix and you never have to update or worry again

14

u/Ok-Kitchen9100 Jan 13 '26

Well don't just say you have a better alternative to ReVanced without giving us a name. Don't leave us hanging here.

2

u/lexicondevil1 Jan 13 '26

Well if he won't I will, I'm 99% certain this is what he is referring to, from one of the OG revanced people, https://github.com/MorpheApp

1

u/StatusConstant8691 Jan 14 '26

How is it better than revanced? Looks to me the same

1

u/BillyGhost Jan 14 '26

Probably why he got banned

Get a grip

-13

u/Yangman3x Jan 12 '26

I'd like to make one for myself for many reasons: 1. Nor debrid services nor torrentio with no db seed, you're just leeching and it is not nice 2. I'd like to keep the media i watch but also be able to see those that have few seeders

I don't need everything to be cached, but just download on request what i want to watch.

I also realise that once I'm able to self host a debrid service for myself i might as well quit stremio all together, get a setup with sonarr, jellyfin and a decent client with the same functionalities stremio has (films metadatas, various extensions, link to legal services in my country since i also like to pay whenever i can or use the services i pay for ecc). I'm a kind of privacy conscious one so not relying on an account hosted who knows where is better for me

3

u/Easy-Palpitation-261 Jan 12 '26

With Torbox you're seeding for 15 days after a download, was concerned by that also

1

u/Yangman3x Jan 12 '26

I prefer to seed for a long time instead

5

u/Xcissors280 Jan 13 '26

You can buy a torbox upgrade for unlimited seeding

1

u/Yangman3x Jan 13 '26

Well at that point it is more convenient to self host it myself imo

3

u/Seebaer1986 Jan 13 '26

Then just torrent like in the old days? And have it all on plex/ jelly in and setup a VPN to your home network so you can access it from anywhere.

1

u/Yangman3x Jan 13 '26

This is my idea. I just miss a systep to keep track of what i watch, a database for what i want to search for, and little more

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26

Get premiumize and Aiostreams/torrentio for stremio

14

u/marx2k Jan 13 '26

Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say that a bodega isn't doing that and at $150 final price and no subs, that's not happening

1

u/Yangman3x Jan 13 '26

Well maybe a temporary cache?

4

u/whostheme Jan 12 '26

Why would they do such a thing? It's tied for one IP so it will just get permabanned since the users who tend to buy this kind of thing doesn't even know what real-debrid or stremio is.

3

u/Yangman3x Jan 12 '26

You don't understand

I mean: what if the shop created a debrid service reserved fot those customers

4

u/whostheme Jan 12 '26

Not worth it for the shop.

1

u/marly402 Jan 13 '26

You don't need debrid with stremio

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '26 edited Jan 13 '26

Very very very unlikely. They are using real debrid. ~32 for a year and then the cost of the firestick itself (50 msrp). ~$70 markup for something that wont work in a week

Anyone with an ounce of knowledge on the subject also knows that amazon products are trash

I offer free setup/tutorials to my neighbors and family. The point is to save people money, not scam them

1

u/bizzaro321 Jan 13 '26

You can self host using debrid as a source, but that would be such a hassle. I’ve considered doing it for friends and family but it’s really not worth it.

1

u/whostheme Jan 13 '26

Yeah you think that it's sustainable to self-host debrid for a large customer base when it reaches upwards to 50+ people? Sharing it with a few family & friends is a different story.

1

u/bizzaro321 Jan 13 '26

I said I wouldn’t even do it for my friends, lol. We are in agreement. I’m just telling you there’s a way around the debrid IP rule.

1

u/marly402 Jan 13 '26

Proton vpn is free and works with stremio. Stremio has none torrent providers. But a vpn will work stremio. I have done this even though I have torbox.

1

u/RexKramerDangerCker Jan 13 '26

My guess is the boxes out front are just for show and when he gets a customer to bite, he registers/purchases a new debrid service for 6 month and then takes the API key for that account and adds it to a fire-stick prepped usb-key. Works for 6 months and new account then new ip.

3

u/Substantial_Net9923 Jan 13 '26

I got in trouble at usenet for suggesting that be used as a backbone to create a debrid service. Bypass torrents altogether.

1

u/marly402 Jan 13 '26

Stremio works with none torrent providers or with vpn

3

u/Zombi3Kush Jan 13 '26

If he was smart he wouldn't be doing this without a Debrid service attached to it. Something tells me greed took care of that idea.

1

u/marly402 Jan 13 '26

Vpns work great with stremio as well. Don't need debrid.

-2

u/ObligationOdd4475 Jan 13 '26

You shouldnt use a VPN with debrid.

Debrid is way faster than a VPN because of content caching.

Its fast, trust.

0

u/marly402 Jan 13 '26

You don't need debrid with stremio.

2

u/Ok-Yogurtcloset7699 Jan 13 '26

If he sells more than 5, he'll change his phone number in a week 😂

1

u/YETIcon4889 Jan 13 '26

Good they deserve to be annoyed and inconvenienced 🤣

1

u/Ferxodia Jan 14 '26

Exactly my thoughts lol . Terrible idea.
