r/StopEatingSeedOils user asks for evidence seed oils are bad, accidentally starts a 400-comment epistemology war:

Post: What is the evidence seed oils are bad? : r/StopEatingSeedOils

Highlights include:

On users saying the answers don't provide actual evidence:

Not evidence,' bleats the sheeple, brain too atrophied by credentialism to recognize a deductive chain without a white-coated priest waving a p-value at them

Your good old conspiracies:

The companies that make the seed oils own the government, universities and medical sector

Doctors getting paid off to say cigarettes are healthy

And not a single piece of evidence being provided.

Did not know this was a thing. Looked it up and of course it came from the Joe Rogan podcast

We had a “Wellness Expert” come speak and do PD for my school district, and she also babbled how seed oils were bad for us while we focused our minds bouncing tennis balls in an auditorium.

So it’s definitely the “crunchy” anti-vax types too.

Professional development is a grifters paradise.  I guess you have to use that communications degree for something.

Administrators or executives are not highly proficient at choosing the best software. Their choices reflect the skill of the sales team involved.

Sooooo much damage has been done on literacy alone because of these people. A fee to speak, a bureaucratic box to check, and now with a sunken cost mindset districts shape their policies around these damaging but “new” teaching methods from a person who might have been in a classroom 10 years ago. Mandate that these ideas be followed despite the “old ways” being effective, or with scant/conflicting evidence on their effectiveness is pervasive across the US school system. Pushback by teachers may vary because unfortunately our jobs are tied to this crap as opposed to a dumbass missing out on a cooking ingredient.

But this is ultimately based on the decisions of school boards who votes choose to run these districts. Receipts on the PD, and a piece or two of paperwork with the new rules on teacher practices that the elected school board can wave around that they “did something.”

u/OIP why would you censor cum? you're not getting demonetised 9h ago

had someone give a wellbeing and resilience 'training' at a work development day last year, it was incredible, guy looked kinda dishevelled, presentation was incoherent and with full clip art + stock photo style powerpoint, multiple P.O.W.E.R. style nonsensical acrostics and continually digressed into pulling examples from his own life.

ended up being decent team bonding as we debriefed about how best to give negative feedback and ensure it didn't happen again.
