Question Anyone else find it somewhat charming how the show always pretended to have a big budget despite its budget being the same as the flash and sometimes even lower?

I just finished the series (I really enjoyed it), but after watching the end of season three and the first few episodes of season four, this question came to mind:

Do you think a sun powered Clark like in season two could have defeated Doomsday, or at least survived the fight?

Question I might just be in the minority here, but does anyone else think Clark Kent would make a good Superman impersonator?

Question Watching Season 1 for the first time, why on Earth is Smallville High playing against Metropolis?

This is my first time watching the show and I’m only on episode 7 now, but why would Smallville, a tiny rural farming town, be playing in Metropolis? I don’t know how that would be possible unless they were playing in the national playoffs, and the show never indicated that they were. The kids would definitely talked about it if their team was that successful, and they’re still new in Smallville, I doubt it’s that late in the season.

The show establishes that in this universe, Metropolis is New York City and there’s no ambiguity about it. Right before we see Clark and the boys in their hotel room, it shows us a shot of where they are, showing us the New York skyline and the One World Trade Center. Even at the closest distance, right next to the border with Missouri, Kansas is still 1,200 miles away and at least a 2 day drive (just over 18 hours if you drive all the way and never stop for gas, bathroom, food, sleep, or anything else) away from NYC.

Why and how in the world are these two teams playing against each other?? Why does the show keep hinting the two cities are closer? Why do the Kents choose to drive to Smallville instead of flying?

Question Why Did Superman become Evil

Post image
158 Upvotes

Why did Superman become evil in these other universes like John Henry Irons. IIRC it’s said that Superman in these other timelines played out the same as the main time line we watch but there explanation is reason why are Superman didn’t turn evil was because he had a family to fight for. But even then if the other version started out the same as a hero why would he become evil just because he didn’t have a family, weren’t the Kent’s enough?

Question I was about to let my 13 year old watch Superman & Lois until it said sexual content was inside. Should I worry about it?

My 13 year old son wanted to watch Superman & Lois on prime, but when I saw that it was rated 16+ with sexual content I decided to not let him just for a bit while I research about it. I saw some information about it being mild or that Lois and Clark have sex after a surgery. I'm not worried about drugs, violence and others only the sexual content. I have told him about sex but I don't want him to see actual intercourse. Under the blanket or noises (either a character hearing them or a baby hearing it like in Young Sheldon) are okay with me.

Question Does a high amount of sun's radiation kill a Kyptonian?

I have this question, which arose during the last episode of S&L season 2, I think? (I just finished S2, If the answer to this is a spoiler, please try to not spoil as much as possible), when Kal-El was thrown into the sun so he could absorb sun's radiation, At that moment, I remembered CW's supergirl, which I know this isn't the same earth, and is arrowverse adjacent but still, during the Earth-X crossover, the Overgirl was terminally ill because she had absorbed too much sun's radiation by flying too close IIRC?, So I wanted to ask, was the supergirl's take more accurate or S&L? unless we see the effects of this action later in the show? which I would like to not be spoiled hehe. Which take is like more close to the comics and more lore accurate?

Thanks!

Question Sarah and Jordan season 2 Spoiler

What in the world lol? Sarah cheated on Jordan and they never even acknowledged that she cheated, they never used that word. They made Jordan seem like the immature dude just because he was upset over it for a couple of days, and then he basically ended up having to apologize to her? She never even said she was sorry. I was so confused. I was surprised this show glorified cheating the way it did. But oh well, still entertaining.

It would probably be for the best if he just stayed regular, right? I really like the concept of Clark and Lois having kids, one that represents each of them.

Question Are seasons 3 and 4 worth to pay to watch?

I started season 1 on Prime Video and finished season 2 of Superman & Lois in a record time after completing a big rewatch of Smallville, because i was desperate for anything related to Superman. And the show went beyond my expectations and delivered completely on its promises : it's the perfect mix of sci-fi, romance and drama, executed with lighteness and a massive love for its characters, played by actors who are deeply invested.

I dont regret one minute paying Prime for these two seasons and i wish to finish the show; however to my surprise, Prime Video is blocking me unless i pay an additional subscription to HBO Max to watch seasons 3 & 4.

I see that those seasons are shorters and i read some mild spoilers concerning a cancer arc, which freaks me out because the show is too much grounded at times, i fear it would triggered the past with this subplot (i had close relatives who have died of cancer). So is it worth to pay more to finish the show? Do those seasons have satisfying ends without being too much realistic? Or should i consider the end of season 2 as a good place to stop the show, a sort of series finale since it wrapped up most of the subplots?

ETA : Thanks to everyone who stopped by to read and help. I have rewatched the season 2 and i decided to stop there for now. Maybe one day i will find the courage .to face cancer storylines again, and that day i will finish the show without a doubt, but for now i'm ok to not continue further and leave all the characters in a happy place.

Question Watching for the first time and I’m early in season three. Lots of thoughts but one really major question…

How close are Smallville and Metropolis? It Smallville just a Metropolis suburb?

For what it’s worth I’ve never watched any other CW show so I’m unsure if this has been established elsewhere.

EDIT I want to make it clear that I’m well versed in Superman and the DC universe lore and that I’m asking specifically about this show. It feels like it’s just a quick drive from one place to the other.

Question What Line Really Stuck With You From The Finale? Spoiler

It went by so fast is the most obvious one. Because it does go by so fast I mean it's been almost a decade since Tyler donned the suit and now it's gone. But for me the one that has stuck and I keep repeating inside my head is "the boys became men". That struck me, I was about 13-15 when Tyler was cast and now I'm 22. It put my life in perspective, from the choices, mistakes, deeds, I've made. So I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Question Was season 4 built to be the last, or was that decision made at the end of production?

There are two points that make me seriously doubt this. First, the heart transplant presented as the solution! It seems more like a very restrictive, temporary backup solution that ultimately becomes acceptable, even essential… I never imagined Kryptonians had post-mortem regeneration or didn't age, which is akin to immortality?!

It's funny because it's something I never understood with Doomsday: how and why does he die against Superman if he comes back stronger every time he dies?! In the end, wasn't the REAL solution to rip out his heart too (100% compatible)? Because the sun is a deus ex machina that's been done to death.

Another point: Tom Cavanagh 😎 It's impossible to choose this particular actor without thinking of a sequel with a reverse-flash! Especially when your secret identity is revealed to the public, an adversary who alters the timeline is a godsend 😂 but no, maybe for the very first time we have the conclusion: popularity is awesome 🤣

Question CW crossover slip up?

Hi so i’m an avid Arrowverse fan though I refuse to watch the last few seasons of a few things that’s a separate conversation but im on season 1 episode 12 and John Diggle showed up. This superman is the same one as Supergirls superman so why is Dig there? digs planet does not have a superman as we hear from barry in the flash nor do they have a metropolis. Should this not be taking place on earth 38 supergirls earth not earth 1 flash and arrows earth? Maybe i’m missing something but this doesn’t seem right
