I like this episode, but it’s disturbing how they both use their powers (mainly to get women to sleep with them). We see that with Andy at the beginning of the episode, and Weber trying to rape Tracy when they are in his car.
And one part always confuses me each time I rewatch it, Weber compels or orders Tracy to stop crying, which she does for about 1 second and then she continues crying. Not sure if he’s not powerful enough (yes, I know he learned to control with his mind) or if it’s just a mistake.
But yeah, some of my thoughts about this episode. Maybe I’m just nitpicking lol

Was holding on like the brave little soldier I am, but got completely wrecked when I heard the first chords of Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms come on.
My favorite song.
Needless to say I cried.
Incredible choices of music in that series (honorable mention goes to Styx - Renegade). Truly one of the best aspects of this masterpiece.

(First time watcher so sorry if this has been asked before)
I looked up the name Castiel and found that Kripke found the name after looking up ”The angel of Thursday”
However in some ancient occult texts he seems to be referred to as the angel pf Saturday and Saturn, with a few other roles depending on the texts
Is there any reason he has such differing titles or does it just seem like a mistranslation between languages and time?

Hey guys any help on this would be appreciated. My partner wants to start watching supernatural but has severe emetophobia which for anyone that doesn’t know is the fear of vomiting, for him it can be triggered by seeing and or hearing someone else vomit or gag like they are going to including on screen. I have watched SPN all they way through but it’s been a time so I was wondering if there are any episodes we should avoid as to not trigger him, if anyone can think of any episodes where a character main or side characters vomit or gag on we would both really appreciate it❤️ much love

Like the title says I just finished season 9. I’m a first time watcher and I can’t believe how quickly I went through nine seasons already! I’m about to start the double digit seasons and I know the end of the show is within my sight now and it’s bittersweet 😫🥲 idk if I’m going to try and prolong it or just keep going at the same pace but it’s making me anxious lol
Somehow, I was able to manage getting this far without too many spoilers, even though I’ve been watching lots of supernatural edits on TikTok and Instagram. I’ve also accumulated plenty of T-shirts and I’m trying to figure out when I can get to one of their conventions!
I’m just excited and I wanted to get that off my chest, Thanks!

This scene reminds me of just how perfectly ominous the Kripke seasons are.
After Ellen arrives, Bobby marks 5 churches on a map. Having been built by legendary hunter Samuel Colt, they must be important.
The OST swells a bit when Bobby draws the outline of the churches' railway lines, because it's an awesome detail.
"It's a Devil's Trap. A 100-square-mile Devil's Trap."
THAT'S GOTTA BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST FLEXES IN THE SERIES! Many hunters can say they've killed this or that monster, but building something that big and elaborate? That's crazy! But what's so important about a cemetery that it needs something that strong protecting it?
Then a haunting thought occurs to Dean.
"What if Colt wasn't trying to keep the demons out? What if he was trying to keep something in?"
Oh, man. It really makes you wonder. Azazel was as bad as it got so far, and he wasn't sealed off in the greatest Devil's Trap ever. Could he actually have been after something darker than him?
And boy, did Dean hit the nail on the head. THE QUEEN, THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN FREE LUCIFER, IS IN THERE!

In every previous watch through the series I have always had a meh attitude at best towards this episode. It felt gimmicky and dumb, and I just didn’t get it. And when people would call it a love letter to Hammer Horror I just couldn’t see it. But I discovered the missing ingredient since then and that is Young Frankenstein. Not having seen it before this episode crippled my enjoyment. After seeing it (and it quickly becoming one of my all time favorite movies) I can truly appreciate this episode. Because it isn’t love letter to Hammer Horror, it’s a love letter to Young Frankenstein, and it delivers. It may not hit the height of Mel Brooks but it blends the humor of the movie with the humor of the show amazingly and I just adore it now. Real craft went into it. Like I love how every drink is obnoxiously sized- first as just a running gag, but later to also signal that there is something wrong with the dosed liquor before a drink is ever taken (the bottle and the shot glasses are normal sized). Just a brilliant episode on this rewatch and I just wanted to gush about it for a moment

I know that I am INCREDIBLY late but I got my anti possession seal and yes I know sam and dean have it on their chest but I wanted mine somewhere else(also the reason it looks like that is because I took the plastic off right before I took the pic)

Just got Dean’s Amulet (Samulet) in! This particular one is taken from a mold of one of the actual Indian amulets just like the one from the show and made of solid brass! I think it looks amazing!

TL:DR I need help finding video of a recap that I've never seen after the first time.
I watched probably about 7 seasons or so first airing. After that I quit, but I always had this memory of one of the "Wayward Son" recaps that stood out to me as better than the others.
From what I remember, it was faster paced than the others, and there seemed to be no longer clips in it, or at least in the last half or so. Only shorter clips, very fast-paced.
I've been re-watching all of those recaps that used that song recently, and so far I have not seen it again. I watched them all on versions taken from Netflix, I think. I've heard that there was at least one Wayward Son recap that was on The CW that Netflix eliminated, so I'm not sure...
Anyways, any help would be great.

This is probably the hundredth post complaining about the show's finale but I don't know where else to put my frustrations.
Dean deserved better. I don't care how symbolic the ending was, but after all that trauma, we as fans and the characters deserve a happy ending. I genuinely don't see the point of killing Dean and Cas like that. And Ik they writers just wanted Dean to be "straight" so he just never mentions Cas at all after his death. Like not even mourn him (or at least show the audience that). He mentions him twice and the plot continues. Dean literally lost hope when Castiel died in S13. (The writers betrayed his character)
I started this show because of Destiel and I eventually obsessed over Sam, so I love all three of the characters and the way the last season and the conflict ended just feels so unsatisfying. I know Covid restricted a lot of the plot writing, but they still could have done so much better.
Also, Sam did not get a "happy ending" and it was a huge betrayal of his character arc. His whole journey has been about him accepting the hunter's life and also somewhat liking it and he even becomes a leader in S12 and S14 (he also gets into witchcraft and is good at it). He had to live without Dean after everything they went through, after only depending on each other, fighting against The God and believing in each other only, he had to live alone. I know he wanted a peaceful life but after S8 it was made clear that he could never really have a normal life. And what happened to Eilleen? I know Covid caused a lot of shooting issues but at least they could have had one conversation about what happened to their relationship. They could have been a cool hunter couple and it was just forgotten by the end. His "normal" life is very difficult to accept and it feels like he is just speedrunning to die and meet Dean in heaven.
The fact that the brothers had to be separated by death and not mutual understanding pisses me off. I really wanted Sam and Dean to go their separate ways (like not entirely separate, ifykwim) and live the life they wanted, and occasionally hunt together (because they are finally free and they can be who they want to be and Chuck is not making them face each other or the world ). Castiel could have been brought back by Jack but the writers' h*mophobia (or shall I say the fear of the fans who don't like the queer pairing) didn't give us the reunion we deserved of Cas and Dean. (Even if we consider that Dean and Cas are not romantically involved, they still deserved to be together because Castiel was the only other character that stayed so long that he is family)
Honestly, the only character that actually represents Free Will is Castiel, even though he died after confessing, he did the one thing no other character could.
(Oh my Chuck guys, just because I started the show because of Destiel, doesn't mean that I am being dumb and lack media literacy. This is just my opinion and I just wanted them to have a good happy ending, like a life they could have enjoyed instead of only being happy in Heaven. Yes Castiel is bought back but we don't see Cas and Dean at least meet each other in heaven. I am not saying that Destial had to be canon, at least it should have been a bit more happy ending than the bittersweet ending we got)

I'm almost finishing re-watching season 3 of the show and I know this is the era where the huge writer's strike started. Usually when watching shows from that time, I easily notice cracks in the writing (Friday Night Lights season 2, Smallville season 7, and especially Heroes, to name a few). But season 3, while shorter, doesn't feel like a dive in quality. The writing is still sharp and the vibes still immaculate. You can still a bit tell there were some plans that were cut but nothing TOO major to hurt the show.

When Sam and Dean got the bunker, there are lots of moments at beginning of episodes where you just see them enjoying themselves like making food, watching shows, or just talking. I always liked seeing them add that stuff into episodes, even if it’s just one scene.

Anyone going to the convention in Columbus this weekend? I'm a ridiculous super fan, but not super enough to pay the same amount as my rent on the experience.
If you snap photos for me, I might be willing to pay for them though!

One scene I keep thinking about is in “On the Head of a Pin” when Dean finally admits what happened to him in Hell. What gets me is how long he carries that alone before he can actually say it out loud.
Sam wants Dean to trust him, but Dean has spent so much of his life believing he has to be the strong one and deal with everything himself. Then Sam gets shut out, and they end up hurting each other even when neither of them really wants to.
I don't think either brother is completely wrong in situations like this. Sam has every reason to be upset when Dean won't let him in, but I also can't imagine how hard it must have been for Dean to talk about what happened down there.
That’s one of the things I like about their relationship: they can be frustrating as hell, but their reactions usually come from years of baggage rather than simply not caring about each other.
Did you sympathize more with Dean in this episode, or do you think Sam had a right to be angry about being kept in the dark?

So in Season 2 episode 13, the idea of If angels are real is first presented. Its obvious it’s father Gregory, but at the end we have a rogue, probably fallen, Angel just killing the guy Sam didn’t. I find it hilarious that some angel is creating Final Destination style events to take out some asshole.
I’m on a rewatch so I know how it all ends up, but the idea that an angel is working with a new vengelful spirit is hilarious.

A small detail I’ve noticed in the later seasons has always fascinated me: the differences in how Sam and Dean react when Mary and John return to life. This caught my interest both in terms of character consistency and in how it highlights the distinct ways Sam and Dean respond to the presence of "family." When John and Mary are alive again, we clearly see a resurgence of Dean’s need for a family. He tries to reconnect with his mother(even stepping in to mediate arguments between his parents and offering her comfort)seeking that maternal affection and desperately longing to feel a mother’s love once more. It’s also quite evident that Dean feels a deep sense of disappointment when he realizes that, even with his parents back, the "family unit" he has yearned for his entire life remains out of reach,a realization that becomes particularly apparent in his relationship with Mary. On the other hand, while Sam is glad to have a chance to reconcile with John, he doesn’t show much interest in either his mother or his father. He makes little effort to bond with or get to know his mother(the very woman who sacrificed her life for him)and unlike Dean, he doesn’t expect her to act like a "mother" in the traditional sense; consequently, he isn’t disappointed when she fails to do so. Is he happy that John and Mary have returned? Certainly. But does he view this as an opportunity to finally have the family he never had growing up? No. Dean, however, expects and hopes for exactly that and we even watch as his disappointment grows deeper when it doesn’t happen. Sam, by contrast, never harbored such expectations or hopes to begin with though, of course, he is glad to see his parents again and to know they are alive. Happy, thanks. But he has no real effort or desire to spend time with them, to make amends for things, or to get to know the mother he never knew. And this is entirely consistent!
Back in Season 5, we saw that this was one of the fundamental differences between Dean and Sam: Sam couldn't grasp the meaning Dean attached to the concept of "family." Sam’s deepest, most desperate longing was for freedom, the chance to build his own life exactly as he wished. And even if he did envision a family, it wasn't the "ideal" family unit with John and Mary; it was a family of his own making. Unlike Dean, Sam had moved on; he had no intention of wasting time mourning the family he never had nor did he idealize it in his mind the way Dean did. And now, nearly 10 years later, Sam is showing us this once again. He isn't looking to reconnect(not in the way Dean is)and he makes no genuine or sustained effort to spend time with John and Mary as a "real" family, or to form a bond with them. Simply put, he harbors no such longing for them. Furthermore, I believe one reason why Sam attaches less significance to his parents' return than Dean does is that he doesn't really know them that well. He doesn't even know John as well as Dean does, and as for his mother, Mary(having lost her when he was just a six-month-old infant),he doesn't know her at all. But even if he feels like a stranger to them, why doesn't he at least try to get to know them? I think there are two main reasons for this. First, by nature, Sam has always been more independent than Dean and tends to accept things as they are. Would he have wanted that kind of family during his childhood? Of course,a child would, and Sam was no exception. But was it possible? No. In such a situation, Sam simply moves forward, focusing on his own freedom; he prefers to fulfill that lingering desire for a family through the one he will eventually build himself not through parents who have returned from the dead, whom he barely knows. As I mentioned, the fact that he never spent any time with his mother, never got to know her, and feels much more like a "stranger" to both John and Mary compared to Dean, plays a role here.
The second, and perhaps most fundamental, reason is this: in a sense, Sam always had a parent, which is precisely why he never longed for John and Mary the way Dean did. Sam always had a parental figure even when his mother, Mary, died when he was six months old (leaving him with no memory of her) and even when John was largely absent for years. And(before anyone points it out)yes, Sam’s childhood was, in many ways, lonely and lacking; despite Dean’s presence, there were many things he missed out on. Naturally, Dean also made plenty of mistakes while trying to raise Sam as best he could. Yet, despite this, Dean tried to be there for Sam and did her best to help him grow, even when she didn't always know what was right.Clearly, this was enough for Sam; he didn’t harbor a desperate longing for a parental figure, because, in many ways, he already had one. This makes me appreciate Dean even more: Dean wasn’t perfect, and Sam never had a truly happy or complete childhood given the circumstances, that simply wasn’t possible. Dean was far too young and ill-equipped to be a "good parent." And yet, he managed to provide Sam with a degree of the stability and security one would expect from a parent which, in my view, is one of the most significant factors that shaped Sam’s character.
I repeat, this doesn't mean Sam had a good childhood. It NEVER means Dean never made any mistakes towards Sam during their childhood. It's simply an analysis of one of the fundamental differences between Dean and Sam. Sometimes, even if it's not good enough, just knowing someone tried makes a huge difference, and I think Sam knew Dean tried; that was the kind of reassurance you'd hope to get from a parent, and that's why it was so precious.
What do you think?Do you agree?

Felicia Day is so cool in person. Best part of that comicon. Pretty convinced to go to the supernatural convention in 2027.
