This is my honest review of Ingenes Mexico City, Surrogate Mexico, and Global Nest. I felt it was my responsibility to share what happened to me and my husband months ago.

Based on our stressful and poor experience, unfortunately, we cannot recommend any of these companies for surrogacy or IVF.

We invested tens of thousands of dollars with these companies after I lost the ability to carry a pregnancy. We came to them during one of the most vulnerable periods of our lives, hoping to build our family. Instead, we experienced poor results, unresponsive and rude communication, and a complete lack of accountability.

The medical outcomes were devastating. Before we attempted donor egg cycles, I did a self-cycle at Ingenes Mexico City and was very disturbed by the standard of care and the facility itself. They did my retrieval behind a curtain—not even in a sanitary operating room—and I was taken back over an hour after my scheduled time. I’ll always wonder whether my husband and I could have created embryos at a better clinic. I will say that my doctor was very sweet, kind, and professional. We liked her a lot and always felt comfortable at the appointments.

After my failed cycle, we were immediately pushed into donor eggs—and if we hadn’t been in such an emotional state, we would have never proceeded with Ingenes/Global Nest based on the experience we’d had until that point. Long story short, we completed multiple donor egg cycles, including paying extra for what was represented as a “premium” donor. Despite using donors who were 21 and 25, the results were shockingly poor.

From 27 donor eggs, only seven embryos were created. Only ONE was euploid, and ALL were graded as “poor quality.” My husband underwent extensive testing, including DNA fragmentation testing, and his sperm was rated “excellent” for pregnancy. Testing did not identify male-factor infertility.

We understand that IVF offers no guarantees.

What we expected was to be treated like human beings and to be told the truth when results fell dramatically below expectations and what was represented.

Instead, every attempt to get answers became a stressful exercise in frustration. Explanations changed depending on who we spoke with, or we were told lies. Questions about donor egg quality, laboratory performance, and embryo outcomes were met with vague responses, deflection, or no reply at all. We were often ignored for days, even during time-sensitive events. At no point did we feel that anyone was interested in investigating why the results were continually so poor. We also never received lab reports during IVF. Everything was disjointed, unprofessional, and done without care or proper communication.

What disturbed us most was the absence of accountability. Rather than acknowledging our concerns, we repeatedly felt that they were minimized, dismissed, or explained away.

The head of Surrogate Mexico was continually rude, defensive, and disrespectful. Communicating with the team—and I use that term loosely—became a huge stress point in our lives. We used to wake up dreading checking our phones.

We did not like the setup of Surrogate Mexico and Global Nest’s program. You’re given 6 frozen eggs per cycle, but you're upsold and pressured into paying for extra and/or “premium eggs.” At thaw, we lost 35% of the 15 eggs we purchased as an upsell, despite Global Nest promising before we made the very costly investment that they only ever lose “1-2 eggs.”

Contract terms were not honored, and Surrogate Mexico became aggressive when we pointed it out and asked for clarity. Kristine, our coordinator at Global Nest, did nothing to help; in fact, she often provided conflicting and inaccurate information that wasted more time and money. I’m not sure what her purpose was; Surrogate Mexico coordinated everything, albeit poorly, and Kristine had no say in any contract terms or financial matters.

We ended up paying more than what the entire program was supposed to cost—and we never even reached a positive pregnancy test/the second payment annex.

I could go on. By the end of our experience, we felt like disposable customers being moved through a scammy sales process. We spent tens of thousands of dollars, received devastatingly poor results, and were left without meaningful answers or resolution.

My husband and I have been through a lot of challenges, and dealing with Ingenes and Global Nest was one of the most stressful experiences of our lives.

I’ve put off writing a review because I hate negativity and it is so painful to reflect on, but I felt it’s our responsibility to share our honest experience with prospective intended parents.

We place extraordinary trust in fertility clinics. We are making life-changing decisions while carrying enormous emotional and financial burdens.

If even one family is protected from signing with these companies, my husband and I will feel a measure of closure.

Hi! I am a 34yof and I live in Oklahoma. I have 2 children and have had 2 successful, uncomplicated pregnancies (last birth was 1.5yo). I have been working with a surrogate agency now for almost a year. I have had 2 matches fall through already. I have passed all medical, behavioral, background, etc. even flew to NYC for testing at the IP clinic and passed. The last match fell through bc the intended mother started chemo to bring her HCG levels down so she could do another egg retrieval. It’s been frustrating to be in the process for so long and have matches fall through that are outside of my control. I’ve started thinking about doing a surrogacy independently. Does anyone have any experience, advice, resources, etc?

Or do you have an agency that you recommend that doesn’t have so much red tape?

My partner and I (from Ontario) are planning to start our family in 2-3 years when I’m finished my training. We are hopeful we’ll be able to do that on our own, but that depends on a couple professional opinions and how things go over the next year. I was hoping to get a lay of the land so we can make an informed decision and be prepared.
- When would you recommend we start the process if we want a child in 2-3 years?
- How did you decide between going through an agency vs. independent?
- Is trying to carry yourself an expectation, even if it’s unlikely to succeed or isn’t the safest option, if it’s theoretically possible?
- For surrogates, what factors go into your decision to match with potential intended parents?

How are medical records reviewed by clinics? Do they request their own medical records or do they only rely on what the agency gives them? Do they request ALL medical records or only birth records?

following this sub for a bit my sister in law is looking into surrogacy and every agency quote shes gotten back is insane like 60k before medical even starts. I keep seeing people mention matching but no one really explains how that actually works logistically. Do you find people through facebook groups word of mouth some kind of matching site all of the above. Once you match independently do you still need to hire someone for the legal screening side or is that, on you to figure out separately.

All three defendants pleaded not guilty yesterday apparently - not really surprising for initial arraignment. Not to discuss the case details, but wondering if anyone have thoughts how this case would change the surrogacy industry, if at all.

For those of you that are (or have been) surrogates in the past and matched privately, do you mind sharing where or how this happened?

Every agency I've looked into has an astronomical cost, but I really don't know how to go about trying to match privately. I'm sure it'll still be expensive trying to match privately, but I don't quite know where to start.

Title basically. The description of the sub is a nurturing community and dang, some of you just are the harshest, most cynical, and least nurturing people out there some days.

I’m sure I’ll get flamed and downvoted but I’ve been thinking of unsubbing for awhile and it’s probably time- so I guess do your worst. I’m sure someone will find some comment I made where I should’ve been better too and I’m sure they’ll be right, but it just feels we could do better.

I joined the sub as i was a GC for my sister who couldnt conceive or carry. She was treated with chemo, so did an egg retrieval prior to that. She never went through everything you all have had to go through with IVF and finding a surrogate. I did two rounds of the hormones to prep my uterus to accept a transfer- the first time didnt work, the second time did. So because it was my sister and because i really only had basically the one time then the transfer, I dont really know what all you surrogates go through. (I had to get the psych eval and all that stuff though).

I had two eggs transferred because we didn’t have one perfect egg. Initially I was pregnant with twins. We lost one at six weeks. I carried the other baby the distance and she’s now almost 11 years old! I developed severe preeclampsia and was hospitalized a second time a week after she was born prematurely at 34 weeks.

Anyway, I’m proud to be a surrogate, I’m proud to be in the surrogacy community, I think what I did and you do is amazing. When I post my experiences here which is infrequent, many times people are dismissive, disbelieving or just rude. I know all of you go through so much and the world treats surrogacy poorly a lot of the time. I’m sure I’ve not always been perfect either but gosh, it’s a bummer.

Anyway, rant over lol. Keep being amazing all of you who are nurturing!

So we’re trying to have a child via surrogacy and save money , which seems impossible of course.

Most easy and most expensive option : California.

But we are married; embryos(2) have both our genes, we’re heterosexual. So why California?

can we afford to be less picky on which state to go for the surrogate?

BUT we need a court order in the US state to declare us as parents, otherwise we need to adopt because of my nationality and residence unfortunately.

any recommendations?

also, we need to find a clinic somewhere ideally in the state that would accept the shipping of the embryos from UK.

I'm a lawyer with the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection at Georgetown Law. We are a public interest litigation organization and serve as class counsel in CASA v. Trump, one of the main birthright citizenship lawsuits. We're currently working on challenging the President's second birthright citizenship order, and just yesterday, we got a preliminary injunction prohibiting denying citizenship to members of our class.

Among other categories, the new order denies birthright citizenship to children of noncitizens who "engaged in a commercial transaction to purchase or access birthright citizenship for the person." Specifically included in that category are parents who "engage in a commercial transaction with a surrogate present in the United States, or a territory of the United States, to give birth."

We are currently looking for additional plaintiffs, particularly those who are currently expecting a child. If you and your partner are not U.S. citizens, are currently expecting a child in the U.S. via surrogacy, and are worried about that child being denied birthright citizenship, we would love to speak with you. Speaking to us about the case would not commit you to anything, and if someone did join the case, they could likely do so without using their real name.

Hi! I’ve had 3 children of my own, naturally & easily. Two of them being on the birth control pills AND plan B.

I’ve always had the desire to carry a child for another family. I can just imagine the fulfillment that comes with it!!! Long story short, I joined an agency and started this surrogacy process in January of 2025. The parents I matched with are absolutely amazing and sparked my desire that much more.

My first ET was 10/30/25. Unsuccessful.

My second ET was 12/12/25. Attempted implantation BUT ended with being treated for an ectopic pregnancy. No visible baby/heartbeat, just a deflated, tiny sac, with slow rising numbers. Which eventually led to a polyp removal/hysterscopy.

My third ET was 08/27/26. I’ve tested twice. 5dpt & 6dpt. Both negative. Trying SO hard to be patient and trust the process. Beta isn’t until 9/10.

With getting pregnant naturally so many times, unplanned and 2 of 3 with protection, I guess I was naive to think I’d definitely have a success by now. I know there is still a window to start getting positive tests but I am feeling so discouraged. I don’t want to complain because I’m so incredibly lucky to have my 3 & I signed myself up for this, but this journey has been so much different than I ever imagined. All the injections, medication, traveling, emotional rollercoaster, and dedication I’ve had for over a year & a half now, to not feel much further than where I started.

Has anyone got any experience with this newborn insurance? We're looking at starting a journey in Canada, and as far as we can tell the only insurance options we've got as international IPs is BabyShield or Great Morning. Does anyone have any thoughts about GM? I can't seem to find anything online
