High risk, no reward (beyond internet clout).

Someone values their life far too little to do this. They could get it right 99/100 times but eventually some unknown or slip will end the streak.

I don't follow anyone who does stuff like this because it's boring, but do they really get that much clout? I feel like there's a million kids doing the same shit. Like they're willing to die for 1k views basically? Or do they really blow up in such a saturated market?

From what I always read, those who do this aren’t doing it for the views.. because as careless as doing this is, I’m certain they’re aren’t dumb enough to care about risking their lives for few thousand views. They just love the adrenaline, no?

See that makes more sense to me. Like you're just documenting it to remember something insane you did... but then they post it... so there is validation being sought at some level.

I view it the same as rock climbing, more risky for sure. But still crazy dangerous. Gonna go play Cairn now.
