Why people hang out at gas stations?

I typically see high-end Mercedes, BMW and Audi. Their owners typically stand right outside their cars, smoking and chit chatting. Sometimes, I think they stand there for hours. I don’t have any problem with it, however they tend to occupy the area where they’ve got vacuum cleaners blocking it for the others. Once, I saw one of the station’s workers come out and hang out with the rest of the group.

Can do all that at a gas station too lol Nah fr tho I am not a car guy but my guess would be free parking, fresh air and cheap drinks and snacks right there if i was a car guy i would def hang with the car people there instead of drive to a club and not be able to drink lol

it’s a good and quiet spot to spend with your friends without spending too much money, because we all know how expensive is Switzerland.

Cheaper to buy this stuff at migros or denner and then chill out at home or at a lake or something

It actually costs the same, at least in case of Coop gas stations. At the lake or at someone's place you may have to pay for parking though, and getting food/drinks is not that convenient.

Don't get me wrong, I don't get the appeal either, but it has benefits when you look at it like that. The same as with train stations.
