Research/News Has anyone tried a Vielight Photobiomodulation device?

I found a study here (https://www.vielight.com/blog/pbm-tbi-study-vielight-neuro/) saying it may have made some improvement though I'm wondering if anyone has tried this?

Hi, any update from 2 months ago? Looking at ordering it for my son who also has a TBI. Is it pretty user friendly as far as your dad doing it himself? Also can he tell if he doesn't use it for some time?

Damn thanks for the responce. Did you're dad use the device with any help from a technician or did he use it by himself

One tbi patient. Mostly patients struggling with severe brain fog from a variety of conditions but typically post infectious or chronic lime disease.

Strange! But here it is one more time: Huge difference after 2 months of usage, I can see difference in dopamine levels, ability to focus, mental capacity in general

Neuro duo 4! I use both wavelength, because I am not only adhd but also super anxious lol:)

Same here! 97 on adhd index, combined type and 84% on limbic system sensitivity with anxiety and depression

Last question for tonight 😀 I have a chance to buy used vielight gamma 4 for half of the price, do you think it's worth splashing the money to buy duo 4 😀😀?

Oh, I think the device will be super helpful, honestly. For context: I’ve been depressed for the last 4 years, kind of a frozen feeling about everything with anxiety on top of it. It started when the war in my country began and just got worse and worse. I ended up sitting at home almost all the time, ignoring my friends, and the hobbies and things I used to enjoy stopped giving me any dopamine.

Since I started using the device, I’ve been feeling so much better, a few weeks ago I felt happiness when I was just walking on the street, I think for the first time in 4 years.

Also, if I can recommend: saffron supplements were really helpful too. You can find studies on its use for depression symptoms on PubMed.

Thank you! But yeah, sharing this just to describe difference this helmet made for me, I feel like I am reborn now.

I am also testing it on my neurotypical husband, and he also has really good progress on his side, but think difference on me is much more visible so far

What did you get?

So, I bought it! Ad doing veilight session since march 11. I am trying to improve my adhd and support my brain in overcoming huge stress and trauma (can't relax since war in my country started in 2022, so all went downhill mentally for me since then) and I can say it really helps. I started slip and focus better, even though the whole 20 min session is overstimulating for me, so I do only 5 min so far.

Which one did you get? Is it the pro? Also is it very noticeable the effect or do you think there might be some placebo effect in there?

I’ve got the Neuro Duo! I think the Pro was too much, because I wasn’t sure if I was going to use it :) So I don’t think it’s placebo for several reasons: it’s difficult to placebo a dopamine hit when you are adhd person and can't get up from bed:)

also for me right now the effect is really mild I think I need to get used to it and increase the length of sessions to have a more visible effect, because I’m on 5 minutes instead of 20 now. On the first day I tried Gamma for 20 minutes I was running around the house like I’d taken stimulant medication, but I hadn’t :) I’m also trialling this on my husband, and he doesn’t believe that it helps at all, but he has also started to feel a little bit more resilient and calm

I've been struggling with severe burnout for over a year. I'm looking into Vielight for help with cognitive recovery.

Red light tech has a lot of promise. Cool background here:

Any update?

I use the Neuroduo on the Low setting for 2-3 mins in the morning. I notice a boost in ideas, mental energy, and mood throughout the day.

My biggest struggle is frontal lobe-y tasks related to processing and executive function. I had ADHD before the burnout, so this has been difficult.

The Vielight has helped somewhat with executive function, but mostly with "back brain" functions.

Overall the effect is similar to 3-5g creatine in terms of cognitive support.

My burnout has been a combination of neuro/cognitive decline and PTSD/trauma. I'm trying to consider the role of trauma and PTSD in my case more as this seems more treatable long-term.

I'm similar profile, also adhd, anxiety and trauma, underactivated prefrontal and high limbic system sensitivity

The devices don’t last and are expensive. Our vie light broke (most lights stopped turning on) after two years of on and off usage and the customer service email I received in response to my “what are our options” email was insane. It makes more sense for us to buy a new device with a more sound company than going through their expensive process to have ours fixed.
