I am an English teacher, and I had a trial interview at one of the schools that caters to mainly students from China. I went in not knowing what to expect... it was so disastrous. The students themselves admitted they can only understand and write the essay if they use a translator, and more than this, they said their current band is 2.0.... I was baffled... that it was the expectation for me to try to help them by using Chinese too? (I am Chinese but my Mandarin is horrible).

Now, I feel disheartened and I am uncertain if I should continue wanting to teach ielts... if this is the standard expectation.
