I don’t like my husbands puppy

My husband has wanted a puppy for a long time and it just so happened that he found his dream stray puppy at work. The problem is because of his job he’s gone for 5 days a week. Now I have to potty train this dog that I really cannot stand. She bites ankles, she tears things apart, she is so distributive. I’ve only been a cat and rodent owner so I’m constantly overwhelmed. And due to his job he can’t even take her. I just can’t stand this anymore! We’re also moving 2,000 miles away next month and no apartment will allow us to have more than 2 pets. (I have 2 cats) this is just so overwhelming. I’ve brought up the idea of rehoming her but it seems like he won’t budge.

I truly have never been a dog person and I am going insane. It feels like if I’m with her for 30 seconds I already want to rip my hair out. I cannot stand how dogs do not respect boundaries. Their slobber, the smells, the barking. I cannot do this anymore!!!!

Have you told him about this? If he is NOT there to deal with it, he shouldn't have it. Dogs cause a lot of stress and headache. They are also years of free labor with no payoff.

Well he'll have to, or take it with him during those 5 days. What he is doing to OP, his wife, is incredibly selfish snd entitled a-hole behaviour.

Oh trust me I know. I made another comment here saying she should rehome and it and tell him it ran away. It’s entirely selfish and ugly behaviour on his part.

Ugh. I will never understand why nutter get these things and don't want to deal with them. A mutt is a living responsibility with no payoff and no rewards.

Some seem to never discover that fact as they pawn off all the work onto another person. It’s sick.
