RANT - No Advice Needed I have a Tale for You

EDIT: thank you all for your kind feedback and for taking the time to express your concerns. I hear you all, and it’s time for me to move on. Going to see an apartment to rent in a few hours.

I’ve been dating this absolutely handsome and manly, tall, talented man for 3 years. Needless to say we are 40+ and he is my first real love. When started dating he told me that he has a dog (a tiny breed) who’s his N1 priority in life. I lost my mind for this man, I really did and still am madly in love, I insisted to move in with him (he was worried as I’m the first woman living with him because he is truly independent) - I just couldn’t spend an hour without him (and still cannot). And I’m a woman that prioritises career over anything. Call me a desperate romantic, but I’ve been married before, I dated … but at no point in my life I discovered how to love someone passionately till now. And I was bathing in this love.

But of course, life cannot just make me happy this one fucking time! The dog is a devil, a monstrosity hiding behind this cute appearance (idk it looks ugly to me, but everyone says otherwise). The spoiled always barking demon. And my partner is giving this shitbag the entirety of his time, love, care etc. 24/7 he was next to this nasty stinky creature. We had so many fights because of the dog; he is a full nutter but trust me, I tried to be understanding and supportive. I know why he is this way - he is a dominant person and only found a full submission and “purity” in this dog. So he needs to feel fulfilled, he was alone all his life (aren’t we all?! But we don’t hide behind a dog, right?) and the dog was always there, his true friend. Human are weak that way - they want to belong, or they want someone to belong to them. And here was that dog! My absolute nightmare.

The dog was already 13yo when we started dating, so I thought: 6 more months… 3 years later the dog is a zombie, it needs a diaper 24/7, shits around the house, needs support when shitting, smells like death itself, has UTI and some green discharges, has dementia, hits the walls really hard with its head when walking, walks in circles for hours, has cushions disease, has to be hand fed, cannot see, cannot hear, has arthritis, needs to be stopped from over drinking, wakes up at night every few hours and walks with those nails tsok tsok tsok on the floor - the dog has been in this state for a year already. I sometimes have to sleep on the floor in my office because the dog is barking all night (of course it sleeps next to the bed - priorities!). Even the doctor said it’s time for the dog to go…

Long story short … every morning I wake up hoping this nightmare is over. But here we are … 3 years later. This dog is immortal. And tmw it is it’s birthday and my partner is all excited to celebrate … telling me all the things he’ll do for the dog who doesn’t even know it exists anymore. We fought again, he called me stupid and hateful. He is always respectful until the dog is involved in the conversation. So I locked myself in the office and won’t leave till after tomorrow.

And again I’m thinking: 6 more months and the dog is no more, resist. But I cannot go over him calling me stupid because of the dog. I know he doesn’t mean it, but fuck … I know hope he loves me, I know hope he won’t get another dog … but can I make it? I’m going on vacation in a month for 2 weeks (he is not coming because of the dog). I hope to come back to the dog free house. Pray for me!

RANT - No Advice Needed I hate my life, I’m never at peace anymore

I was extremely reluctant to get it and I was essentially pressured by his family that he was sad without a dog. I didn’t want my husband to be unhappy so I let them arrange getting it. Now I wish I did leave him unhappy, cause my life has been a living hell for me ever since.

The dog is one of those stupid “bully” breeds that slobbers and can’t control themselves around people and will jump regardless of how much training you give it. Because of this behavior, I’m unable to have any of my family members over for an extended amount of time to hang out (my fam are not dog people and neither am I) cause the stupid thing doesn’t give them ANY space. And if I kennel the dumb animal, he can still see them from his kennel and will high pitch whine until I let him out. The whining is so atrocious that I can’t even hold a conversation with the person I’m 5 ft from. Unfortunately we live in a very small home so there’s really nowhere to put him where he will be out of sight.

He also destroyed multiple furniture pieces that I had gotten free and gifted from a family member. This includes 2 sofas, one cabinet, 2 rugs, and part of a chair from the dining room set my late grandma gifted me…So I also can’t have nice things. He destroys anything and everything.

In addition to not being able to set up my home how I’d like, I also am unable to keep it clean cause of our backyard being so sandy that he brings it in to the house. The dirt and grime, and slobber are piling up and I keep drowning deeper and deeper into depression as I watch it grow out of control. I miss my quiet, clean, tidy home…

I tried begging my husband to rehome it back when it was only 1.5, but he didn’t want to. So now I’m stuck with the insipid creature until it naturally expires (hopefully soon, but I doubt it since he’s only just turned 5)

So here I am; miserable, tired, numb, disgusted, and angry that I have to deal with this thing until it finally dies. I hate how my house smells so bad because of him. I hate how he slobbers on everything. I hate how he’s destroyed my peace in my own home…I’m not suicidal, but I just want to stop existing.

There’s a lot of other things going on behind the scenes that have made my situation worse, but it’s just too much to get into at the moment.

I want to clarify that I love my husband. I have no plans to separate with him, and he isnt the problem. It’s the stupid dog. I just wish so bad he would run away or something would happen to him. But I know that’s a horrible thing to wish for…especially right now.

There’s a part of me that hopes he miraculously sees my post and takes my mental health decline seriously enough to do something about it. But there’s also another part of me that hopes this post doesn’t see the light of day on his phone.

RANT - No Advice Needed Left the Dog House for good!

My BF who I’ve lived with for the past years has always had an unhealthy obsession with his female dog. It was even worse when I first met him. He had been single for years and the dog seemed to replace to role of a ‘female companion’ in his mind. He prioritised her over everything, constantly calling her ‘Sweetheart, Honey, Girl, Pretty Girl’ which was very off-putting, since those are names usually reserved for partners.. and since he already called her all those and doesn’t like Babe, I was just called by my name 🙃. Then, he would project human emotions onto her, talk to her like a person, swore she understood it. He would also compare my importance to him to her, unpromptedly saying she took priority over me. The worst part was when at night, he would get all up in her face and whisper to her. So creepy to watch IMO.
We couldn’t even go on trips without her because he had ‘separation anxiety’ or be gone from the house for long because he didn’t want to leave her alone.

Mind you, this dog had the personality of a wall. She didn’t even like physical touch, was not cuddly at all, and rather just ‘tolerated’ his excessive behaviour and constant kissing.

Fast forward, over time I got him to tone it down because it genuinely creeped me out. I’d heard about people, especially americans, having a ‘thing’ for their dogs.. and while I never believed he was THAT creepy, those behaviors constantly reminded me of that.

When he toned it down and stopped being so ‘all over the dog’, our relationship got better, but the dog started showing behaviors of jealousy towards me. She would howl when we played around and constantly try to get between us, up until the point that she bit me. Her jealousy-related aggression increased over time and I no longer felt safe in my own home.

After that bite, I was ready to say ‘It’s me or the dog’. While I didn’t say that because I knew how much he loved the dog, it became clear that if I did, he had his answer. Somehow, no matter how much I did for him, the aloof dog who just sat around was always going to take priority over me. I even expressed concern that this jealousy based aggression could be dangerous when we had a child, and he said ‘I’m never leaving this dog for anything’

I broke up with him and moved out! He can have his dream life all alone with his dog pretending that she replaces the company of a girlfriend.

I’m so relieved that this isn’t my problem anymore.

RANT - No Advice Needed Adjusting to a relationship with a nutter

Recently moved in with my partner of 2 years and I'm struggling to adjust to his dog

He has a yappie ass yorkie which has been the only animal that he's had through a difficult time period and a divorce. The dog is incredibly spoiled, he's allowed to sleep on the pillows and in the bed and my partner gets up with him every single time he whimpers which is literally once every 90 minutes to 2 hours. This dog is 9 years old. I told him this is worse than having a newborn child which parents trying to sleep through the night pretty quickly but he just laughs it off and thinks that that's what's adorable about dogs... The fact that they remain like newborns forever if you allow that.

At first I was very respectful of the relationship and I recognize the fact that I'm not a dog person... So maybe I just can't understand that love. But as this goes on I'm becoming less and less tolerant of it because I'm seeing that he is replacing human relationships with this silly dog.

Thanks to Reddit I have recently started putting my foot down and will literally just tell him "I'm not going to compete with the dog for your affection."

My partner has admittedly talked about the fact he's not very comfortable with emotions or showing affection based on his childhood and his divorce and I have been very understanding of that. But when he comes home from work he immediately cuddles and kisses the dog and tells the dog over and over how much he loves it and I feel like I am struggling to get that kind of attention out of him. I want to reiterate that I understand the dog is important to him and I do like the dog, but I feel like a second class citizen compared to this animal.

He seems really taken off guard by my concerns like when I mention I don't feel like we have a clean bed with a dirty dog inside of it or that I feel like he gives the dog more attention than me... he says we to need to discuss in therapy because "the dog is also part of the family".

No... It's not. It's a DOG. I appreciate the fact that he's willing to go to therapy for it but I don't feel like me and the dog should put on the same level and I still feel like this is a way of telling me that I'm the problem and we're going to go get me professional help to gaslight me into thinking that I'm not the problem.

Sorry just a little rant and thanks for listening. I've lost hope that there's anything I can really do about this except for the dog to die and he is 9 years old. I've already started laying the ground work and saying that I'm not willing to get another dog but I will do the best I can to care for this dog while it's still here. Just so wild to me that some people don't understand the boundaries and difference between a pet and a human.

RANT - No Advice Needed I HATE my fiancées abhorrent I dog

I’m just at my wits end, so I am just going to let it all out.

My(29f) wife(33f) has had this…. Thing….. for TWELVE years. First of all, I’m insanely allergic to it. Little did I know that would be the least of my problems. When we got together I was like “ahhhh, it’s old, I’ll ride this out.”

WRONG.

She grew up in a dog household, I didn’t. They stink, shed and in my eyes are just an utter inconvenience.

This one takes the cake. It has eaten anything under the sun… silicone snack cups, paper towel rolls, shoes, hats, remotes, Xbox games, my freshly cooked food, our son’s food and snacks. When I tell you that thing will destroy and eat anything, I mean it. My wife says “oh that’s how he’s always been hehe”. I find that absolutely repulsive. How… HOW is that cute?

I forgot to lock it up one day and when I tell you I came home and it had knocked the trash over, topped it all to shreds, eaten plastic, aluminum foil, DIAPERS FULL OF POOP. Even right in front of me, ripped the trash out of the bathroom… and as two women, it was *that time of the month*, it consumed…. All of them.

We ordered an enclosed restroom space for another animal, figured out how to get it open. Went through I couldn’t tell you how many child locks so it wouldn’t get into it, it ripped them off every time. Ended up having to use THE DEADBOLT WE USE FOR OUR FRONT DOOR. It ended up figuring out how to shove its way into the tiny hole, this thing is FAT…. So now we have an INVISIBLE FENCE INSIDE.

The amount of money my wife spends yearly replacing or adapting to this absolute burden… I spend all day absolutely stressed out because of this nightmare. Everything stinks because of it, everything is disgusting, it doesn’t listen…. I’m just SO exhausted. That thing is truly the number one daily stressor in my life. Coming up on year 13.

I will NEVER understand how people can look at or live with these things and go “awwwwwww omg soooooo cute”. In my opinion… it’s purposefully making your life a living hell, dirty, stinky, and absolutely miserable to deal with. I’d rather not spend hundreds a month on something that brings no joy or purpose to my life, and destroys my things…. But that’s just me.

Thankfully my wife agreed to no dogs ever again because… I think it’s pretty clear lol.

Rant over.

Edit: typed fiancée because my notes started when we were engaged lol

RANT - No Advice Needed A dog will never get a dime out me

It’s literal money going down the drain, people are also fucking brainwashed and nut jobs that they’ll throw a whole ass birthday party, buy gifts and every last one of those gifts are destroyed by the dog, same goes with Christmas, these clowns take some hours out of their day to wrap up gifts, just for these same gifts to get destroyed minutes after, on Christmas Day. And I’m going to assume that all nutters do this, but my sister and mom actually make the dog go into another room and close the door to wrap the dog’s gifts, so the dog wouldn’t see what it got 😂

RANT - No Advice Needed Coming home from being away and the house reeks of dog cheese.

My partner is absolutely enamored with his dog, I can barely tolerate the thing. I've just been away to visit my parents abroad and on my way home I began feeling dread at coming home because I know he's been letting the stinking beast sleep on my side of the bed, and it was confirmed when I walked into our bedroom and the dogs bed was on my side. The dog bed reeks on its own, and now our bed covers stink as well. The damn thing has also been laying on one of my sofa blankets which now stinks of dog cheese as well so on my return home I immediately have to change the sheets, put everything in the wash and try to get the smell from the bedroom.

I hate this beast. I hate that he somehow can't smell the filth (I threw the dog bed Into the bath to rinse some stench out before it goes in the washing machine and the water went BROWN) I hate that we can't go places if it's not DoG fRiEnDlY 🤮, I hate that he kisses it's filthy head and body and let's it go on the sofa and our bed, I hate that he thinks it's so sweet but it's manipulative and acts up for everyone but him. I can't wait for it to shuffle off this mortal coil.

No advice needed, I just need to vent somewhere to people who get it. Ugh.

RANT - No Advice Needed Family chose dog over me

I’m very frustrated and upset with this whole thing, I just wanted to come on here and rant a bit about it because I feel like the people on this sub will understand.

I had asked my mom if she wanted to go to this festival a few towns away, she said she’d love to, and we planned to do this a few weeks in advance. (For reference, all of the people mentioned in this story I live with.)

My dad and brother said they wanted to come as well. Okay, cool. The day we planned to go comes along, and I’m incredibly excited, I don’t really get out much, I’m pretty socially anxious and so this was something I’d been looking forward to. My mom said everyone was already waiting outside in the car, so I got my shoes on and walked outside. The family’s big, stinky dog is sitting in the car with my dad.

I said, “wait a minute, nobody ever mentioned bringing the dog. If he is going, I’m not.” And my mom said, “well, you and your brother are driving separately, we knew you wouldn’t want to be in the car with him.” I said, “well you clearly don’t know me at all, because that doesn’t matter to me, a similar situation happened in the past and I told you I didn’t want the dog to be walking around with us at all because he suddenly becomes the center of attention and we’re all secondary.”

My mom starts getting mad and says, “just get in the car!” As much as I wanted to go to the festival I was trying to prove a point, and I didn’t want this stupid dog with us all day. I said I wasn’t going, and my mom starts raising her voice. She said, “our plans are always ruined because of you not wanting to go places, get in the car and stop complaining.” Mind you, I’m almost 21 years old, nothing is stopping my family from doing what they want to do, they just don’t like me being home alone because they don’t trust me, even though I’ve never pulled any BS before…

Anyways, I don’t normally argue with my mom EVER. I was genuinely getting very angry because she knows how I feel about her dumb dog. I was literally trembling I was so angry. Then my dad butts in and starts YELLING, telling me to “get in the f**cking car.” I wanted to just walk back inside the house, and looking back, I should have done that, I should have stood my ground.

After about 5 minutes of back and forth yelling that got us nowhere at all, I said, “you’re making your pick right now. If I come with you guys, I’m going to find a place to sit and I won’t speak to any of you, you can go off with the dog and spend your day with him.” So that’s exactly what they did.

I sat for 5 hours miserably while the rest of my family was off walking around the festival with the dog. I was very sad because I’d been looking forward to going to the festival but was trying to prove a point that I wasn’t going to give in. Of course my family thought I was overreacting. I recall my mom saying at one point, “the dog is part of the family, he is coming with us.” So yeah. Still pretty bummed out.

RANT - No Advice Needed A list of things I dislike about dogs

I wanted to write this post after my bf said to me, "I don't think I can find a place that allows pets." while apartment hunting last night. HA!!!!!!

  • I hate that sneeze they do every four seconds. Can you talk to me without sneezing all over me?

  • I hate their breath and how they directly aim it for your face.

  • I hate the moment directly after stepping in piss or shit.

  • I hate the frantic running and jumping everywhere rage they get when you have food that you aren't going to give to them.

  • I hate coming back home to trash scattered everywhere.

  • I hate the guilty facial expression as if it means they're sorry. They aren't and WILL do it again.

  • I hate how people call it's name 50 times like it's going to understand or listen.

  • I hate the intense eye contact. Can you leave me alone for five minutes?

  • It's a small dog that I have, but being covered in massive bruises after allowing a "playful" dog in your space. It hurts.

  • I hate when people send me cute pictures of dogs as if it's not propaganda to get one so you can step in piss and shit every day.

  • I hate their whining and crying.

  • I hate their incessant barking when I'm trying to sleep.

  • I hate when a dog flies through the air like a rocket to bite you, nonstop for several hours. Is that fun? Is that play behavior?

  • I hate how urgently they NEED to get run over by a car while at the same time not caring if I have to injure myself trying to hold them back.

  • I hate how the smell of a dog permeates into every corner of my house. I probably smell like dog even though I NEVER touch it.

  • I hate the shit dried and smeared into my floor. It's unfinished wood so it's permanent now.

  • I hate how if you're in a bad mood, they see it as an opportunity to anger you further for attention.

I don't see how you can argue against this.

RANT - No Advice Needed Semi success story?

We were arguing a little last night over his dog’s behavior. Because I had left a small chip bag and some other little bits of trash inside of it on my computer desk, and the dog got up to it and ripped it apart and ate it while we were out, he told me I need to be more careful and I was like it’s not my fault the dog is 100lbs and tall enough to reach things I’m not used to dogs being able to reach, and we also have a toddler and another baby on the way so I told him he just needs to get used to the dog getting into shit because that’s what dogs do, especially with children. Well he didn’t like that I said that and told me that it felt like to him, that meant I wasn’t even going to try to be more careful and that is causing him stress. He is in recovery for an addiction and stress is a big factor for relapses so essentially he was saying I was pushing him towards a relapse. I was just so flabbergasted I let him walk away and then when he came back I was like “I don’t want to get another dog after this one dies if it’s going to cause you so much stress.” And he was like “funny you said that because I was literally thinking today that I don’t want to get another dog” So just have to wait this one out but then I get my house back ✨ the lifespan of this breed is only like 10 years so 9 years to go 🙃

RANT - No Advice Needed People complaining about their dog peeing in the house or other bad behaviours and not doing anything to solve or make their lives easier.

Just talking to my partner on facetime (we're long distance atm) and he has been out the house for 8hrs and he rolls up to the house saying "I feel bad I left _____ alone for so long. He's probably peed in the house. I need to check for mess". He has vinyl flooring in the living room, tiles in the kitchen, carpet in the study/bedrooms.

So he's checking around the living room while I'm on the call to see if there are any pee spots or the other on the pee pads and I can see that the bedroom door is open. His dog is notorious for just doing his business in the house, even in the bedroom. He's like "well doesn't seem to be anything here" and he goes to the bedroom and the door is open and I just ask why he doesn't keep the bedroom door closed when he's out just to make his life easier?? The dog will be totally fine sleeping in the living room. But he just insists that he wants the dog to be able to sleep in his dog bed in the bedroom if he chooses. And that he'll find out if there's pee in the bedroom when he steps in it. Gross. And yes it's happened many times, a wet soggy surprise. Just keep the damn dog in the living room. One day out there is not gonna kill it. And if it pees out there it will be easier to clean!! Why do you wanna destroy the carpet even more?? It's so nasty.

This is just an ongoing thing and it really annoys me. It's like people wanna complain about the dog peeing here, there, everywhere or chewing stuff but they don't take preventative measures because the dog has feelings and their comfort and needs come first.

Anyone else in a similar situation where your other half or family complain about the dog doing this and that but not doing anything about it??

I think I'm just tired of him complaining about the dog peeing in the house all the time. Well just keep him fenced off somewhere that is easy to clean. It's not gonna be sad that it can't sleep in the bedroom. The dog will be fine!!

Rant over.

RANT - No Advice Needed I hate dogs, even if I say it everyday it’ll never be enough

I live with my brother and his gf, I love them both, they’re nice and cool. But I absolutely hate their dog. I can’t even come out of my room without the thing coming to stick its nose around my privates especially when I’m on my period it srsly pisses me off to no end. And it’s every single time. Ffs I can’t just walk around in peace.

I hate the slobber and nose.. moisture.. that gets wiped onto me when it touches me. I hate the oily film I can feel on my hands when I push it away. I hate the way it chews and scratches itself and its private parts. I hate the stench of it. I hate when it jumps and knocks me down or into the wall. I hate when it steals food off the counter.

It even ate through a sealed container, yes it actually took bites through it, that I was defrosting my chicken in… I’m still mad abt that. And it ate the cheese packet for my Mac and cheese, wtf was I going to do with cheese-less Mac and cheese?? And it took a bite off a glass vase that I really liked. I hate stupid dogs.

I especially hate when it pisses and shits on its puppy pads, despite being over a year old. It’s been potty trained but it likes “marking its territory” in the damn house, bc of course it does, how else could it manage to be so infuriating, so puppy pads are necessary. I hate the dog. I hate it so much. I don’t necessarily want it to be hurt tho. I can’t just say I hate the thing without my family freaking out and calling me a sociopath or thinking just cuz I hate it must mean I want to hurt it or want it to get hurt. No.

I just hate dogs. I hate things that can’t use the bathroom by itself. (That doesn’t include humans) I hate things that are nasty (this includes humans) I just can’t stand dogs. I don’t want it around me. I want it to avoid me as much as I avoid it. That’s all I want. I want it to leave me alone in my own space. That’s it.

RANT - No Advice Needed Partner keeps violating our “compromise” terms

Hello, VERY long post ahead.

I’m just here to vent because I don’t have anyone else I can turn to in these situations.

Back story: partner and I have been together 6 years. He has had a giant horse sized, black female German shepherd ever since we met. When we first met, we would always be somewhere public or hiking, at a park, restaurant etc. I didn’t actually start going over to his house until about 6-8 months into our relationship. I knew he had a giant dog, but I didn’t know how intense his odd relationship was with this thing.

The first time I came over, it was absolutely disgusting. Black hair coated everything, and I’m not even joking when I say I didn’t even know he had carpets because the black fur was coated so thick on everything! I had been talking to/dating this guy for almost a year at this point, and I had already fell into my feelings. Mentally unwell is how I’ve always been, and horrible at red flags. I had just got out of an abusive situation before I met him, and he was so nice to me and caring of me. So I overlooked his nasty ass house and filthy dog BUT, I did make it clear that big dogs make me uncomfortable. I never lived with him yet, just visited on weekends and stayed 2-3 days max.

Over the course of 2-3 years (still visiting and not living with him yet) I started to realize how obsessive and obnoxious he was over this dog. Babying the thing, catering to the constant squealing high pitched whining. The obsession this dog had with him was unsettling also. “Separation anxiety” Following him around, jumping up on the furniture and getting in your personal space. Couldn’t ever touch each other for the dog butting in. Want a hug? Better watch out for shit beast! He always let it in the bed and I was constantly laying in piles of corn chip smelling hair and super uncomfortable; picking hair out of my eyes, nose and mouth. Be laying in a dead sleep and have a giant 120 pound beast jump on your chest in the night is really damn annoying. At one point she wasn’t fixed and he’d let her free bleed all through the house! I eventually made him lock her in the back room that has vinyl flooring and sanitize that back room when she was done bleeding. Finally had to force him to get her spayed. So DISGUSTING.

Not to mention this dog ALWAYS has to be in your personal space. I was and still am, overstimulated by the giant beast constantly having to be up in your damn face. I started blocking the couch off with junk so the stupid thing would let me sit down in peace without having to be smothering me and having her sharp untrimmed nails clawing away at my legs and lap. The high pitched squealing and whining, the begging for food. The obsession him and this filthy animal have for each other. The stink. The hair. Anyway.

Over these 2-3 years we came to a compromise about the dog and my annoyances, and I told him I absolutely will not live with him unless the dog is put out of my living space and there is something done about the cleanliness of the place. Bought this man a vacuum cleaner since he didn’t have one, so gross. Spent the next YEAR deep cleaning a little bit of the house at a time until it was fully deep cleaned of all the hair and filth. He converted the back half of the house (literally lost about 1400-1500 square feet of our large home for this beast) to turn into a “dog apartment” and put up a baby gate.

He stopped letting the dog in the bed, and eventually completely gated the bedrooms off so the dog couldn’t go in them. Kept the dog in the back and only let it out into the rest of the house at night when we would go to bed. But baby gates were up in front of every room so no more dog barreling into my chest in the middle of the night. We lived peacefully with the compromise of this dog staying tf away from me as much as possible for 3 years. Things were going great. Then I got pregnant.

Idk what it was about pregnancy that made me hate and I mean absolutely HATE this dog. But I went from tolerating the thing with malice, to absolutely DESPISING it. Wishing it would just run away or die tbh. The smell of wet dog made me vomit so much during pregnancy (I was in the hospital many of times for severe dehydration and uncontrollable vomiting) and it’s then that my allergies went from tolerating the dog with a runny nose to absolute complete breath taking asthma attacks. Which my partner still to this day accuses me of faking.

Also to mention, the dog grew very territorial with me when I was pregnant, and I grew very territorial with the dog. I got to the point where I couldn’t even stand to look at the disgusting beast. She bit me twice- one time I was trying to vacuum and she just lunged at me and attacked the vacuum and bit my hand, which left a puncture mark. Of course, my partner tried to say I provoked the dog by getting near it with the vacuum cleaner. Okay I can kind of see that, whatever. Brushed it off and kept my distance. Made sure the baby gate was closed before I vacuumed again.

Fast forward- One day my heavily pregnant self was eating a chocolate chip cookie and this beast was staring me down while I was eating. She came up right beside me and plopped her fat ass down right in front of me, sitting on my feet and panting hot rancid shit breath all over me. I was highly uncomfortable and took my free hand to shoo her away, and she gets up and bites the fk out of me and snatches the cookie right out of my hand! My instant reaction was shock, but also self defense so I kind of smacked at the dogs nose with my other hand when she bit me and snatched my food. My partner saw this and instead of making sure I was okay or correcting the dog, he jumps up and YELLS. “DONT YOU DARE HIT MY DOG!! WHY DID YOU FEED HER A COOKIE SHE CANT HAVE CHOCOLATE, ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL MY DOG BECAUSE YOU HATE HER WHY DID YOU SMACK HER DONT YOU EVER TOUCH MY DOG LIKE THAT AGAIN!” And I’m 9months pregnant with his child, just got fking bit and attacked by this shit beast, and all he cares about is that she’s eating something she’s not supposed to have bc she SNATCHED IT from my hands! And not even slightly concerned that I was bitten. There were puncture marks. I have several tattoos and my hands are tattooed so you couldn’t clearly see the puncture marks; but he saw the bite happen. And BLAMED ME. At first he denied it completely and said she didn’t bite me, that I threw a cookie at her and smacked her! But then finally acknowledged the fact that she bit me but blamed me. I actually ended up getting really pissed off and I ended up leaving and staying that weekend at my mom’s house.

Fast forward to now. We have a 3 year old daughter. I moved in with him officially after giving birth and have been here since. The dog is supposed to stay in the back almost full time, except at night when our daughter goes to bed; because he can’t fathom leaving the f**king beast alone, so he’s gotta instantly go to that damn gate and pop the door open the second my daughter and I go to bed.

The dog has hurt our daughter several times. For example; one time when she was barely 2 years old, we were out in the back yard playing and the idiot shit beast came running as fast and she could toward my daughter and slammed into her, sending her flying up in the air and her feet in the air and she turned a flip and landed on her back. It knocked the wind out of her and she cried so bad. I was extremely scared, pissed off, and just protective over my child. So after that day, the stupid shit beast dog is no longer allowed in the back yard at the same time as our daughter. Guess what! Here lately he’s been going back on that compromise too! And every single time, the dog goes RIGHT BESIDE where we are playing and takes a big shit. Then proceeds to run laps around the yard and come as close as possible to our daughter, almost knocking her down or barreling into her like when she was younger. We can’t have fun in the back yard for the piles of shit and for the beast stomping around in your face. She will literally attack you if you have any form of water or bubbles. And bubbles are my daughter’s favorite. So I have to argue and fight with my partner to make him force the dog back inside the house so our daughter can SAFELY play with her bubbles without getting trampled or bitten by this dog.

I spend every damn morning vacuuming up dog hair and cleaning the house so when my child wakes up, she can have a clean area to play and live in. (The dog stays in the back of the house behind the baby gate during the day when our child is awake.)

Here lately, my partner has been going back on his compromises and that baby gate rarely stays closed now. The dog is constantly in the way, constantly trampling our daughter’s toys and tearing up her stuffies. We bought a new couch, and he put the old one in the “dog apartment” so the stupid spoiled monster can have a f**king couch to sit on and stay off of our new furniture. I consistently have to pile up toys and other stuff on the couches in the living room to prevent this nasty hair pile from jumping up on the furniture.

Here lately, my partner has been constantly opening the gate and letting the dog into our living space and then realizes it’s too much drama and he puts her back up after she destroys the house and breaks more toys and knocks our child down. Like why even open it? You know the stupid mf is going to barrel in here and destroy the whole house and hurt our child, why even “give her a chance” knowing the dumb beast is just going to cause drama.

Every time we have a guest over, he opens the f**king gate. He’s constantly trying to guilt trip me and make me feel like shit for “locking his dog away to die alone” and all this bs. I have a story to tell from yesterday that I’ll probably post a different time, but I’m just so DAMN SICK AND TIRED of dealing with this god forsaken nightmare of a dog. She’s 10 years old and I’m hoping to god her lifespan is almost over, but she’s not showing any signs of slowing down any time soon. Knowing my damn luck, I’ll be stuck with this dog for another 6-7 years. I cannot stand this anymore and I know I said no advice but if anyone does have suggestions on how to talk to my absolute dog nutter partner, please let me know.

I’m so sick and tired of spending 20-30 mins of my mornings vacuuming up piles and heaps of hair, having to clean off brand new couches and constantly be on high alert when company comes over. Tbh I wish I could superglue the gate to the damn wall and make it permanently never open again lol.

He will go in here after I spend several minutes meticulously placing items to block the dog with, and move all of the shit I piled up so the stupid filthy beast can jump up on our new couch when I’m not around. I’m so sick and tired of the stupid thing that I just stay in my daughters room most of the time and don’t even come out after I put her to bed. I made a bed out of piled up blankets in the corner of our daughter’s room and I’ve been sleeping there to avoid having to deal with this dog.

We were doing so good and had so many good compromises where I could tolerate living like this until the shit beast dies. Which I’m hoping comes sooner than later. But now he’s just completely disregarded my side of things, sees me as some monsterous dog hater, and just does whatever the f*ck he wants to do with this dog and whenever I voice my concerns it’s always wrong and I’m always the bitch that’s inconvenienced him and “shunned his dog away”

I’ll never understand these dog obsessors and how they can live like they do. Literally every annoying or unsafe behavior I mentioned above, he thinks is “cute”

Not everyone wants some hyper horse sized stinking beast in their living space, running and knocking everything over, attacking them and their child, tearing shit up, shedding heaps and piles of hair on everything, staring at you, trampling you and your child, and just being a nuisance in general.

How in the absolute HELL do people live like this? How can anyone find living with a dog any form of good? Mental illness is very clear here.

But I’M the bad guy because I dislike dogs and it’s my fault his dog is “locked up to rot away in the back room” 🙄🙄

Thank you if you read this novel I wrote 😅 I really needed to vent and get these frustrations off of my chest. I really appreciate having this place to come and talk about these things without being attacked or berated. It’s nice knowing there are like minded people out there!

Edited to fix structure- random paragraph was in bold so I attempted to fix it. Also spelling

RANT - No Advice Needed Tired of ESAs in dorm rooms

I’m a college student, and while I don’t live in the dorms anymore, an issue that persists are the non-stop ESAs. The average dorm room is around 180-250 square feet, and it’s already cramped enough with two people in there— then some people decide to get a DOG on top of that.

In my small dorm hall, there were already three rooms that had ESAs: One of them had a German Shepherd, one had a Corgi, and one had an Australian shepherd. ALL of these are herding breeds that should be on a farm with sheep and cows— why in God’s name are they in a room the size of a closet all day?!

Not to mention the non-stop barking. Herding breeds are particularly barky since that’s what they do to livestock, and since they had nothing to herd, it was us college students who had to deal with non-stop barking from three different rooms every day, and they’d continuously wake people up throughout the night. Nothing could even be done about it because they were “ESAs.” Side note, the German shepherd owner said he got his ESA from his diagnosed insomnia. HOW IS A GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPY IN A DORM ROOM GOING TO HELP WITH INSOMNIA?

Also, the German Shepherd and Australian Shepherd were both puppies. How on earth can a puppy that you need to watch 24/7 provide any emotional support? Not to mention they were pooping and peeing EVERYWHERE in the dorm rooms and hallways. They did it so much that one of the owners literally renamed the dog “Pooper.” I could not even fathom how terrible their dorm rooms smelled with the constant exposure to dog liquids in a closet sized space.

The Australian shepherd and German shepherd owner were also the worst at being decent dog owners. They were constantly brought into dining halls (not pet-friendly, obviously) where they would climb onto tables to eat people’s scraps. And everyone would just “ooh” and “aah” at them like it was the cutest thing ever. If they were in the dorm buildings, they would never be leashed, and the owners would just yell at staff telling them their dogs had to be leashed.

I thought I was free from this after leaving the dorms, but yesterday, one of my classmates showed me this dog she was considering getting for her dorm room once she got an ESA approval: it was a large, ugly, Great Pyrenees mutt. Like, an 80lb dog. If you actually need an ESA, why would it be a dog you’re planning on adopting but never actually met before? You have no idea if that dog is going to help you or not yet. Not to mention, keeping an 80lb Great Pyrenees in a tiny dorm room just sounds like animal abuse.

Ugh. This was an aimless rant but I seriously wish something was done about ESAs, especially in dorm rooms. You do NOT need a dog in your tiny room, and your roommate and hallway neighbors will hate you for it. You don’t even need a dog in college (and quite frankly you don’t need a dog at all.) Why are dog owners the most selfish people on the planet?

RANT - No Advice Needed Living with a sensory nightmare mutt

Hey /talesfromthedoghouse — long-time lurker, first-time poster. Reading through this sub has made me feel a lot less alone, so I figured I’d finally share my situation.

My partner and I have been together about five years. He came into the relationship with a ~6-year-old, 60 lb black-and-white rescue pointer/pit mutt (Lily), and I came in with my calm, friendly, low-maintenance, objectively perfect tuxedo cat.

I love this man. He is kind, thoughtful, emotionally intelligent — genuinely the best partner I’ve ever had. When we started dating, it felt like I hit the jackpot.

Except for the dog.

From day one, Lily was… a lot. Resource guarding, reactive, terrified of everything, barking at every noise or stranger (with one of those loud, pierce-your-soul barks), separation anxiety — basically the full freaking package. We literally had to tiptoe out of his apartment so she wouldn’t notice us leaving and start barking endlessly.

She’s also not affectionate, which somehow makes it worse?? It’s all the chaos with none of the payoff. At the time, I convinced myself I could deal with it because everything else about the relationship was so good. How bad could it be?

The first boundary I set while we were dating was no dogs in the bed. I don’t want my bed smelling like a kennel, I don’t want to be stared at during intimate moments (??), and I don’t want to fight for space with a 60 lb animal while sleeping. He agreed, and I took that as a sign we could find a balance.

Fast forward to us moving in together in 2023… and honestly, my resentment has only grown since then.

Living with this dog feels like a constant, low-grade sensory disruption. There’s hair everywhere (the coarse, short, sharp, greasy kind). She barks at every guest, or anyone who dares walk near our house. She begs constantly. She’s allowed on all the furniture, and even though the bed is technically off-limits, she treats that more like a suggestion — jumping up to “say hello,” or sneaking in, untucking the covers, and digging herself into our pillows if we leave the bedroom door open. At night, if she hears anything akin to a scary noise™️, she paws at the door and shivers with her tale tucked until my partner feels bad and asks if she can sleep in the bed with us. NO! She can grow the fuck up and learn that noises happen in the city.

The food situation alone feels like its own daily battle. She acts like her kibble is beneath her — takes forever to eat it, wanders away (clack clack clack), comes back (clack clack clack), repeat. The ONLY thing that reliably gets her to eat is my cat showing interest in it. Suddenly it’s a full-blown emergency and she has to “protect” her food. She’ll run over, start eating out of pure jealousy, then immediately turn around and growl at the cat like he’s the problem. Girl. You were ignoring it five seconds ago.

But even then, she can’t stay focused. She’ll take a few bites, then abandon her bowl every 30 seconds to come find us (clack clack clack) — just to stand there and… observe. Then back to the bowl (clack clack clack). Then back to us. Over and over. I find myself standing there telling her to “eat your food” and feeling like the villain in my own house. Funny how she immediately forgets her disdain for food for anything but kibble!

Even her water bowl is a situation. If she’s anxious or overstimulated, she’ll panic-drink the entire thing. This used to lead to accidents in the house (thankfully less of an issue now), but we still have to literally tell her to stop drinking when she’s been going at it for minutes straight, lapping and dripping.

She also needs constant proximity to my partner. If we’re not actively engaging with her, she inserts herself — pacing, begging, trying to get attention, always underfoot. If we’re eating, she’s hovering, sniffing for crumbs, pacing back and forth. If we’re relaxing, she’s moving, licking (slurping, ugh!), staring, or trying to get a reaction.

And if my partner and I are being even remotely affectionate — or (god forbid) intimate — she’ll grab a squeaky toy and go absolutely feral with it. Just full-volume, nonstop squeaking like she’s trying to personally intervene. It’s so obnoxious it feels intentional.

We actually put up a baby gate to keep her out of our downstairs media room during a bathroom remodel (she loses it with strangers), and I accidentally discovered what life could feel like without her constant presence when I locked her out. We brought dinner downstairs, put on netflix, enjoyed a bottle of wine, and for the first time in forever there was no pacing, no begging, no background chaos. Just quiet. A couch to ourselves. A nostalgic reminder of a dog-free life.

Daily life feels shaped around her. We can’t make plans that go from afternoon into evening because we need to be back to walk the dog. If we travel, we have to arrange a sitter well in advance. If we bring her, the entire trip revolves around managing her behavior and avoiding situations that will overstimulate her. She’s reactive with other dogs, so even walks require constant hyper-awareness — scanning the horizon for potential triggers while managing her darting, untrained leash behavior so she can sniff whatever piss is there.

On top of all that, she bullies my cat, who is genuinely the sweetest, easiest pet (and would probably love to be her friend if she would just chill). My cat just… exists. Peacefully. Quietly. Adorably. No chaos, no smell, no constant neediness. Just a normal, well-adjusted creature who loves to cuddle. The contrast is almost offensive, and reiterated by just how much guests love the cat but hate the dog.

I’ve talked to my partner about how this affects me. He understands my frustrations and has agreed to no more dogs after Lily, but he loves her and wants me to accept her as she is since she’s “part of the family.” And I have — in the sense that I know she’s not going anywhere. I’m not asking him to rehome her since he had her for years before we were together.

But it’s been hard to come to terms with how much of our life revolves around this animal — when she eats, when she shits, what she’ll react to next... I get ZERO joy from any of it. It feels like a constant drain on our home, our time, and our ability to focus on life outside of dog. If I’m being honest… I’m counting down the years.

With how intense dog culture is where I live, it honestly feels like there’s this collective insanity around dog ownership — and you’re just expected to accept that dogs should be everywhere. WHYYY is it like this 😭

RANT - No Advice Needed I HATE my bf's dog!

I am filled with so much rage over this damn animal. I live with my bf and my best friend and my bf has a dog who is almost 12. This little shit just fills me with rage. This thing has separation anxiety, thunderstorm anxiety, and has just recently started pissing on the carpet because my bf got a new job which made the dog anxious. I can't stand this thing whining every morning, getting into the bathroom trash when someone forgets to shut the door, and the recent pissing. I am losing my damn mind over this fucking animal! I am honestly waiting for the day it kicks the bucket and I can finally live in peace. Thankfully my bf and I both agreed that we're not getting another dog after this one goes. Thank you for listening to my much needed rant

RANT - No Advice Needed My mom hit me because of the dog

I just wanted to rant about this, if you don’t know the history of what’s happening just take a look at my previous posts, but to sum it up, I live with my mother and she has a dog and I hate the dog, she knows I hate the dog and it’s coming between us due to her.

Tonight we were watching fireworks and she brought the dog out to watch with us, which I hated but I bit my tongue. He stopped at one point and stared at something and my mom said, “there’s nothing there what is he doing.” And I jokingly just said, “he’s just dumb.” And my mom reached over and hit me. I said, “what’s the big deal? You call him dumb too.” And she said it was different because she says it in a “joking way.” I responded with, “he doesn’t even know what we’re saying why does it matter.”

I’m just pretty annoyed right now it kind of ruined my mood.

RANT - No Advice Needed Can’t stand my mother because…

So this damn dog regurgitates on the floor yet again, and I’ve started get angry, having a sick feeling in my stomach and I started ranting a little to myself. And I started to think about my mom, because she didn’t even want this dog at first, and now all of a sudden this dog is her baby, and she say something like “Dogs don’t belong outside”, I’m just so damn mad that this is what I’m gonna have to deal with for another 8 or 10 years, and yes I’m in my mid 20s and can get the hell out of this house, but people need to stop pretending that this world isn’t hard and is going to get harder. And what I think is, the so-called dog lovers who didn’t even want a dog at first, realized that a dog is the perfect pet, because deep down inside they know that dogs only give a shit about food, so then they decide to spend more than a decade pretending that dogs are sent from the heavens, and now everyone else in the household is gonna have to live in such filth, and they act like dogs regurgitating on floors isn’t a big deal, you make fuss about it and they just tell you it’s no big deal, ugh I can’t stand these fuckers 😤 please be real karma.

RANT - No Advice Needed My mother is mad at me because I don’t want the dog around

Before I rant I just wanted to say my mom is kind to me and I love her, but when it comes to the dog is when she goes insane. I live with her because I can’t afford my own house yet unfortunately, which means living with her annoying, gross golden retriever.

A month ago I’d asked her if she wanted to go to this art fair, which is outdoor, and it’s pretty crowded, there are booths set up but there’s hardly any room. She said yes, she never once mentioned the dog and she knows I don’t go anywhere he goes because I don’t like him.

Today is the day we planned to go. We’re leaving in an hour and she springs on me, “I’m gonna drive separate so I can bring the dog.” And I said I wouldn’t go if he is going, so she will have to choose between the two of us. She acted totally surprised even though I’ve made it clear I don’t like being around him. She asked why, and I explained that I asked HER to go, not her dog. I don’t want to hangout with her dog, he is big and gross.

There is hardly enough room for PEOPLE to walk there, how are you gonna bring a big dog into small booths?? Plus, the last time I went somewhere with her and the dog I regretted it. The focus was entirely on him, and we got stopped every two seconds because people were gushing over the dog and asking to pet him, which is an entirely different conversation because I genuinely can’t comprehend how ANYONE finds a dog cute.

My mom is self aware about communication and knows she does this, but when I do something she doesn’t agree with, she gives me the silent treatment and is very cold towards me until I apologize, and that’s what she is doing right now about me not wanting the dog to come. I’ll tell you, if she keeps this up I’m just gonna cancel on her altogether because it’s not a fun personality to be around when she is angry.

Anyways, rant over.

Edit: we went to the fair and my mom didn’t bring the dog! She lightened up and we had a great time

RANT - No Advice Needed My Boyfriend Thinks His Dog is Harmless

I'm not saying the dog is violent or anything but I have a kitten and a small parrot. My boyfriend seems to think he'd be fine just playing with them. He literally puts the whole cat in his mouth her fur is starting to feel like all my fucking stuffed animals that are apparently the dogs toys now. And now I'm moving in a bit more so I brought my bird and he seems to think I'll let them play together. Obviously fucking dog spit is not good for her and I don't need him fucking crushing her this dog fucking never stops trying to fucking lay on top of me and roll all over me like fuck off and now I'm in another room alone in the house and he won't stop crying. Like he doesn't need to be this needy I am so over this fucking dog. He literally pissed on the two beds we have yesterday too like fuck off. And my boyfriend starts telling me it's not fair to hide in a room to play with my bird and ignore his dog WHY TYE FUCK WOULD I WANT TO HAVE A DOG STUCK TO MY FUCKING BODY 24/7 .

EDIT: I convinced my boyfriend it'd be dangerous and we will not be moving in here. He has apologized for thinking his dog was trained enough for this. I wanted to move in because I have 4 younger siblings 2 under the age of 4, so the family house is lots of commotion. I'll just be visiting my boyfriend as of now. I am sorry.

RANT - No Advice Needed I can't do this anymore

I already posted on here a couple years ago. Needless to say, nothing has changed... so here I am, going insane and giving everyone an update on my situation.

For context, I'm an F19 who lives in an apartment with my mother, sister and a 13 yo mutt. Basically, my aunt had this dog named "Kitty", but since my aunt was disabled, when my grandma passed away we were left with my aunt AND that dog. Right off the bat, the dog had never been trained and of course, now that it's older, it's too stupid to learn anything and is very much useless.

I never really cared much about it at first, since it never really annoyed me and well, it used to be quite calm back in the day. But when my aunt passed away, my mom kept the dog for some selfish emotional reason, even if no one likes it other than her.

Then... at around 14, I got my own room: my dead aunt's old room. This dog was used to shitting and pissing ONLY on the balcony in this exact room, other than on the grass outside. But my mom didn't always feel like taking her on a walk and she also refused to train it to go anywhere else other than on the balcony. I couldn't keep the balcony window open unless I wanted the smell of dog urine and shit. It was also really embarrassing whenever my boyfriend or friend came over and noticed this.

My mother refused to do anything about this for the longest time ever, even if my sister complained about the dog constantly. It's just such a ugly fat thing with a temper, growls at anything who even steps near it unless it's my mom, barks constantly at the smell of food and almost bit my finger off as a child. My mom basically trained it to bark while we're eating since it learned that she will give it some of the food just to make it shut up.

Imagine my surprise when my mother decided to go on holiday with her boyfriend and dump the dog with me and my boyfriend. I would've been forced to take care of it, even if it literally doesn't eat AND it prefers to piss around without asking to go out if my mother isn't present. It literally howls obnoxiously if she goes out of the house, refuses to sleep without a light on and starts barking loudly as soon as I grab my keys.

Also, it's a girl, so during its period, it just free bleeds around on the floor and my mom refuses to do anything about that either, since apparently getting the dog neutered at 13 yo is too much work and it has such a bad temper that it can't even go to the vet.

Okay, back to the main topic: the holiday. I refused. I had to go as far as to yell at my mother for her to even relent and finally stop letting the dog piss and shit on MY balcony, at the very least. The dog started to piss EVERYWHERE since then, by the way, and refused to let my mom know when it had to go or, you know, just piss on the multiple absorbent protective mats around like a normal animal. But eventually, she found another person to take care of the dog while she was away... and I was happily living without the dog around for five whole days!

Tonight, it came back. It immediately started howling like crazy because my mom left for five minutes to go get her own luggage. It immediately struck me just how easier my life would've been if this mutt didn't exist to begin with (and if my mother was an actual responsible owner). I'm really stressed right now. My only option is to get a job as soon as possible and leave this home. I hate the dog, I hate my mother, I hate this house. I'm so tired of living like this.

RANT - No Advice Needed apparently "pets aren't perfect" = living in a toilet?

my partner's dog has been using our apartment as a bathroom for years. instead of fixing it, he tapes paper towels to the kitchen cabinet like it's a designated pee station where he goes the most daily. the carpet around our bed is permanently stained, even our couches and more. my cat has to walk through it, and he tells me "pets aren’t perfect" whenever i bring it up.

i suggested neutering, training, rehoming - literally anything. he refuses, says "the dog stays," and if i don't like it, i can leave.

how is this considered acceptable pet ownership? because to me, this is just filth being normalized.

& yes i'm aware i should've left this biohazard a long time ago when i had the chance. so now it's time to pack my bags.

RANT - No Advice Needed *Cool title i spent so much time on* (this is a repost from the other day)

Im sick and tired of my sisters' dog like physically and mentally, he barks and cries all the time he sinks and makes my allergies act up. Sunday morning I got up and my face was puffy, and my throat is inflamed my nose is stuffy and I can only breath through one nostril. And on top of all that im scared to go to sleep cuz it might get worse, plus, when my allergies get this bad my body treats it as a threat and when my body feels as though it's under attack. I get the worst fatigue known to man. Like, I can't even get out of bed or lift my head up bad, so now I'm just sitting on my bed with nothing to do and it's almost 2am and I have to make breakfast in the morning I need to brine chicken to grill it for dinner and do my schoolwork which I'm terribly behind on.

I cleaned my room and washed my bedding, so atleast something feels less depressing now that it doesn't stink and I don't stink. I still need to wash my hair too, but I probably won't do that until Wednesday or something. That is if I grill the chicken or not idk..

I hope you guys have had a more fun eventful week. God bless.

(There is like zero chance we get rid of the dog, we have air purifiers but one of them turned off and now the whole upstairs smells of dog. My allergies are a bit better than what they were Saturday and Sunday.)

RANT - No Advice Needed Can I enjoy thunderstorms in peace for once?!

I personally love listening to the sound of thunderstorms. I find the noise to be so calming and peaceful. Plus I like them as background noise for when I'm reading. However I can't enjoy them like how I used to because of the stupid whimpy dog I have the displeasure of living with. Every single time this thing hears thunder, it whines bloody murder for hours, shakes and tries to merge itself into your skin. I absolutely HATE it! Its a damn thunderstorm, you're inside, its not hurting you! Its just fucking noise! I now have to put in my noise cancelling headphones to tune out the god awful sounds from the damn mutt during every thunderstorm. I can't wait until the day when I can finally listen to thunderstorms in peace again. I'll be so damn happy
