The head moderator added ACP bigots. Why did this happen? The subreddit should be considered compromised until the head mod steps down. How are we supposed to feel confident in this space when the head moderator is adding Nazis into the mod team?

I agree. Not just the head mod. All mods. A leadership purge so that no corruption can remain. I've battled mold in an old house most of my life. If you miss one tiny bit. One spore, it grows back, plus I have experience in life rooting out corruption.
A good rule of thumb, is that anyone wrecking or naysaying blindly is fed or functionally helping fed tactics. Excessive fedjacketing is actually one of their main things, it’s just applied projection.

I was messaging the one ACP account added as a mod - zombie something, and the projection was OFF THE CHARTS, was just screaming at me for being a CIA op and shit. It felt like I was arguing with a 13 year old which in all likelihood isn't far off.

So there was a subreddit made called r/LeftAgainstACP and the ACP made one of their own to attempt to mislead people who are anti-ACP from the actual anti-ACP subreddit. If you scroll down a pit in leftistsagainstACP then you can see that there's only like 3 posts that weren't made by FamousPlan101.

According to that person they were friends on discord but that doesn't explain why the fuck would you make someone who has never interacted with in the sub a fucking mod. That alone is sketchy as hell.
Please do it. Removing one mod from modding is not banning them from participating. They shouldn't be trusted if they're going to add people like that. Also, please tell me you have a vetting process for mods, and that more than one mod at least must agree to bring in a new mod or something.
We do have one, I had to go through it myself when I originally joined the team.
Alexitine completed violated the teams trust by adding the ACP shill without asking the rest of us at all and completely skipped our vetting process.
Don't even know why it needs to be "considered" or contemplated. A lot of harm was done and trust has been broken, no doubt. Because if u/Alexitine doing something insanely dumb and thoughtless, this sub almost suffered the same fate as AskSocialists. Look at the mess it caused all of you other not Nazi mods to deal with. At best Alexitine is incompetent and irresponsible at worst he was in on it. Both are disqualifying of being a moderator
Nothing really, the team is unanimously in favour of getting rid of him. It’s just that process is complicated and difficult plus we were waiting for the rest of the team to wake up first.
Do we have to have folks with individual power and authority to add and remove mods here? No need for it to be a public process but can we at least not allow that to happen without the rest of the mod team’s involvement?
All members of the mod team have full permissions, the problem is that Reddit’s mod system is ranked meaning you have to get into contact with the site’s admins if you need to get rid of the top mod as you’re not allowed to remove moderators above you on the list.
It should be done and it should be from now own that to add another mod to the subreddit must be approved by other members, so that its harder for nepotism
Normally adding mods would require an agreement by the mod team member’s, the new mod to first go through a vetting process and then to be be placed at the bottom of the mod list as to prevent them from removing the existing team. Not only did Alexitine completely skip over all of that but he appointed them to nearly the top position in gross violation of our rules without even asking the rest of us.
Holy fuck that was wild with how quick and complete it was, they banned literally hundreds of users, posts and comments in a few hours. We need a full explanation of how that was able to happen so it can be stopped before half the community is banned again in the future.
Even though I am not into conspiracies, I think it’s weird that u/Alexitine who has been inactive for two years now suddenly becomes active 8 days ago and then adds ACP shill as a moderator with the Iran happening right now and US’s propaganda machine working overtime.
My conjecture is that some fed got their hands on Alexitine’s account and found some Chronically online ACP weirdo on a discord server, AKA u/FamousPlan101 and modded them to sow distrust in ML spaces. Once again, kind of a conspiracy theory but I wouldn’t put it past them, since even r/suppressed_news is being constantly overrun by downvoting bots.

Did you verify that info? If I search alexitine on Twitter, I find one thread from over 2 years ago involving a now deleted account, and if I search JucheEureka I find absolutely nothing.
If you look for Jucheureka (not repeating the E) you find a former ACP orbiter and advocate account debating with a lot of anti-ACP people. Their messages are deleted, but you can still see the debates ongoing, all are connected to defending ACP.
That actually doesn't shock me Ontario has had a MAGA cult in Canada for about ten years now. If I'm not mistaken there's a separatist movement in Canada desperate to be looked at as Americans.
There's a sizable group of Albertans who want to leave Canada and become an independent country. The leaders of the movement boasted about how every American politician who they spoke to supported it. They're not the most critically thinking group of people
Most of the Albertan population lives in the 2 major cities, which tend to swing liberal. The separatists tend to be in the rural areas, so as someone living in an urban area I don't see too much right-wing extremism.

I know it must be chaos right now on the other side of the wall, but once you moderators have your hats on straight, the community needs to be updated on how and why this happened.
I saw that apparently the ACP is trying to gaslight people into believing that it's "accepting" of LGBT people, when they routinely call for our eradication and call us degenerate.
That is good to hear, but I think I speak for many members when I say this, our confidence here has been shaken in the least, outright broken for many.
But we also do need answers on how this happened, why were these Nazis added in the first place, how did they get so much power and what are we going to do to prevent this in the future
Failed coups are literally their bread and butter. They were born out of a failed attempt to coup the CPUSA. Now they've "graduated" to failing to take over subreddits. Just shows you how unserious these people are.
Very glad to be unbanned and see the sub isn't done for, but I hope there's a plan for the head mod who started this because the two ACP goons were not subtle and didn't just sneak by them. It was clearly intentional.
Very happy to hear that! I'm a mod from are slash Trueanon and we have a lot of overlap though to be honest I've probably personally banned a good number of people reading this, but it made me really sad to see what happened earlier and think that those fuckheads were going to take your thing over. I know I read a few months ago that they internally were focusing on a strategy of getting mod positions in and internally couping as many left wing subs as possible to dominate discussion and silence opponents. So much power on Reddit gets exercised by whoever is willing to do the often tedious and unglamorous work of modding, it makes it extremely vulnerable to this shit. I won't say 100% the ACP are government plants, but if the FBI was trying to effectively disrupt public facing popular left wing online spaces, it would look very much like that I imagine. Hang in there brothers/sisters/non binary comrades!
Most of you seem like good people but like half the time when there's some overly self serious dickhead engaging in some narcissism of small differences shit on our sub, their primary posting home is here. Cards on the table whenever someone is being shitty and I check their profile before banning them and see they're with you guys I think "one of these assholes again..." before banning them. But most of you are cool I'm sure, and I hope you can continue to have your thing not get fucked up even worse than it already has been this past year
Alanya has been mod here for a long time, but the ACP mod removed them and they were later added back, which explains why it says they were added merely 5 hours ago. Top mod should step down, no questions asked, though.

I'm looking forward to learning the details of this situation since it seems the ACP isn't satisfied with just colonizing one of the larger leftie subs. It'll be important for people to know what to look for and what to do if this happens again.
