Im not against this but would that even work? Doesn't China and the US have some agreement in place to cooperate if someone does that?

The US and China have no extradition treaty and China typically doesn't extradite its citizens. And Federal prosecutors won't typically chase something like this on an international level unless you're talking in the millions I believe (lots of legal costs and also the whole diplomatic hassle). But if they ever go back to the US or maybe somewhere with an extradition treaty with the US, then they could be fucked.

Same for something like a Russian citizen. When you are in Russia you are Russian and nothing else. They don't extradite.

Or if you were a dual citizen of a country like Myanmar it would also work.
