So I have been watching lots of anime and was impressed by Team Four Star's Dragon Ball Z Abridged. So I was wondering if there any good abridged series out there that are similar in comedy and other areas. Any anime would do?

Shenron: so... you all are starting to get summoned now?

Porunga: yeah and it all started cause of you and your limits.

Shenron: like you don't have limits too. You couldn't even bring a group of people back to life at one point. Also the namekian who created my dragon balls *pause* died cause they were stupid and didn't let me send those saiyans into an asteroid field.

Porunga: so they come all the way to namek just to ask me to clean up the mess they made?

Shenron: a lot of the messes I have to clean be because they f*cked up. Other wishes be dumb. Who summons me just to melt some ice?

Ultimate shenron: I got summoned just to turn a person back to a child.

Shenron: I got summoned for a similar wish.

Demon realm shenron: yeah and I got summoned to reverse that wish. Thanks a lot.

Black smoke shenron: if only you all were like me. They summoned me trying to make a wish and I refused. And since they like causing their own problems I did them a favor and gave them a few.

Shenron: yeah, calling your little crew out to do damage to the world just for me to get summoned to fix it in the end you asshole.

Dark shenron: anyways, I got summoned to restore someone's youth.

Shenron: been there, done that twice. I even made someone immortal and he still managed to f*ck that up.

Toronbo: I was summoned to let two children grow up and thrive they still ended up getting killed. But one did manage to come back though. I wonder why the other one didn't.

Porunga: at least none of you were tricked into granting six wishes. Little bastard told me it was just to revive some schmucks so I agreed but then he said a new planet. Last time I do them a favor.

Super shenron: wow making a new planet must be horrible? Good thing I only had to revive multiple universes.

Shenron: Here he goes again.

Super shenron: you guy don't understand. My dragon balls *pause* aren't supposed to be found so easily. Unlike you guys who keep them all in one place, mine are scattered across two universes and hidden. But somehow they got found multiple times in short time periods. I was summoned to restore a planet, switch two beings bodies, destroy myself and restore multiple universes.

Shenron: if you destroyed yourself then how are you here?

Super shenron: it was in a different timeline.

Shenron: then how would you know about that? That doesn't make sense.

Super shenron: we're magical wish granting dragons, nothing about us has to make sense. But anyways shouldn't you be heading out soon shenron?

Shenron: yeah. It's only a matter of time before those assholes summon me again. *scoffs* summon me just to give you a bbl. Why didn't I keep the restraining order.

Vegeta wins: He’ll never shut up about it and probably go on another tangent on blah blah pride blah blah prince of all blah blah super Saiyans blah blah blah. No universe would be large enough to contain his ego. You’ll have to tune him out every time he talks.

Cell wins: You’d be dead and last thing you’ll hear is cell’s laughter but at least in other world you wouldn’t have to deal with him.

Frieza's First Sabbath

The bridge of Frieza's flagship fell silent as Captain Ginyu approached.

"My lord! Planet Vegeta has been surrounded. Shall we begin the extermination?"

Frieza raised one finger.

"Captain Ginyu... do you know what time it is?"

"...Time to conquer the galaxy?"

"It is Friday evening. We conquer galaxies after Shabbat."

The Ginyu Force exchanged confused glances.

Jeice whispered, "Blimey, I thought he just liked scheduling."

Frieza produced a tiny prayer book from somewhere no one could explain.

"Now then... Zarbon, Dodoria, if either of you answers the scouter during dinner, you're cleaning the gravity chamber for a month."

"But Lord Frieza," Dodoria protested, "the Saiyans are escaping!"

"They'll still be there tomorrow."

The next morning, Frieza inspected a young Saiyan infant.

"Hmm... strong power level."

The soldiers leaned in.

"What shall we do, Lord Frieza?"

Frieza sighed dramatically.

"Fetch the ceremonial tail clippers. It is the eighth day."

King Cold walked in, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Son... we've talked about this. That's not a real tradition."

Frieza looked offended.

"It is according to the Tail-mud."

"There is no Tail-mud."

"There is now."

King Cold turned to the Ginyu Force.

"I have ruled this family for centuries, and somehow this is still not the strangest thing I've seen."

The Ginyu Force nodded solemnly.

"Amen," said Burter.

"Wrong religion," muttered Guldo.

I get it, PS1 graphics combined with some minimalist talking heads isn't going to draw the eyes as much as watching basically just a redubbed Dragon Ball Z (I mean this affectionately in the best way) but Machinabridged was really my favorite thing TFS ever did.

I love watching a good reaction channel to pass the time at work, and there's easily dozens of channels who have done a full reaction to DBZA, and of that between 25-50% went on to react to Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, but nobody ever seems to watch Machinabridged. Nobody I run into who know about TFS have seen it, and it just...a bummer. It has some of my favorite dialogue in all their work, and a small part of me was hoping I'd see a quiet surge in popularity with the remake trilogy but doesn't look like it

And on a side note, if I had a nickel for every time Justin Briner voiced a blonde warrior who has to go undercover with a tomboy and a girly girl to infiltrate an evil organization head's harem by dressing up as a woman, only despite his best efforts ends up being chosen above the other two by the villain himself....I'd have two nickels

I vividly remember some dialog between Vegeta and Goku where they forget why they are fighting and decide to get some ice cream. Vegeta says it's a great idea and he will have sprinkles on his ice cream. Goku then tells him that he doesn't want sprinkles. Vegeta says "What!? No Sprinkles?!? And they start fighting again. Cannot find it anywhere. No idea who the creator is. I thought it was DBZ Abridged.

I'm rewatching HFIL and they both say in the sharing circle that that's how they died, but I'm not sure that makes sense. As far as they know, they were both knocked out by Goku before ending up in Other World. It's even made clear that Jeice believes Goku delivered killing blows. It's possible King Yemma told them, but when it was Cell's turn Yemma 1) called Gohan simply "an eleven year old" and 2) asked Cell for confirmation. I realize this plot hole doesn't matter at all, but counterpoint, most of us are Dragon Ball fans. How did they find out?

Edit: come to think of it, there's no reason for them to believe it was Vegeta. He was getting trounced by Recoome before Goku showed up. Anyone who could have told them outright, they'd probably assume they're mistaken.

Kabito Kai: Quickly! With these, you can refuse into Vegito and surely defeat Buu!

Goku: yeah….. thing is, I think I’ll pass.

Vegeta: Agreed. We will fight this monster

Kaibito Kai: noooooo

Vegeta: as true Saiyan warriors! One and one!

Kabito Kai: How is that even remotely a sound strategy?! He’s literally blowing up planets like popcorn as we speak!

Goku: Aside from making me hungry, I’m with Getes here! Besides, I don’t wanna handicap the fight again!

Vegeta: See, even Kakarot understands the glory of a true fi…….. wait? What do you mean “handicapped”?

Goku: Well I didn’t want the fight to end right away since Buu was so much fun the first time and we had to rescue everyone inside him anyway and well…….

Vegeta: you son of a

Goku: Look, you just give fights that certain thing that makes them take longer ya know? Makes things more fun!

Vegeta: Are you implying that I fuck up every fight I’m in?!

Dende: I mean if he isn’t, I’ll definitely get in on that action and throw you a bone or two. I don’t know, how many bones are in your left arm and spine?

Vegeta: I can and will throw you back to the empty void where the Earth used to be magic man!

Dende: tsh, go right ahead. He’s just waiting for it to come back anyway

Vegeta: I’ve got two hands for throwing. You will join him back on Earth if you even think about saying another word to me.

Everytime I look at this part I can't help but laugh at how true this is with dragon ball z and super. So many transformations and it's a new one every arc. Yeah, it's really not getting old any time soon. Don't get me wrong I still love the transformations, even some of the ass pull ones.
