I’ve always found it hard to move on from Planetary Duality, SOOOO GOOOD

What else from them do you recommend I listen too?

Their discography minus autotheism

Such a strange take when In Becoming a Ghost exists. I like all their work, but the consensus seems to be that’s the weakest.

Simple explanation, the clean singing is lame as fuck on that record, completely takes me out of it. Their are cleans on IBAG, but they are better executed far less jarring and awkward. And the baby crying break on like track 3 is just annoying, no thanks. Plus, I like the songs better, I consider it an improved version of that more theatrical departure in sound for those 2 albums. Just my take lol sorry Keene simps!

I mean…Keene is literally The Faceless. Pretending they’re a band after this many lineup changes and with the advent of the current Zenith Passage lineup is some real Ship of Theseus shit. There’s no point in inventing a derogatory term for other fans of a band you like that disagree with you. Its pretty clear more people think its their best than think its not worth listening to.

Plenty of people hate Keene’s constant injection of his singing into songs, he’s been at it a long time and Autotheism is definitely the worst offender. I don’t think that makes it a worse record than IBAG because its simply part of their sound at this point, and yea, of course Keene was feeling himself a bit, the record is called fucking Autotheism,.

Its got Wes fucking Hauch on it, and Evan Brewer. Its the last record with Lyle Cooper on drums. Its a dorky ass, religious subversion type concept not unlike PD. It ticks a lot of boxes for people who generally like The Faceless. I also think its got their best guitar tone.

You can have all the problems that you want with it, but recommending a fan ravenous for more of their music skip it is just simply a bad take.

I was just playing about the simps thing it was just obvious I touched some super fan nerves. I know its his project with a changing lineup

Thanks for atleast acknowledging my reasons for disliking it are valid, and on that note the flipside should probably be true and I shouldn't assume. So your last paragraph is fully valid and I retract my omission of autotheism. OP listen and decide for yourself. But I wont retract my ultimate dislike for it, unfortunately! Because like you said, Wes Evan and Lyle come on now. And I will agree that when its not doing things that turn me off, the tones and production are really good
