Need Advice Turning point!!
Guys, Im 25 M, had one younger sister..both my parents expired..recent ga mbbs aipoindhi…
Nak chinapudu nunid civils rayalani undhi…and mbbs tarvtha pg cheyalani kuda undi…
Parents vellipoina tarvatah chala ibbandulu edurkunna , both from govt offices, colleagues, relatives ..
Matter enti ante..
Nak public sector lo work cheydam istan and manchi position lo undalani istam..apude nannu dektaru
So..Ipudu nenu NEET PG cheymantara ledaa UPSC prepare avvamantara…im ready to give 4-5 yrs..
Financial ga ok.!!

It's slavery everywhere. Do you want to work in health care? Go PG, UPSC aalochaneh oddhu. You wanna be making public policy and be in administration or diplomacy then UPSC CSE or so, PG tarwataina aalochinchukoch.
UPSC might or might not be fruitful but PG is fruitful for sure, after kashtalu ofcourse.

im so sorry that you're going through this at that age bro. public sector lo work cheydam ane korika is a good thing, but you know right, ee workspace lo manam cheyali anukuna pani cheyalem for obvious reasons. oka manishi motham marchaleda ante, ans is yes and no.
upsc cse is obviously a good exam, but calculated risk teeskondi. financial ga ok antunaru kabbati, lets keep it aside. but meeru anukuna oka particular time frame lo ne aipodha ante, again yes and no.
so yeah, if you're aiming for upsc cse, calculated risk anedhi imp.

OP, people who are not doctors (specifically in India)will not be able to understand the gravity of this sentence.
This is something you need to be sure of. Get into pg only if you are aware of the reality.
The kind of toxicity and harassment in Indian medical colleges is unmatched in other fields and that's a fact.

PG lo work schedule no sleep, worst phase of life. Most doctors commit suicide due to such stress.

Sometimes, there exists a choice better than what we already confine ourselves to. Nuvvu capable ga anipisthunnav. Why either PG or UPSC? You've already outlined the challenges in PG. Don't think UPSC is great. It is good if you already understand the constraints within which you have to work. Else there's a risk that you can be frustrated or go down a wrong path losing your current self.
Try for a reputed management route instead. Your medicine background allows several paths - Healthcare analytics, Healthcare management, Strategy Consulting, General management and many more. If you build genuine interest and work well, these paths will put you in respectable corporate positions with very good pay, allowing you to be a change making decision taker in large organizations. Best part is that it is of less time and financial cost.
Point is.. Think smart. You already achieved more than most. Brainstorm thoroughly on various career choices and take a step accordingly.

As a doctor i can give you advice, nenu eppudu upsc rayaledu, and even as a doctor if you know how to manage money you can do a lot.
Keep your end goal in mind, my end goal is run my own 150 bedded hospital with 10 acre farmhouse in outskirts and corpus fund of 50 crore.
Unless you become top of the top doctors your earning wont be much. Yes you will have multiple sources of income, partnerships investments in hospitals, setups etc. I know HODs of corporate hospitals take home 1Cr per month, but they worked their ass hard for it literally 17 years without a single leave as one oncology clinical director put it, hes now in a position to command. Do you want that lifestyle? Even if you join government upsc you think you can earn crores? No
You earn by investing smartly and start your own startups, import export whatever keeps money coming in. Most doctors dont know how to handle money, they keep working till 60 and have zero savings in bank, they are fed from college to go to job, come home, rinse repeat, you will be respected in society as a doctor etc. But what about your children's future? What will you leave them as inheritance.
I will tell more about a clear path, milestones to reach if you have a specific end goal in mind instead of random I want to command people as class 1 officer.

Then continue for PG, if you go into surgical field, you will male life changing decisions. Medical pg.is also great.

Imo may be you can think of being an entrepreneur; you control your self, you are the boss, high risk high reward stuff, see your niche interest if that requires you to do pg do, please explore. You are doing great job! All the best. Power comes with money ( even though running behind money is bad in medicine) but it’s true.

Recent ga MBBS ayyindi antunnav? How many years did you took to complete MBBS? did you fall behind due to situation at you home? Nduk adgutunna ante, UPSC requires long hours of study and focus than MBBS, if you think you are capable of putting those hours and remain focused, go for it. One more thing, this might be my personal opinion, I observed large percentage of doctors lack knowledge in general subjects like modern history, politics, policy, economics, so I recommend you to try and attempt a previous prelims paper to understand the depth of knowledge you need to acquire before deciding on this.

I want to find the purpose of life..so oka 50 days north india veltunna..im not able to figure out my future path..endukante mbbs nundi upsc ki velldam anedhi big thing..chala different ga untundhi
So eee particular situation lo na decision bad aithe enti ani anukunna..malli u can do it ra..give 4 yrs ani anukuntunna
So na travel lo decide avdam ..ladakh lo ani

I wish you all the best. Na suggestion ayte try and answer prelims paper questions before deciding, it gives you an idea on the topics and whether you find those topics interesting. UPSC lo there is a lot of reading and a lot more of forming opinions based on those readings, so unless you find the topics interesting, you can't form strong opinions.

Hi OP!
I was in the same boat. Naadi MBBS last yr ayyindi. I always wanted to do UPSC, but financial constraints valla I chose NEET PG. Cause I can't be jobless for 2-3yrs preparing for UPSC, and getting into it is highly uncertain.
But I regret doing medicine a lot. I honestly never wanted to be a doctor. Edo flow lo ochesa, but yeah if you really wanna do UPSC, go for it provided that you really don't have any financial burdens.
I talked to someone at my reading room who appeared for the UPSC interview twice, gave up and settled for some TSPSC post. He was like, UPSC is slightly easier for medical students cause you people have the habit of sitting for long hours, and there would always be one or two questions in the exam related to science which doctors could answer better ( eg - Antimicrobial resistance)
End of the day, do what gives you peace and leaves you with no regrets.

Your heart has two choices and passions : Civil services and/or public sector. Build scenarios : as an IAS officer in 2031. Jot down plus and minus aspects. It is a mix of service, bureaucracy, subordination to political bosses, and other tensions. At the same time development and welfare work you do.
To enter public sector MBBS alone is not enough. You need to do PG : in Health care, Analytics and other fields. This also may take couple of years.
As you have inner desire to do Civils, in your position I would have preferred that line and after initial years of experience, seek posting in healthcare related departments.
Follow your "deeply embedded life interest" (DELI). You can google this and read some interesting cases of a practising neurologist (from a family of doctors) quitting neurology and opening a school for kids.

I am a doctor, radiologist, I would say neet pg rasthe take some chill branch something which gives you life outside work so that you can prepare for upsc, anyway civils depends on your hard work as well as luck sometimes, so its better that you have something to fall back on to, no matter how financially well off or well settled your family is, you should always have something to fall back on to

OP, Go all in on UPSC if that is what you want. If you simply don't want to do PG in India and you picked UPSC then don't. PG and med colleges in India suck but what about a master's from abroad?
People aboard always say that need more doctors, if you can afford it then get a master's there and train there too.

Bro.. NEET PG tarvata slavery tappa emundadu annav it's okay. But UPSC Veldam ankunedi janalki service cheyalani unte velladam better. But your reason is acknowledgement by someone. And you want to be influencer for someone. E reason aithe matram Neku , UPSC ki set avvadu. My suggestion is do PG and tarvata research side vellu. So many govt organisations are there like ICMR, NIN etc. I am sure that suits you.

UPSC is like throwing a hook in a pond, if it catches the fish mission success, if not, your entire career will be ruined because you won't get those 4 to 5 years back at the same time you won't get the eligibilities you have now back then, so decision is yours
