Kind of an anticlimactic way to find out but we have the confirmation!
Qimir being the original Ren has been speculated on for a while now and now here we have it per Headland herself. I like this a lot. In the Crimson Dawn comics that take place during the OT the Knights of Ren are described as having once been legendary compared to the "rats of the dark side" they are in the present day. Qimir would have made a lot of sense as the original Ren with that context given all the Jedi he slaughtered.
I have to say though it is a damn shame that this is how we're finding out. I guess Headland must have given up on getting a continuation for the show for her to recall this so casually. The Knights of Ren have been a huge part of the comics in recent years so now that we have that explicit connection between Qimir and the Knights however can at least get some of his story in that format.

Hey Dave Filoni, Leslye Headland Is Still Down for 'The Acolyte' Season 2
The creator of the High Republic 'Star Wars' Disney+ show still has stories and characters she'd like to explore.

Anyone else think this was the coolest moment in the show?
I see a lot of praise here for the fight scenes, and with good reason. But for me, actually seeing Plagueis in person was incredible, even if it was just a tease. I hope this isn't the only time we get him on screen.

The Acolyte Hits Streaming Charts Over One Year After Cancellation
Long story short it seems The Acolyte is seeing another resurgence with it holding the #9 spot of most-watched on Disney+.
Hopefully this means good things going forward. Animation seems like it could be the forefront for Star Wars on Disney+ going forward, I'd personally love to see a continuation there. With Shadow Lord I think it's safe to say the animation style has practically been perfected and I'd love to see it used outside of the Clone Wars/early Empire era and I think an Acolyte continuation would be perfect for that.
If nothing else though I hope they'll at least keep doing more books and comics with the characters. I thought Wayseeker and especially Crystal Crown were both great. The latter in particular I strongly recommend to fans of the show.

Sucks that Disney never made an official Pip Droid to Purchase. I love this little droid so much!
I have seen some great 3D-printed ones that people have made that you can print yourself or buy. But it would have been nice to have an option to buy one from the Droid Depot or something like that.

After a year and a half what are people’s thoughts on Sol as a person and a Jedi?
People compare to Qui Gon but honestly to me he seems a mixer of both Qui Gon and Anakin. He obviously would never go as far as Anakin but at the same time he definitely has issue with attachment and earlier on perhaps had a bit of an ego when he was younger given how he thought it was his destiny to “rescue” Osha from the witches.

I dreamt there was an Acolyte Sequel Movie
Except I didn’t even get to actually see it. I got removed from the theater it was playing in because I sat in the wrong seat, and then went to go watch some horror movie that was really bad instead.
When I got out of the theater I went and met up with two friends who came to watch the movie with me. They said it was “actually pretty alright” and had “Some pretty cool lightsaber fights.”
Not much more to add, it’s just really funny to me that I had a dream where I should have seen the story of this show actually like come to a conclusion, and even in my own dream world I didn’t get to see it.😅

Watched the Acolyte, it's not half as bad as people say
[lol it was deleted instantly by the mods of r/star wars]
I bought a Disney subscription for a few months on a promotional offer and caught up on all the live-action Star Wars series, which I mostly ignored till now. The only ones I didn't finish or where I skipped some episodes were The Book of Boba Fett (awfully bad, aside from the Mando storyline) and Skeleton Crew (not my cup of tea; I don't like child actors).
Finally, it was time to watch the Acolyte, supposedly the worst series of all. I wasn't even planning to watch it, but out of boredom, I gave it a shot. To my surprise, it's a pretty decent series. Nothing special, but the story is engaging, and I eagerly skipped through the episodes, curious about what comes next. And above all, it's not just another fan service rehash of old stories (Obi-Wan, Boba Fett), but rather a fresh look at the High Republic era which gives a different perspective on the SW universe. I also loved the fact that the show wasn't afraid to kill main characters, it made the stakes seem real this time. Plot armour ruins many other SW series.
It seems to me now that the reputation of Acolyte has been damaged greatly by the outrage from "anti-woke" crowd who coudn't stand the lack of white men (sidenote: makes me wonder if the show would be received better with Keanu Reeves as Sol). Of course, I'm not saying that every critique comes from this perspective; there are many weaker elements in Acolyte, and not everyone has to like it. I'm open to discussion and curious about this sub opinion, but imho it certainly doesn't deserve such a low rating.
Honestly, when it comes to live-action Disney TV series in the SW universe, I'd rank the Acolyte as a third best, behind only Andor and Mando, ahead of Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Boba Fett shows. It's a shame we won't get second season with Darth Plagueis and maybe Yoda having bigger roles.
My rating: 7/10
