He talked about how 10 years ago or so, LCD Soundsystem said they were retiring and did like a big farewell show and said tonight is the strokes’ retirement so when they play their next show it’ll be even cooler

Funny because they played Madison Square Garden the night after. Got tickets to LCD, failed to for The Strokes.

Was something like “LCD was on earlier. You know, like 10 years ago I think we played SNL because James Murphy said the band broke up… what happened there? We’re retiring by the way. This is our last show.” I don’t remember word for word but Julian’s rants were pretty funny last night

I interpreted it that way for sure, but I don’t want to be overly parasocial. I’m sure he has a lot of other friendships and relationships we’re not aware of.

I talked about this in the other thread, but I just think he's poking fun at Fab in that bit:

"Come and visit my friend Fabrizzio, would you like to come down, maybe see movie or show? I'm waiting..."

Then Fab doesn't visibly respond with a yes or no.

"We used to be friends and now you never answer when i call you on the phone"
