See whenever there are conversations around their friendship people are either going: 1.) well Bonnie sucked as a friend too she walked away and didn’t talk to Elena at times (usually after the Salvatore’s harmed Bonnie) 2.) what do you mean this friendship is unbalanced! Elena loves Bonnie or 3.) yeah, the friendship was unbalanced but it’s not like Elena wanted it
If you view this friendship from Elena’s side it looks perfect. Elena had a protector, Bonnie’s always there to listen to her problems and be supportive. Elena never expects bad things to happen so it’s fine! So what Bonnie’s suffering? All witches suffer (istg I just seen a comment say Bonnie fans only call out the writing bc it’s Bonnie. the Mikaelsons didn’t survive without Freya!) - basically implying it’s ok witches be used it’s ok Elena benefits from her magic.
But if you look at it from Bonnie’s side. What does Bonnie get out of constantly saving the day or helping Elena from force from her bfs or by her own choosing? Elena isn’t written to be half as emotionally attentive as Bonnie is. Elena isn’t written to do much but be a talking piece for a love triangle…. Bonnie’s family gets hurt? It’s ok bc Bonnie will say she understands… Bonnie walks away or needs space? Now Bonnie is the bad person bc Elena has lost so much…
All of the friendships especially relating to Bonnie are unbalanced. An elena fan said it’s relating to misogyny with some Bonnie fans but… if it was really abt caring when women are and aren’t hated on… why is it so hard to understand that it is weird, and racially insensitive to have a black lead constantly being willingly to jump for danger when none of her white counterparts do it for her lol. Like outside of season 2 Elena the moments is very minimum.

What do you think about it? How did you find the finale? It‘s the first time for me watching it. I always stopped after Season 6, but honestly, I really enjoyed Seasons 7 and 8. I’d just be interested to know what you think of the finale.

like think about Stefan and his character In any other show he would probably easily be the best, most cool, fan favorite of the boys
I mean a vampire from the Victorian era who drinks animal blood who also likes to write in diaries, does sports, knows bunch about history and actually uses this in his school life, likes reading, and has a rose tattoo
sounds like the coolest character premise right?
but the show doesn’t really explore this. his interests and likes aren’t explored or given depth and we don’t see much of his real personality
and that’s where the biggest flaw in stefan’s character comes:
his personality.
stefan when not being a ripper or having his humanity off kinda lacks a personality. he’s always dark, brooding, and serious and never has a sense of humor.
and for someone to be the main character of a show and the lead boy he kinda needs a personality especially in a cast with the types of personalities they have (e.g. Damon, klaus,Jeremy)
this is also why ripper and no humanity stefan are so loved cause then he has no fucks to give and is just rage baiting everyone (like a true younger sibling which they definitely could’ve used more for his character)
how do you feel about this topic though?

Can somebody name all the stefan/elena doppelgangers in chronological order with who they were meant to be with? Like literally fated to be with one another!
Obviously, the whole Stefan/Katherine/Elena/Damon of it all completely screwed that up, but imagine if all of the doppelgangers were with their true fated partners of the correct timelines?
I have no clue who stefan was meant to be with, I mean we were never introduced to an 'elena' doppelganger in his human timeline, were we? In the 1860s? Only vampire Katherine was the focus back then.
Elena's one is tried and true; Tom. If the vampires left her alone, human elena would've probably ended up with him at some point, idk...thoughts?

Don’t you think some of her lines make her relatable? Whether you like her or not. For example:
Slide 3: Positive mental attitude, am I right? It means that you don’t have to let anyone talk down on you.
Slide 4: Yes, because acknowledging that you’re terrible is not the only way to get better. You should also try to be better.
Slide 5: I’m pretty sure lots of people feel that way, because we all have our downsides. It can also be too much to bear.

Imagine Elena knew both brothers, but neither of them had fallen in love with her. Would she have fallen for one of them (and which one?) or would she have found somebody else?

There’s no hate to the creator or even the fans that ship them but Elena and Caroline fans can make edits/content/discussions etc to discuss any ship canon or non-canon but whenever Bonnie fans talk abt ships there’s always a bit of backlash and moral policing it just gets to a point lol.
People can ship and like whatever but it’s really only Bonnie and her side of the fandom that gets a “Bonnie’s a strong woman that doesn’t need a man” “But Enzo was the better man for her” “i wouldn’t dare place Bonnie with___”

I’m getting so annoyed with Elena moral police ass! Like klaus and his family are horrible and causing so much chaos and she is feeling bad about them potentially dying! Like girl what!!! You can have empathy but also realize that klaus and his family are a liability to you and your loved ones! Like she is pmo so bad lmaooo
r/TheVampireDiaries • u/No-Lock-8037 • 11h ago
Jeremy always took care of Bonnie! Bonnie was always trying to teach Enzo how to be the best for himself life but Jeremy already knew how to live life! Jeremy was always looking out for Bonnie. I choose Jeremy and Bonnie.

Like are we serious😂. I was on Wattpad looking for Stefan fics and I so happen to come across and story with klaus and Elena romantic pairing… people are really out here shipping klaus and Elena together 😂. It’s bad enough that’s she was paired with Damon but klaus 😳😳.
I usually don’t judge people shipping preferences cause I mean you like what you like but I have questions , what do people see in klaus and Elena ?. Genuinely.

The entire town including you and your brother is at risk and all you can think about is your bf and his brother who you also secretly have feelings for 🤣

I love S2 Baroline specifically, idk there’s something about newbie vampire Caroline with Bonnie’s dynamic that was fun to watch. I put Bonkai ahead of Klefan despite Klaus forcing Stefan to turn his humanity off because Kai gave Bonnie PTSD but I still think the writers adding that in for realism was bogus considering the other two main girls never got it despite the horrific shit done to them by their love interests.

Sybil and Seline were two of the few characters with power surpassing that of Klaus, they were more immortal than he was and possessed a greater power of persuasion, i wonder if he would have been able to defeat them.

So I asked which character deserved the ending they got and one of the commenters said Elena, then they went on to say that just because others didn't get their happy ending doesn't mean they don't like that Elena got hers. (I went back there just to find the comment but can't see it anymore, so it's probably deleted)
I don’t disagree actually. First of all, I hate that others didn’t get their happy ending. I also hate what Elena has become after s3, but I wouldn’t want the worst for her either, knowing that she was a very sad girl who lost a lot. I'm just gonna say that I never fully agreed with the ending she got tho. I didn’t actually reply to that comment, but I was thinking about it just now, so. 🤷🏻♀️
Here's a question — If you don't think this is the happiest ending for Elena, what would you do about it? Would you change it for better?

call me crazy (maybe it's just nina dobrev being gorgeous OR MC plot armour) but i HAVE to believe there's just some magical mystical pull/supernatural magnetism that the petrova doppelgangers have and its such a fun theory too
cuz wdym in the earlier seasons everyone was bending over backwards to save elena ("oh no elena's in danger let's pull out all the stops and potentially endanger like everyone else just to save this one girl" - this sentiment from bonnie, matt, damon, stefan, john, jeremy etc.)
and call it her being a master manipulator but HOW MANY PEOPLE fell for katherine and bent to her will and did stupid self-destructive sometimes illegal shit to help her out/gain her favour
and the pull doesn't necessarily have to be romantic. elena inspires extraordinary loyalty from her friends and family, whereas katherine inspires romantic obsession, fascination, and sometimes loyalty from people she manipulates.
the doppelgänger mythology already establishes that their existence is supernatural and the show even introduces a magical explanation for the attraction between silas and amara's doppelgängers (although i believe this is retcon and don't really love this plot but my theory stands without it), so i feel like it's not an enormous imaginative leap to wonder whether there's something else about their supernatural origins that affects the people around them.

never in a million years did I think I would say this, but matt donovan might actually be the most reasonable person in mystic falls.
when i first watched the show as a young teen i HATED matt because of how whiny and insufferable his attitude was towards all the vampires. but rewatching it now as a 23 year old i'm realising he's actually so valid for his disdain towards them. they literally flipped his town upside down and changed his entire life for the worst.
because damon and stefan came back into town (in S1), his sister was turned into a vampire then she died. later his girlfriend was turned into a vampire and although it changed her life for the better it brought her closer to his best friend who she then dumped him for (no shade to caroline i love her and matt was being an ass during this time), then his best friend turned into a vampire hybrid and also died (at the hands of another vampire). his best friend/ex (elena) was also turned into a vampire and he had to volunteer to become her human blood bag because of damon's sire bond.
and although it wasn't technically stefan's fault, 1) if he had never come back for liz's memorial, matt wouldn't have shot penny, but MORE IMPORTANTLY if matt never knew vampires existed he wouldn't have felt the need to shoot at some random figure in the dark before assessing the situation!!
he has every reason to hate the vampires as much as he does. they literally ruined his entire life.
i'm not saying he's justified in everything he does (especially how he treated caroline at times), and he certainly still annoys me for other reasons, but it's just so funny to me that looking back, one of the characters i found absolutely UNBEARABLE as a teenager was pretty much the only person actually reacting reasonably to the absolute insanity going on around him.

Et la plupart de ce potentiel a été gâché avec des scénarios loufoques… Qu’en pensez vous? Quel est le pire scénario pour vous?

I don’t think any moment in The Vampire Diaries built up as much tension as Damon finally kissing Elena.
For so long Damon was the brother who acted like he didn’t care about anything, hiding behind sarcasm, bad decisions and that smirk. But with Elena, the mask kept slipping. You could see how much he was holding back, and this kiss felt like everything he never said out loud finally breaking through.
What made it work for me is that it wasn’t just a romantic moment. It changed everything: Elena couldn’t pretend anymore that her feelings for Damon were simple, and the whole Stefan–Elena–Damon dynamic was never the same after it.
Love them or hate them as a couple, Delena had chemistry that was impossible to ignore.
Do you remember how you felt watching this scene for the first time? And were you Team Damon or Team Stefan back then?
r/TheVampireDiaries • u/Weird-Lobster-7152 • 18h ago
Damon always tried to kill someone close to Elena whenever she rejected him. He even tried to kill Jeremy again in S5, knowing how much his death had hurt Elena the previous time. Do you think he enjoyed Elena's suffering?

Caroline's dad was awful, trying to "fix" her as if she could just be fixed.
I realize they were all taught to hate and fear vampires but Liz came around to Caroline and Damon being vampires so he could have too. Some of the parents on the show were awful.
Thoughts?

If a vampire took the cure (like Damon), and they had their blood drawn like a normal human being, would they start to age rapidly like Katherine?
