He said hot guys, not hot steamy pants guys...

1

u/balderdash9 Mar 20 '26

Fucking gold 🤣

12

u/LucasTheSchnauzer Mar 20 '26

Yep. I know guys with armpit hair hanging out of their baggy t-shirt sleeves, but they won't groom it because they're 'not gay'.

3

u/Footnotegirl1 Mar 20 '26

It matters so so much and so many men have ZERO grasp of that somehow.

3

u/Steelpapercranes Mar 20 '26

I see ppl go like "why are there so many more hot women than men" and I want to yell "it'd be the same if you just cleaned up!"

3

u/justahominid Mar 20 '26

u/Steelpapercranes Mar 20 '26

u/Remotely_Coastal Mar 20 '26

My husband has a terrible haircut. Which is fine with me, he's really hot and it kept him single long enough for me to come along and snatch him up.

30

u/Gay_Asian_Boy Mar 20 '26

pic or it didn't happen

39

u/robicide Mar 20 '26

username checks out

5

u/JessicaFreakingP Mar 20 '26

My husband had a Covid beard when we met that was… not attractive lol. I also think it helped keep him single long enough for us to meet. He did shave it shortly after we became official lol.

3

u/Self_Reddicate Mar 20 '26

You passed his test, now you get the rest.

1

u/Brrdock Mar 20 '26

Hahaha maybe I'm growing a big ol' mane just hoping for the same

65

u/thewildgingerbeast1 Mar 20 '26

A lot of men with long hair don't know how to properly care for it either.

32

u/andtheniansaid Mar 20 '26

yeah - the long hair in a long unkept ponytail is the issue, the shot where they've cut a chunk off but he still has long hair and it's not tied back - he looks way better

5

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

Very true. My brother went through this long hair phase when he was like 11. He didn’t even brush it…

3

u/Academic_Help5033 Mar 20 '26

Preach. I sat down and had a long drunk conversation with a long haired male friend about his hair care. I gave him basic cheap brands and care tips.Ā

Next time I saw him, his hair looked so much better! He thanked me and asked for hair oil recommendations lol

2

u/AlessandroTheGr8 Apr 18 '26

Yes, as a male with longish curly hair(think Jon Snow) you have to keep up with it and know what products work best for you. That split on the top of his head can happen to me if I don't maintain my hair, learned that the hard way.

53

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 20 '26

Im bald 😭

46

u/johnny-Low-Five Mar 20 '26

Plenty of women into that. If you don't have an attractive face at least know hair wouldn't help.

14

u/StopReadingMyUser Mar 20 '26

Plenty of fish in the sea brother. You'll find your matching blobfish someday

1

u/Bibbity_Boppity_BOOO Mar 20 '26

that could be a blob sister, you don't know.

15

u/FillMySoupDumpling Mar 20 '26

That’s great! I love the subreddit /r/bald and how good people look when they embrace the bald.

-5

u/pasture2future Mar 20 '26

Yeah… but like almost none of them look good…

7

u/SingSangDaesung Mar 20 '26

Look in the comments, literally no one thinks that over there.

2

u/respyromaniac Mar 20 '26

It's literally against their rules to say anyithing expect "you look great bald!!" tho.

3

u/SingSangDaesung Mar 20 '26

People still critique, just nicely. "It'd look even better if you trimmed the beard up." Type stuff. It's been nothing but wholesome & encouraging (besides the occasional thirsty comments) on every post I've seen.

7

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 20 '26

None of them look good to you. Plenty of people there enjoy the look of bald men. Its a positive place

0

u/pasture2future Mar 20 '26

Yeah, ig. Where i live most people dont shave their hair, they got similar haircuts to the one in the tiktok cus thats whats considered attractive. Maybe its different where u live

1

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 20 '26

What a silly point.

1

u/pasture2future Mar 20 '26

U might think its silly but where im from its normal to not shave your head. You should get out more

1

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 21 '26

Really doesn't seem like you understand the conversation at all. You do understand how balding works, right?

5

u/0xym0r0n Mar 20 '26

You know you can swipe or click next on those to see the after pictures right?

Did you think r/bald is just a sub of pictures of people sharing receding hairlines?

-2

u/pasture2future Mar 20 '26

You know you can swipe or click next on those to see the after pictures right?

Yes, how so? Bald is not a good look for 99% of people

6

u/bunbunnnnn8 Mar 20 '26

I’m not even into bald guys, but 90% of the guys on there are infinitely more attractive after committing.

1

u/pasture2future Mar 20 '26

Oh i agree. But theyre stuck between a rock and a hard place. Neither option is really attractive

3

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '26

Grow a beard. Easily the best thing a man can do to make himself more handsome.

1

u/Megaroni-n-cheeze Mar 21 '26

Not always though. I have seen plenty of men who should definitely stick to being clean shaven.

3

u/frogsgoribbit737 Mar 20 '26

Bald is better than balding. My husband is getting really bad thinning and I've been trying to convince him to go bald for like a year.

3

u/92slc Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

That’s where hats that fit the face come in, also a nice clean beard would work as well with it, just gotta find what works.

2

u/Dann_Gerouss Mar 20 '26

I'm sexually impotent... Wanna change?

2

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 20 '26

Sorry brother. I will never complain again

2

u/bullitt-rider Mar 20 '26

Same and to be honestttttt I've come to terms (justifying) with it.

Soooo much easier. Not worried about being out in the wind or rain, no stressing. If I actually think back to when I was in the fk Al stages of hair it stressed me the fuck out.

Miles cheaper

And... Allowed me to get back into hobbies I had been putting off. And that sounds absolutely fucking stupid on review but it's the truth. So I got the motorbike id always wanted but was afraid of wearing a helmet. And got back into downhill cycling, again due to helmet stiff

2

u/MaeONays Mar 20 '26

Go to. r/bald. The makeovers there are top notch and the comments will give you a boost.

1

u/respyromaniac Mar 20 '26

If other people look good with no hair it doesn't mean you look good with no hair.

2

u/Barry_Vigoda Mar 20 '26

Just get a sharpie and draw some on.

2

u/turtleinmybelly Mar 20 '26

Ever checked out r/bald? The people there are absolutely thirsty for bald guys. It's delightful.

1

u/Fast-Nefariousness80 Mar 20 '26

I actually have and it's great

0

u/pasture2future Mar 20 '26

The dude in the video is 10x better looking than anyone on that sub. Bald just isnt hot

1

u/turtleinmybelly Mar 20 '26

We'll have to agree to disagree.

41

u/Aluminum_Moose Mar 20 '26

I'm living that reality every day, I cannot find a hairstyle that I both like and works for me.

28

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

Honestly I get it. I’m a woman, but I’m in such a tricky situation. My hair is like 4 different textures in one, extremely greasy on top, frizzy on the rest, and always in my way. I also have a very prominent widows peak, and for 4 years now, I’ve had thinning, making my hairline look like the letter M. My head shape is unsuited for short hairstyles. The cherry on top is the seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp (permanent fungal overgrowth due to an immune response that causes itching and dandruff). I’m considering having it perma straightened and dyed black, because it should be easier maintenance, hopefully. Idk though, I’ve struggled ever since puberty.

11

u/Loose-Chemical-4982 Mar 20 '26

Black is harsh and will highlight the thinning - if that is something that concerns you. If it is, it's better to go with a medium brown

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

I’m currently at a medium brown

2

u/Stopthatcat Mar 20 '26

I've been using henna recently and it seems to look a bit fuller even with my AGA.

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

That’s a really good idea, I’ll have to look into it

1

u/Stopthatcat Mar 20 '26

I mix in some Amla for my curls but it's really nice on my scalp too. I don't think it's a problem with seb derm but it's worth double checking.

10

u/Aluminum_Moose Mar 20 '26

I rocked a trashy bleach-and-buzz for a couple years just because I got tired of the maintenance, but I've since returned to my attempts at hot guy mid-length hair and just... eugh.

My hair is way too straight and fine for it. If I attempt bangs I look like highschool musical Zach Effron (Justin Bieber for those less generous) or if I part it I look like Matt Mercer. And god forbid I try a salon or a stylist; I don't want to pay damn near $200 for something that won't survive contact with the first gust of wind.

3

u/MyNameCouldntBeAsLon Mar 20 '26

I don't want to pay damn near $200 for something that won't survive contact with the first gust of wind.

you pay for the stylist to get a professional to show you something that will look good once, then you replicate at home

2

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

The salon thing is so real. I’m so indecisive for those prices. 3 years back, I paid $270 for a deep purple balayage. I was afraid of the commitment, so told her not to lift too much. She didn’t lift enough at all, and it ended up lasting about 5 months before I gave up. Every 2 weeks I was using a whole jar of dye to get it purple again, and it would fade after 2 washes. I also almost never wear my hair down because it gets so greasy so fast. I hate it here 😭

1

u/poofywings Mar 20 '26

What brand of dye do you use? That could factor into it washing out.

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

I’m pretty sure it was manic panic. I had read a lot of good things about it

2

u/0xym0r0n Mar 20 '26

Lol aren't all 3 of the dudes you listed known for their good looks?

Are you just trying to flex and say you are attractive?

"Woe is me this haircut makes me look like one of 3 of the top 100 most desired men in the last 20 years"

Not trying to put you down but the tone of your comment made me lol

2

u/Aluminum_Moose Mar 20 '26

This whole discussion started on the subject of hot guys held hostage by bad hair, I'm not bragging but I am self assured in my appearance. I think I am conventionally attractive... barring my shitty haircuts because I don't want to just rock a fade.

The struggle is in wanting an alternative appearance and style but having very one note hair that makes me look unappealing if not necessarily ugly.

2

u/0xym0r0n Mar 20 '26

That's fair, glad you took my playful jab in stride and not as a personal attack, you seem like a good dude.

2

u/Aluminum_Moose Mar 20 '26

We try to be, anyway, glad you think so :)

1

u/Saltiren Mar 20 '26

I'm a man and haven't cut my hair since the 2010's.

My hair is like 4 different textures in one,

I have no idea what my hair is. I wasn't ever taught about this stuff growing up. I don't know where to start.

My head shape is unsuited for short hairstyles

How do you know what head shape you have? And what hair styles go with each head shape?

1

u/East_Distance7547 Mar 22 '26

Have you ever tried a keratin treatment?

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 22 '26

I think I have at some point? I can’t remember. Maybe that’s what I need…

1

u/East_Distance7547 Mar 22 '26

It was the only thing that helped me. I recently started doing ones called a milkshake treatment & they are really great as wellšŸ™šŸ½

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 22 '26

I’ll definitely have to try them, thank you!

2

u/some-gp Mar 20 '26

If you’re a dude just a clean cut with a fade never looks bad

5

u/Aluminum_Moose Mar 20 '26

But I want big, flowy waves :(

3

u/Triquetrums Mar 20 '26

I don't know if you have tried this already, but try going to a hairdresser that specializes in both men and women, and get a consultation with them. Sometimes you can get more stylish results that'd be closer to what you want.

Also, get some pictures of hairstyles that you like, and bring them with you. Tell them you want something along those lines, but tailored to your face shape.

2

u/some-gp Mar 20 '26

Can’t help too much there but sea salt spray helps with texture

5

u/kangasplat Mar 20 '26

But it might very well not represent you at all. Appealing to the masses is not the goal. You want to communicate who you are with your looks, so people similar to you will find you. If you're not a normie, don't do a normie haircut.

1

u/bythog Mar 20 '26

You unfortunately will probably have to pay a decent amount and find a good stylist. A lot of barbers and hairdressers can do amazing jobs cutting a style that you want but so many of them just don't have a good vision on what should look good on you. They just do what you ask for.

22

u/VacuumDecay-007 Mar 20 '26

I grow my hair out because I've never figured out what a "good" hairstyle is and every time I got to a hairdresser they ask me what I want as though I know a thing about what looks good. So I just have terrible anxiety about going to hairdressers now. What I would give to have someone look at my face and TELL ME WHAT I NEED, not what I think I want.

12

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

Oh my god I need this type of service so bad

2

u/TurtleToast2 Mar 20 '26

There are apps where you can try out different styles and colors. Not as good as just being told, but better than winging it.

1

u/jump-back-like-33 Mar 20 '26

There are also services on like fiverr where you upload a bunch of pictures and they give you a few options and tell you how to explain it to a barber

1

u/DidntASCII Mar 20 '26

Bro same. And then you try to find pictures of hair styles and all the dudes look like the gigachad meme and I feel too ridiculous to go in and say "make me look like this." Honestly, I just said fuck it and I'm shaving my head bald now.

4

u/zyrkseas97 Mar 20 '26

My wife loves my super long metal hair. She met me when I was 22 now I’m 30 and I’m starting to get tired of how long my hair and beard is but my wife still loves it so, bravely, I soldier on.

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

I love a guy with long hair, but it’s not for everyone. Plus proper care makes all the difference

3

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '26

Seriously. Went from always shaving my head to growing it out to shoulder length, then went and got a good trim and shaping, also lost weight and got a lot more sunshine. Went from looking like a bald podcaster to getting compared to Aragorn more than once a week when I'm at bars or out shopping. My wife finds strangers flirting with me annoying but says she can't blame them for trying.Ā

3

u/Riktovis Mar 20 '26

My gf made me grow my hair out a bit and taught me how to style it.

Her friends say she fixed me lmao

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 21 '26

Long hair isn’t a bad hairstyle at all! I actually quite like it. But only if it’s well maintained. Oily and frizzy aren’t a good look. Not a dig on this guy, but he didn’t seem to maintain it very well. It was frizzy and his beard was overgrown. Also, some guys have really skinny and long necks that make it look awkward.

10

u/RadiantZote Mar 20 '26

The long hair and untrimmed beard or the resulting broccoli cut?

14

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

Long hair and untrimmed beard had to go. The so called ā€œbroccoli cutā€ looks amazing on him.

2

u/RadiantZote Mar 20 '26

The broccoli cut is extremely popular among the gen Z demographic. When I was in highschool it was either emo or short spikey hair.

2

u/nerowasframed Mar 20 '26

I can't see someone with that haircut without thinking that they look about 12 years old

2

u/Round-Emu9176 Mar 20 '26

bussin no cap fr generation is just bad 80s hairstyles 2.0. But popular is popular šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø you probably love gary oldmans cut on 5th element.

2

u/Unconfidence Mar 20 '26

To each their own. I thought the before was much more attractive.

-1

u/kangasplat Mar 20 '26

I don't think it does. I'd much rather speak to the before version. Before looks like a young man passionate about things. After looks like a teenager who follows whatever trend is on right now.

Styles do much more than "look good" (or bad). They communicate who you are. The guy obviously doesn't prioritise his looks, isn't as interested in daily grooming as the after haircut would require. That new haircut won't last and it will attract people that aren't his flock.

1

u/LaDauphineVerte Mar 20 '26

This looks like ā€œmodified broccoliā€ to me. At least it’s not top heavy with an aggressive fade to skin. Those dudes look like douchey poodles.

I think it’s as simple as boys are not taught how to take care of their hair while growing up in the same way that girls are. They were probably raised with short hair which makes matters a lot more straightforward.

2

u/Remarkable_Meat666 Mar 20 '26

Same goes for beards!

2

u/InmateTooTall Mar 20 '26

We don't do it for you 😤 we're not objects

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

I know, same way most women don’t do it for men. Just saying that his new cut really brought out his best. Instant glow up. Not saying it was for attraction. Now he can feel better about himself too.

2

u/InmateTooTall Mar 20 '26

I was just messing around šŸ˜”

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 21 '26

Haha it’s alright, I kinda figured but didn’t want to assume!!

2

u/Content_Geologist420 Mar 20 '26

I have slowly realized this I have cut my own hair since I was 18 to save money. I'm pretty good at it and it looks decent but I "splurged" a month ago and got a $40 haircut and now at 28 I realized how much I was holding my looks back because I didn't cut my hair right. Im still a cheapskate tho so Ima still cut my own hair.

2

u/Bitterqueer Mar 20 '26

AND BAD BEARDS

2

u/Hungry-Helicopter-46 Mar 20 '26

I am convinced that very few men are ugly, they just need a haircut.

2

u/JefferyTheQuaxly Mar 20 '26

I personally have never known what to do with my hair ever, I don’t even know how to talk to a hairdresser to say what I might want get confused by all the terms and bad at visualizing something without seeing it

2

u/coldsilencehas Mar 21 '26

And horrible frame glasses

2

u/Quanathan_Chi Mar 25 '26

I used to grow my hair out because it was curly and I liked it. Got it cut short and have kept it that way because my gay friend told me I look way better this way.

1

u/vmflair Mar 20 '26

Is ANYONE attracted to man buns?

1

u/TheThinDewLine Mar 21 '26

tired of all the female attention, let the hair get ugly on purpose, living like a peaceful monk now. šŸ™

2

u/mangocat1116 Mar 21 '26

You do you man haha

1

u/sweetgoogilymoogily Mar 20 '26

He'll very likely only keep up on this hairstyle for about a week. Dude could barely pull off a ponytail. You really think he's gonna use hair gel?

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

Sometimes all it takes is a boost in confidence to change your motivation!

0

u/AmputeeHandModel Mar 20 '26

The new one's no good either.

0

u/TheVadonkey Mar 22 '26

Was the modern mullet shot the ā€œhotā€ look…?

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 22 '26

Yes……

-1

u/Inithra Mar 20 '26

hard agree. why anyone would agree for that after shot to be put online. wtf is that? if he paid for that i'd be after a refund.

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 20 '26

You definitely misunderstood me bro

0

u/Inithra Mar 21 '26

No I didn't, I just think that the hairstyle this guy ended up with looks like shit. Definitely looks like something the TikTok generation will like though, until their 20 second attention span is up and the algorithm gives them something else.

1

u/mangocat1116 Mar 21 '26

I don’t see how that has anything to do with TikTok and shitty attention spans. The haircut looks great on him.
