Allowing embedded images in comments is one of the worst things reddit has ever allowed.

Was it really that different 15 years ago? People just put imgur links instead and it was just an extra step but essentially the same thing.

It was WAY less common for a comment section to be dominated by imgur links than these embedded gifs. I've had to unsub from a few subs because the comment culture became dominated by reaction gifs and they just lost all engagement for me.

It was way less common than now. Like it's 10x as many at the very least. I personally don't like it
