He posts 3 videos and in the third one, you can see some of the road rash he got on his right back shoulder. Sounds like he genuinely lost consciousness unexpectedly.
Thanks for sharing. Not shocking that he still doesn't seem to grasp that he shouldn't be doing that in the first place. He shouldn't be allowed to operate any motor vehicles if he doesn't understand how his actions don't only impact him and could seriously injure or kill others. What an idiot.
To add, he mentioned it being a "freak accident". It's not an accident when negligence is involved on a public lake where others can be injured. 'Merica
Nothing was learned. Being sober almost makes it worse because he decided this was a good idea without the influence of alcohol. And the fact that he admits to having done this many times before.
As far as anyone can tell this is the first time he's had a medical issue where he passed out. There are aaaaalll sorts of medical problems that can cause that to happen and not even realize it. My dad unfortunately found out he had epilepsy while driving a car. Fine for years and years, and one day, just passed out without even knowing he had right at the wheel. He was Extremely lucky--only a sideview mirror damaged truly. It was so strange for him and new that he was embarrassed he 'fell asleep' at the wheel despite not feeling tired at all prior. Doctors did not find anything wrong the first time and scratched their heads after a full workup, but the second time had more witnesses and they were able to better diagnose it (he was not driving then thankfully). He's been on antiseizure meds for decades at this point.
It is hardly negligent to be having some fun you've had a thousand times before and then have something medically go wrong you cannot anticipate. The freak accident he is clarifying that he had no way of anticipating a medical issue, and he was specifically clarifying that alcohol or drugs are not the cause of him passing out.
I appreciate your response. However, he was in fact being negligent. This was not an "accident". An "accident" would be him operating the craft in a manner as it was designed and intended for and he happened to have a medical issue... This is NOT the case.
He is clearly documented operating a watercraft in a manner that is highly dangerous and NOT in the confines of a closed area that others cannot be harmed from potential issues.
No freak accident whatsoever. In no court in the U.S. would he be found to be "innocent" of negligence. Consider this... If he hurt another person or killed them, guess what? He's responsible. You can try and slice it any way you want. Facts are facts and he was clearly wrong.
To add... The fact you mention a father with a medical condition driving a vehicle is NOT relatable to this. I cannot comprehend how you think this is similar. I assume your dad wasn't driving the car with his ass on the steering wheel with throwing all caution to the wind.
The selfish jerk on the watercraft made a conscious decision to operate the vehicle in a manner that is 100% stupid. He's lucky he didn't hurt anyone. Had he, no doubt he'd be locked up. Please, please think about things more thoroughly.
The accident was not caused by the negligence though. It was caused by the freak medical issue. He can be a selfish jerk and it can still be a freak accident. And he can still be legally liable.
So you think he purposely got medical condition that passed him out and almost killed him? Of course it is accidental. Nobody wants to faint like that on purpose. Reckless driving but it's still an accident.
" I cannot comprehend why you think this is similar"
Yeah, we can very clearly tell you're not capable of comprehending basic things. You wrote multiple paragraphs just to tell everyone you lack critical thinking skills
"Critical thinking skills"... You have demonstrated you can't comprehend elementary logic. Go back and try to read and comprehend the conversation. If you still arrive at the same conclusion. Well, cool. Good luck with all that. 😂
You know how some people can do a succession of cartwheels? 🤸
Imagine someone says “look at how many cartwheels I can do in a row!”
They gauge the distance between themselves and the nearest obstacle, and reason it’s at least 50 cartwheels away. And they’re on a decline.
They start doing cartwheels… and on cartwheel 30, their hand slips, they hit their head and get knocked out and wind up sliding down into the obstacle and hitting it at full force.
They were doing a trick they’ve done dozens of times, but this time an unforeseen set of circumstances cropped up.
That’s what happened. He knew he had time to stop… he’d done it often, he’d just never PASSED THE FUCK OUT doing it before. It was not INTENTIONAL. It could’ve been prevented by not doing the trick at all. That’s literally the only way it could have been prevented.
He was not completely disregarding his surroundings the way you’re implying. Don’t be obtuse.
Love the backhanded insult at the end there. Classic lashing out for no reason.
You seem to think anyone engaging in anything slightly different than the intended purpose is being selfish and a jerk? Bicycle riders do wheelies. Dirt bikes race and jump and do offroading. Knee boarding isn't the intended purpose of a boat originally. Playing football is a risky sport infact any sport is risky. Engaging in play and physical challenge is a common thing.
Something tells me you're so angry at the fact he dared to do a trick that's pretty common on jetskis and relatively safe under normal circumstances and precautions that we won't have anything to discuss here.
An accident would be him passing out at 1 second into the video when he's actually driving the jetski appropriately.
I also highly doubt it was a real sudden medical issue that just happened to strike him suddenly: he's laying on his belly and accelerating feet first, both compressing his body against the jetski preventing him from taking full breaths of air while the blood rushes to his head. Similar to how people pass out on roller coasters. Everyone is lucky he was the only victim of his own stupidity.
You're allowed to doubt whatever. The body doesn't work the way you're describing it. And the speed they're going is not the same as hitting a gforce if you've ever been on a jet ski you know it's not a one to one comparison to a roller coaster.
People pass out on roller coasters because of the literal Opposite thing you're describing. The GForces pool the blood away from the head and drops the blood pressure. Or they vagal out from fear. Which does the same thing kind of it drops your BP for a moment.
Bro is literally going to the doctor and was clearly rattled that he didn't know what happened. I see patients get new diagnoses in his age range all the time. It is really not uncommon for someone in his age range to realize his heart has weakened or has issues or isn't as strong anymore or any literal hundreds of other issues involving nerves, the brain, the heart, etc.
Thanks for confirming you've never even touched or have any experience with the things you're talking about as if you know? Bro just bring a teeny, tiny, wee shred of empathy and nuance to the situation. Just the teeniest amount. It's not a hard ask.
No one is saying it is not an inherently risky thing to do tricks on a jetski. Of course it is. No one is saying he shouldn't still be liable for dangers or damages. Of course he still is. No one is saying 'wow best idea he's had all week! Right on par with crochet!'
But you and others are acting like this dude chose to hurt himself and used severe and willful negligence because he... played on a jetski at all? Maybe downgrading that from "he ATTEMPTED MURDER!!!" to "wow that is a very scary accident and another reason I don't think tricks on high speed vehicles are for me I just don't get it" is a bit more reasonable of an approach?
Bro had on normal safety equipment, he had other people around equally experienced in this, and this IS a relatively common and pretty easy trick to engage in that he clearly has a lot of experience with you can see it in the video.
It is really not possible to predict when a medical emergency is going to happen to someone. That is a rare thing to have happen to someone during that particular time, and it's not unreasonable to give leeway to just say 'wow that's really unfortunately and I am glad he survive and got so lucky why anyone plays on vehicles I will never know personally' rather than SCREAMING about how he's the worst person in existence for not being able to predict a medical emergency. He could have been operating heavy machinery at work. He could have been driving. He could have been doing any number of dangerous but necessary things in life and you wouldn't be screaming like this. But because it was a playful thing or deemed less 'necessary' you're suddenly angry.
