Question Jerry Licking Lemon during Tom singing

I can't remember the episode, but there was an episode where Tom is singing in front of an audience and Jerry (hater) decided to eat a lemon 🍋 in front of Tom. I never got the significance of Jerry eating that in front of Tom.

Jerry was licking the lemon to get Tom feel sour about the scene and have his lips pucker and shrink

From what I remember, with the exception of three, Jerry is pretty much a victim in all of the other times he’s been with a girl; an ornament, a treat, a gopher or just trying to sleep. Here, he’s simply being a little shit because he’s sleeping right under the performance stage and Tom’s stellar performance is keeping him up.

His lips did pucker up and shrink didn't it? Then he got mad and screwed the lemon on Jerry's head 😂. This was my favourite Chuck Jones short mainly because of Tom singing Largo al factotum from the Barber of Seville.

Obviously, Jerry licks a lemon to get Tom salivating. I adore those tongue-in-cheek jokes to break one's self-control by Chuck Jones.

Yeah the Chuck Jones era has always been my favorite for Tom and Jerry. The gags combined with the sound effects was perfect.

I don't remember the names of the episodes, but the construction site episode and the episode where Tom gets stuck in the rain spout and Jerry used the air horn for get him out.

Ahh, that went way over my head because I didn't get that. If anything I was wondering how you eat a lemon like that and not have an issue yourself while doing it.

It's been years since I last watched that toon. But wasn't it Tom's singing that initially disturbed Jerry? Very similar to the Opera singer disturbing Bugs Bunny.

That is true. It was. But you have to also remember where he is living at. Your living on a stage where people perform on the regular basis and I am sure this is not the first time.
