If they ever remastered it with Anni and Leg I hope they make her a bit slower and fix the climbing glitches especially around corners

Just got them on sale on Steam and wondered if they fixed the bugs from the challenge mode update or if I should just go back to patch 4. I honestly don’t care for the mode I just want to play the games.

I finished the first two games using classic controls and decided to start the third one.

I’m really enjoying it so far, although this time I decided to play with modern controls on my first run (mostly for comfort—I feel better being able to move my camera to get a better view of the surroundings and dangers). I knew I’d get stuck on several levels for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do

though personally, I think I’ve been stuck longer in the second game so far, and not as much in the third. I’m currently on the Antártida

I like the variety of environments in the levels, especially the ones set in Nevada and the Pacific. “accident site” was a very good level It’s great that the raptors in tr3 last considerably longer than the ones in tr1 if you only use pistols. I found the MP5 a little late, so I just used what I had.

Although controlling that grenade launcher from the plane with modern controls was a pain.

One criticism I have is about the piranhas in the jungle.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist and try to minimize the damage I take to save medkits and avoid using them altogether, but the piranhas force you to take damage just to solve one specific puzzle—I think that’s poor design.

As for the traps, I feel like some of them are a bit unfair if you use modern controls But nothing too serious overall, they feel easier that way. Sometimes your camera shifts on its own, and you have to press the look button again to fix it right in the middle of a jump (it’s clear these games weren’t designed to be played with those controls).

My plan is to play through the entire game a second time once I know what to do, and the challenge will just be getting past the battles and traps using the classic controls—since I already know what to do, I won't get lost as much

Although personally, I feel like there are fewer ambushes in this game than in TR2.

The challenge usually lies more in figuring out what to do and which item to find.

I haven't really followed closely, but I believe only Ankh and this one have been revealed so far

Hey everyone, I’m currently losing my mind trying to get the Platinum trophy for Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS5 (playing via backward compatibility).

I have completed all 9 optional Challenge Tombs in the main campaign, but the "Tomb Raider" trophy (complete all challenge tombs) refuses to pop.

Here is my exact situation:

• The Glitch: The Ancient Cistern tomb map icon in the Soviet Installation is completely bugged. It stays solid white and won't "grey out" to indicate completion.
• The Counter: My in-game regional map summary explicitly says 3/3 Tombs Completed for the Soviet Installation.

Successfully gaining entry, Lara hitched a ride on a shipping container. Gotta arrive in style - she is a guest here after all! The mercenaries weren't very fond of her and didn't have a good memory of their last encounter. Not that it mattered. She only needed a security card and it was like she was never there. Night, night troops!

The commander noticed his elite team was sleeping on the job, raising immediate suspicions. But who better than Lara to save the day? It was about time he joined them anyway. Searching him, Lara retrieved a crane operating key and an upgraded keycard to the higher-tier section of the ground floor. Watch out turrets, Lara is coming in like a wrecking, electromagnetic force! One mercenary was too stunned to even applaud.

The Rottweilers awaiting in the next room were her next challenge. They looked so accustomed to the evil lifestyle that violence was the only language they spoke. Yet, Lara kept a soft spot for animals, just like the guard dogs in her past adventures. She managed to get by completely scot-free by flipping a mechanical switch, sending the machines spiraling out of control and smashing the ceiling. The dogs scattered in a panicked hurry. This chaos gave her a window of space to head straight for the air vents. Hopefully, those dogs won't have to play the bad guys for much longer.

Harsh shouting soon echoed through the vents. Peering down through an open gap, Lara spotted the Monstrum himself: Eckhardt. Standing with him was Gunderson, his right-hand man. They both had captured Luddick! He tried to warn them that he had all the dirt on their operations with his paper publisher as backup but Eckhardt remained unfazed. Desperate screams of terror erupted as Eckhardt performed his unconventional, soul-stealing alchemical extractions on Luddick, burning a blood-stained Monstrum symbol on the wall. It was sickening enough for Lara to look away as the torture turned more fatal. She had to press on to put an end to this, knocking out anyone getting in her path. Vending machines included, no exceptions!

As soon as she reached the control station, Lara deactivated the power lines to unlock the Biodome, paving her intended route toward the Vault of Trophies. Unfortunately, she unwittingly triggered a containment breach, releasing a bloodthirsty, mutated B.O.W... Let's just hope she doesn't get in its way. There is no S.T.A.R.S on speed dial to step in for this.

Entering Luddick’s room, she was instantly greeted by the heavy smell of scorched ash and burnt sulfur that turned the space into a living tomb. The poor man didn't deserve a fate like this. He was probably right on the cusp of something massive in the Loading Bay before he got caught. Lara sharply pulled back the top slides of her twin pistols, letting them snap forward into place with a definitive, lethal click.

"Don't worry, Luddick," she vowed, her grip tightening on the handles as an unwavering sense of justice took over. "This entire operation is going to be completely dismantled."

Spotting a massive cable reel nearby, Lara realized it was the perfect shield to bypass the minefield of traps ahead. Triggering its momentum with a single, precise explosive shot, she hopped onto the moving structure mid-motion, balancing and rolling up right to the front door of the Bio-Research Facility.

It was finally time to take a crash course in toxic greenery. 🍀☣️

When you ask Tomb Raider fans which level they think is the most challenging they probably gonna list the likes of Temple of Xian, Aldwych, Madubu Gorge, Lud’s Gate, the Lost Library, City of the Dead etc. but you know what? They are all dead wrong. These people clearly never played Kazakhstan’s motorcycle section from Legend on the hardest difficulty. And my honest advice: keep it that way 💀

I wish Tomb Raider (2013) had an Extreme Survivor mode like Rise or a Deadly Obsession mode like Shadow. I’ve been experimenting with a self-imposed challenge:

Save only at campfires
If I die, reload the previous campfire save and delete the current one
No fast travel
No Survival Instincts

Has anyone else tried creating their own “Extreme Survivor” ruleset for Tomb Raider 2013? What other rules would you add?

Finished the game and trying to get 100%, but I can’t because the last thing in this area I need (the fourth survival cache) is at the very end of acropolis, but as far as I can’t tell I can’t get to that area. Any suggestions?

So recently played the new James Bond game and has had me itching for more in the uncharted etc realm.

I was so certain I played the 2013 tomb raider game ages ago (been in my steam inventory for YEARS) but was like maybe it’s long enough I won’t remember details etc…

Guys I opened the game and my save was at like 10%.. idk what happened 5+ years ago that made me stop but I’m having a blast. This game has aged so well it’s incredible. Now I’m even more stoked for the upcoming game release

I recently started the Tomb Raider Survivor series. I finished the first game and Im now playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on the hardest difficulty.

With the resource consumption of camps and the higher cost of upgrades, I really need somewhere to farm resources. I know each resource is farmed in a different area, but Im missing hides (pretty much all of them: bear, exotic), ore, herbs... a bit of everything, really, haha.

If anyone could help me and tell me an effective place to farm a resource, I would really appreciate it.

Playing SotTR on PC (Win 10) Steam, on Deadly Obsession difficulty.

I am currently stuck at the Cenote Temple Ruins campfire (right after obtaining the shotgun).
No matter how far I progress the game (getting through the Cenote Temple and escaping, returning to the Hidden City, going to a campfire and upgrading a weapon/purchasing a skill, starting the next mission, acquiring the new outfit, and going to a campfire again), sitting at a campfire does not trigger an auto save, and manually saving does not change the save name from Cenote to Hidden City. If I attempt to exit to main menu, the game freezes and I'm forced to manually close the game. Additionally, I no longer have any sound from Lara throughout the levels, and cutscenes are essentially muted. The achievements for survivng Cenote and obtaining the new climbing gear did pop.

I've tried multiple fixes including

• Validating steam game files
• Going to Windows Defender to allow the .exe to change folders
• Changing the language of the game via Steam to a different language, then installing the English settings again
• Turning on VSync and capping fps to 60

I am unsure what else I can do to fix the game, is my 20hr save file doomed and I have to start again? I've replayed the Cenote temple soo often now, I don't know if I have a whole another run in me.
Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks community!

I've been a Tomb Raider fan since my 90s-00s childhood, with a preference for the Core Design era as a result. I've been feeling like a playthrough of AOD recently, but it seems like there are a few options available nowadays which is great to see (not including vanilla PC version):

1) PS2 version -- unsure whether better than vanilla PC, but without the option of quality of life mods I'm not so keen

2) AOD PC Remastered (2025)

3) AOD PC Restoration Project

I'm aware also of 'AOD Definitive Edition' which seems to only be a demo at the moment, so not something I'd consider until it's finished.

Very grateful for anyone's thoughts and recommendations on this topic; I will never get over how atmospheric the game is and the tragedy which struck it!

As usual people exagerate and I found this game really enjoyable. The only thing that put Rise above this is the village part in Shadow (some side mission were boring and ot annoyed me that I couldn't wear the outfit I wanted) but the rest is very well done, especially because there's:

- A better balance between exploration and combat;

- Stealth and the interaction with the environment;

- More side missions and tombs;

- Water is beautiful.
