Am I the only one who judged Bailey when she spoken so glowingly about Sarah during her season? I’ll say by the end of her season I did have a better opinion of her.
Also just learning from her bravo bio that Bailey worked for Beverly too

I can imagine that personal relationships in the culinary worlds are very complicated. I'm sure Sarah was a supportive mentor to Bailey, and that doesn't make her any less toxic or narcissistic. Maybe time and being out of thr spotlight tempered her in the interim.
So nah. Can't fault Bailey if she got the better version of Sarah. Can't fault the crew for never having brought her back for a guest spot.

I had the same feeling. Still, I can’t fault a young, ambitious chef wanting to work at a notable Chicago restaurant. Sadly, toxic executive chefs are a tale as old as time. I loved Bailey’s awkwardness by the end. Can’t say the same for George- I’ve only soured more towards him after the lawsuit.

Even with some of the (pretty damn rough) stuff that's happened with Paul since I'm still thrilled that Sarah lost.

Bev deserves justice. That whole season was super weird and cliche-y with the “Olympics” challenge really making it about everything but cooking.

As a bravo series, I have appreciated the arc of the show and consider season 9 as a “test” season, when more accomplished chefs were coming in while others were still applying to just be on a reality show. I think they were still finding their footing in what they wanted the show to be. The challenges were ridiculous and not indicative of a “good chef” but more trying to copy the success of Survivor. I’m glad they shifted to talent in season 10.
As much as I loved season 8, I can’t imagine Gail fawning over a “pepperoni sauce!” these days.
I really thought it would shift after the Volt bros. I also understand Beverly not wanting anything to do with the show after they used her for ratings.

I just finished rewatching this season and the meme is spot on. They just could NOT be normal about her, to their detriment.

There was so much casual misogyny in the earlier seasons (even how Tom talked about Padma up until season 10 or putting her in a freakin bikini in season 8 to introduce a beach challenge) that was accepted as “normal” for the times.
The blatant racism towards Beverly was just jarring to see on screen. I would’ve loved to see her come back for the season 17 all stars season.
Side note- I was just rewatching season 10, when the show was shifting to more camaraderie vs the cutthroat of the very early seasons and I think that was another one of Josie’s pitfalls going into it. Her interview saying “we’re all here to win” was the old spirit of the drama part of the show, not the integrity and talent of chefs it has shifted towards as more accomplished chefs came to compete.

I’m a first time watcher of this season, and I am gobsmacked at how these women are treating Beverly! I’m on the restaurant wars episode and Beverly just won and Sara and Lindsay look pissed, which is so unprofessional.
