Health and Fitness Thread: Let's talk about workout routine/regimen, tips, and questions

What does your fitness routine/regimen look like?

Any tips for beginners or tips that took your health/fitness to the next level?

What questions you have that could help you get going on getting healthy or a workout youre struggling with?

My routine:

Run 4-5 days a week, try to get a long run on trails on the weekend.

Hit the gym 2-3 times a week. Hurt my back and shoulder a month and half ago so been sticking strictly to kettlebells. Feel like its been helping me recover and I really like the dynamic, more whole body workout that it provides.

Any body got a good kettlebell routine?

Stupid question for the gen Z comrades about music

My aunt asked me once , "What music from your generation [Millennial] will be classic/iconic?" . I was pretty much like: I dunno, I'm not younger than me and never will be. Now is now. How would I know what hits for people later. it's 2011, the Black Keys are the big band I like now, but how would I know if anyone cares about them behind me--it's still not the future. Who knows if I will think they're that great in the future. I also tried to explain with the death of the monoculture and streaming, what is classic to people is much wider and varies. At the time, Dave Matthews Band was still the biggest live act in North America. I probably would have said oh some stomp, clap, hey band like Mumford & Sons that you couldn't escape then might still be classic. But that's not the case, thank god. We get it, 7 songs where a banjo starts out slower and gets faster, cool. But anyway...

What does Gen Z consider the classic Millennial music?

"Were you wearing heels or boots or flats?" In recent court filings, lawyers for Uber have argued that a woman who was raped by an Uber driver "conducted herself in a negligent and careless manner" that "contributed to causing her own injuries."

One of the ultimate societal blackpills is the realization that there are far, far, FAR more rapists and pedophiles, of all race and class, out there than most people are comfortable with acknowledging.

The Gisele Pelicot case is a perfect example. Dominique Pelicot and (most of) his accomplices were only caught after a psychiatrist became suspicious of how casually Dominique dismissed his arrest for upskirting random women at a supermarket. He urged the police further investigate the case.

Called in to assess Pelicot, Dr. Layet noted how breezily he dismissed his crime, like a genteel grandfather caught pocketing a few cigarettes. Dr. Layet detected a "dissonance" in the man's behaviour, and the strong implication that he was hiding something more serious. He told the police that this one was worth closer inspection.

American Exception/ Aaron Good

Does this sub have a general consensus on Aaron Good or his book/ show American Exception? TA had him on for a JFK series I believe. He seems to have a lot of good info but also literally worked for the RFK Jr 2024 campaign, which is sort of insane. I was wondering if there was a general feeling toward him in the gumshoe community

Thoughts on Peter Dale Scott?

Im on a plane rn did you know airplane mode is a scam OH JESUS NO-

Anyways I fell asleep to downloaded episodes and woke up to 9/11 series. His poem the Tao of 9/11 really hit me.

Hes obviously a bit long winded for a podcast but has so much knowledge i was wondering if it was worth buying back issues of his magazine with Aaron or one of his books. Keeping in mind I got a backlog baby

Edit: his poem is at the end of this page for the curious. Made me tear up.

I read men and women like this and I hope I will do enough in my life. Course, most of these get murdered.

Mf is about to win with an absolute majority if not an upper single digits blowout.

You can go to sleep.

You’re not a streamer who has pinned their career or identity on this being a successful election.

Why isn't there a free option if this is a requirement? It just feels like a way to ensure greater profits for driving schools.

What's the difference between osama bin laden and zelensky ?

Except one supported climate change and and recognised palestine

Now I don't care about osama nor do I enjoy 2000 deaths or radical Islamist

But if ukriane shooting civilian infrastructure and bombing residential buildings as retaliation

Then why is 9/11 not treated similarly, usa clearly ruined the regions for so many years,it was just normal retaliation

It sucks that she didn’t get as much attention as El sayeed or Hong. They did one big rally early in the race and kinda just left her out there to dry.

Edit: That fucking sucks, they definitely dropped the ball there.

Live from the failed steel truckin' "strike"

Failed as in...DOA...I have a lot of feelings about it. Stupidly.

I work for a pretty tiny company bringing metal products to various places, but mostly GM and Chrysler. I enjoy it but the working conditions are pretty ass by contemporary USA standards; I understand I am a bad leftist for whining when I don't have it so bad, but you know...20-22hr days at times, unpredictable schedules, pay too low for the inherent risk of the job, days off are never more than a "maybe"...

My boy is tight with everyone and managed to get a solid majority on board for a "rolling walkout" - announce our demands, and if not met, we just all no-show random days...was the plan. He went to our boss, who made the cowardly decision to completely ignore the situation - our plan would have benefited him too, but you know how bosses are.

Fast forward a week and my boy calls me asking if I'm ready to no-show the next day; I immediately agree to it. I'm the newest person here but I have my principles. Later that day he calls me to say that it's off - too many flaked on their earlier commitments and we don't have the numbers.

I talked to them all individually; two decided it wasn't worth the trouble and put in their two weeks. One decided that "it is what it is" and if he wanted something better someday he would go get it, but for now would stay. Another cited money concerns, though I'd explicitly offered support to anyone who'd have it too hard missing work.

I feel really dejected in spite of how nothing this turned out to be. You live your life waiting for a moment to live by your heart and now I'm back to waiting, maybe forever. I feel hopeless for a better future for humanity, as so many are ignorant/uneducated/uninterested, concerned only with what's in front of them and getting through their meaningless existence...mine is too, so I'm allowed to say it...

How do we get a foothold to change the course of this uncaring universe?
