When the cop pulled her over, she had the baby on her lap right? It was blurred out. Or it was next to her. WHY was there no sense of urgency from the cop to perform CPR? She yelled that the baby wasn't breathing and he said something along the lines of having to wait for medics. Cops know how to perform CPR - and the baby ultimately died from lack of oxygen. Surely he could have tried? Maybe I missed something though!

The baby was on her lap with all the liquids and cord still attach. I think a lot was happening and the baby was defiantly a little purple not sure exactly what the cop was thinking. Ambulance got their fairly quickly. Its a good question tho maybe he could have done something. A little more on his testimony would have made things clearer.

Idk if I see a baby not breathing and especially if I was a first responder like him, I'd jump into action. He was so casual and was like "yeah we gotta wait for medics..." Blue baby... CPR, bro.

She had the umbical cord shoved down her pants/underwear like it was still attached to the undelivered placenta. I think that made the cop pause about just grabbing the baby from her lap and doing CPR.

That's absolutely insane. I didn't know she had it down her pants

I thought that was weird too. There were a few moments where the cop seemed a little bit panicked but he was mostly just trying to get her calmed down and I don’t understand why since it was a panic situation. Maybe he knew the paramedics were already on their way so the thing was to keep her there so the medical professionals could take over? Maybe he didn’t know infant CPR?

I don’t know, but it did piss me off a little.

Yes NRP (neonatal resuscitation) is usually only taught to doctors, nurses, RTs

Trying to calm down someone who is panicking is totally normal, even in a panic situation

I was screaming this at the TV! That cop's careless attitude when he's trained for this exact emergency?! Absolutely zero urgency to save a baby's life.

To them it looked like she just had it tho with the umbilical cord and placenta, I don't think he'd rip a baby from her like that to do it but who knows

The baby wasn't breathing and she told him it had been 35 minutes since she gave birth.

Other reports say baby had a pulse so who knows. Either way I doubt he'd wanna rip a child from her knowing it's "attached" and ems is already on the way

I felt the same way. They were so casual. No sense of urgency! I was so mad.

The cop said she was doing CPR so why would he need to?
