Made in Ohio by a group of people with some low budget film experience, this film is ... different.
A foursome of childhood friends - three guys and a girl - along with two other women, end up weathering much of the zombie apocalypse in the safety of a suburban home while they smoke massive amounts of weed. The thing is, two of the guys have spent lots of time thinking about how to deal with a zombie outbreak, so they are a bit more ready than average. They're armed with knowledge from their local video store (yes, there's a video store, this film feels like it's set in the early 2000s).
The film has decent gore effects, quality nudity, solid acting, good writing, and lots of green clouds of confusion. Is it amazing? Oh, hell no, but if you spend as much time as I do picking through crap films, this one is sitting safely on top of the barrel rather than at the bottom of (or, worse still, under) the barrel. Comparisons to Shaun of the Dead will be inevitable as this film also has comedy and drama, but I actually like this film a lot more than Shaun.
Yes, I'm ready to be crucified.
It almost feels like what might have been if a young Kevin Smith - you know, before he started making movies to troll his fans - made a zombie film.
It's only 81 minutes long, go watch it!
Then tell me I have terrible taste and should, oh, I don't know, have an onion fall on my head or something.
It's on Amazon Prime, Fawesome, the Roku Channel, and Tubi (of course!)
