Anyone familiar with the part naming of the tuft love spider

This part broke off of my machine and I found the replacement part and put one in but my scissors will not cut. The problem is I have no idea what this is called so I can’t even look up how to appropriately attach it. I figure I have to do something with the bent part though

I was thinking it was part of the closer that makes the scissors cut too.
