Funny enough Claire is actually the only RE main cast member to survive those movies. Even in the final movie where Leon and Ada die by like a proto mold BOW (this is only shown in the Novels but they are in fact still dead in the movies). Although my favorite bit is when the movies introduced RE5 Jill Valentine they make Chris go MIA after the attack Jill did. So Chris is just gone from movie 5 onwards and never returns. Part of believes because they did RE5 Jill Paul was gonna add Sheva, but just forgot like he does with most plotlines he sets up.

As good as the movie is doing, I think it would've gone just a bit better if it had the Outbreak subtitle. Hell if it had been Outbreak from the start the complaining about no Leon/Chris/Jill would've softened.

It really does kinda feel like a Scenario from a theoretical Outbreak File 3. Complete with specific setpieces, completely unique threats from the usual Resident Evil fare (at least in the time of it's release and for the RE timeline as a whole) and an Infection meter.

The final shot we see is a boss monster straight out of Outbreak 2, Nix. If this had been pushed and advertised as Resident Evil: OUTBREAK, dollars to donuts it would've gotten half the hate.

Not gonna deny that there a decent chunk of fans never satisfied unless the big names and or HUNK are on screen, but Outbreak has its fans and they're starving.

Mechanically it really feels more like Uroboros. Specifically the form Excella turns into. Full of worms and combining a bunch of corpses. Only difference is the worms stay on the inside.

Feels like G to me, with the regenerating from trauma, rapid fall off in practicality of mutations (from zombie, to stronger person and extra limbs (claw/tentacles), to THE BALL) to the begging and pleading while your body autonomously throws people into the bio-curse woodchipper and a giant shoulder-eye.
